It was a sad day they canceled the Sunbow / Marvel animated series deal! Toei did continue making awesome animated commercials for a few more years... our only chance to see some awesome 1987-1989 vehicles and characters in action. Sadly, DiC was subpar by comparison... but you get what you pay for!
@@3djoes Which streaming service would you want a 65-85 episode GIJoe reboot to be carried on? What story arc of the comics would you want this series to cover? Which famous story arc or single issues from the comic would you want to close out the series? And like any prestige ensemble series, which of the characters would you position to anchor the story throughout?
@@jstephenj The 1983 and 1984 minis, and the 1985 and 1986 full seasons were quality. The 1987 movie was debatable from a story perspective, but still quality art and animation. If I were managing the brand, and directing where to go from here (big IF there), I'd build on those, not tear down and rebuild. I would pick up post "G.I.JOE The Movie" with 1983-1987 characters featured. Of course, I'd focus the storytelling mostly on the newer 1987 characters, and then in season two I'd introduce the 1988 characters and carry on. There were so many 1987-1989 greats that never got the spotlight.
Whenever I see that Devilfish commercial, I see that tower come out of the water and expect Decepticons to come out.
"Follow the further adventures of G.I.JOE in Marvel Comics!"
That's awesome. I totally forgot that they'd run ads for the comic books. I just remember there being ads for the toys.
Animation provided by the legendary and iconic Toei Animation from Japan, and the gone but not forgotten DiC Productions in America!

@@3djoes those last few adverts from the DIC era didn't look half as bad as the actual DIC series looked.
And it got better with the Nobody Beats GIJOE Arc! Still IMO some of the best cell animation produced EVER.

Destro's voice 😂
Cobra Launch Base or Cobra Terrordrome
I wish I had the entire collection
9:30 Destro Has Had Enough Of Cobra Commander's and Serpentor's shit...
Is it sad that I recognized you missed GIJoe 24, the escape of Cobra Commander!
When Destro and Cobra Commander switched VA's ROLF
In the commercial, both were voiced by Chris Latta. In the first mini series, Destro was voiced by Arthur Burghardt.
@@BrotherDerrick3X its Arthur Burghardt the entire series.
@@ViewpointProd on the show, yes, but not on the early commercials.
