Unglaublich, was Benny da wieder auf die Beine gestellt hat. Ein Songwriter großer Schule. Klassisch, nordisch, gut. So was können andere Pop und Rock Songwriter in der Regel nicht.

This is the path that Abba should have taken - abandon pop and become serious orchestral swedish music. Their music was a perfect candidate for full symphonic/orchestral themes. If this was 2/3's of Abba, this is as close as they got to that goal.

      Kristina fran Duvemala
      Music: Benny
      Lyrics/Playwright: Bjorn
The usual stuffy classical critics called it a masterpiece.
It is considered Sweden's National Opera. Staged it is 4 hours. Deemed too operatic/sophisticated for Broadway and West End audiences. Bjorn at the time said he hoped someday Broadway and West End will warm too more sophisticated/serious musicals like 'Kristina'.
      Re: ABBA
ABBA has tons of classical/symphonic music incorporated into their songs. That is what makes them so unique. Not simplistic American pop.
They were a multiple genre group. Benny explained some their influences in 2010 at RockNRoll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in NYC. They loved music -all of it!
Benny, over the years have said loves J.S. Bach and Swedish folk.
His x-wife, Frida leaned toward classical/jazz. She is the ABBA girl that sounds like a classically trained vocalist, not an upper chest pop singer.
ABBA we're very unique. Listen to their full catalog. They were no American-British group for certain and that is a good thing. They stuck out from everyone.
