SRB2 2024 OLDC R1 (Metal Sonic) | (5) ~ Sakura Solstice & Jungle

Ah yes, the Skim gas and the Crawla block -- my favorite gimmick.
Anyway, Sakura Solstice is based off of Press Garden 2 from Sonic Mania. Graphical mishaps asides, I like that they implemented the ice block gimmick from said level. Unfortunately it doesn't go all in on the throwback like having the woodchippers, the woodpecker badniks, the badniks that drop ice bombs on you, etc. Navigation can also be a bitch at times since this level is very big and has many paths that intertwine with each other. Still, Press Garden was always my second favorite of the original zones in Mania, so I mainly like this one out of bias.
As for Jungle, it's a callback to Game Gear Sonic 1. It even has the Rollout Rocks to replace the logs. I don't have much to say on it otherwise, but this is one of those levels that I also just simply enjoy.
