I dont have access to too many bourbons, but I was able to get a Jack 12 for $140 and I would say its the best I had this year.
I havent tried the Barrel Batch 35 but i received a Batch 26 for my birthday and I really enjoyed it as well.
I just shot and edited a video of another 5 bourbons of 2023 that I DONT own, but I’ve tried. The jack 12 may just so happen to be on that list
Only one you left out was JD12. Literally the best whiskey/bourbon I’ve ever had
I only included bottles I own. I only got a sample from Jack Daniels of the 12 and I just didn’t feel right including it. BUT; maybe I need to do a separate video because there’s several bottles I’ve tried this year and there are some AMAZING ones out there. Jack 12 included
I was able to grab a bottle yesterday at a local raffle event. I hope it's the banana brown sugar bomb everyone says it is.

I went from larceny hater to lover as the batches have progressed. This latest batch just hit my spot. I don’t think the masses will jump on the train; they are too busy chasing pappy and weller

Widow Jane Decadence has to be on this list. My lord it’s so good. If they could raise the proof to about 100-110 it would be perfect
The JD SBBP Rye is hands down one of my favorites this as well. I believe this is the first year they mass distributed it. I think it was a distillery only release in 2020(?)

Good list. And I agree that Lacency is better than the C923, IMHO. Too much oak in the tasting notes for the last ECPB this year. And Darrell Craft is killing it, as usual.
I definitely love the ecbp, but something about that larceny batch has me hooked. That’s why it’s important to always try things yourself! Cheers man, seems our palates are aligned!

I’ve only tried the Larceny core bottle and found it super mediocre. I’ll have to try the barrel proof.

I just had a buddy pick me up a Rock Town SiB Cask Strength, and it’s solid. I’ll continue to get their stuff. They go to Arkansas a few times a year.
I love that bottle! Their newer releases part of the column still collection are a great choice to try too! That’s what this cigar batch is part of

Is this a Bourbon or Whiskey from 2023. The products you're rating are whiskey. There is a difference between bourbon and whiskey. Some of the mixes and then the Amburana barrels. Makes them whiskey. Bourbon has to aged in oak only barrels.
To become bourbon, it must be aged in new oak barrels. Once it’s bourbon; it can be aged in secondary barrels. Hence where double oaked bourbons, toasted oak bourbons, and wine finished bourbons come into the game.
I thought ECBP C923 drank a bit hot, and Larceny C923 drank a bit sweet. But the two mixed together (let's just call it "C923")...WOOOF, it is fantastic!!! (Fortunately, I got 7 bottles of each)

I’d say the barrel proof is leaps and bounds better. That being said, I still love the bonded rye. Great for a daily sipper; the barrel proof is just a delicious delicacy hahaha
Good list Trev. I think my favorites for 2023 are MnJ Corbin Cash pick, a local store pick of Bardstown Bourbon Company, Disco 11, Fourate Kelvin 60. Cheers..and suggit! :)
