I got to say I just got off of the Mardi Gras last week. I heard a lot about these shorter cruises in the issues that they experienced but we went on an 8-day and I mean it was insane. I heard about at least three to four fights. One of them was posted on the forum that I was using prior to the cruise and it took place at the pizzeria during the day. I had just left the pizzeria from getting my grandson a slice before it happened and when we got off at the port that's when we saw the video. The kids were running up and down the halls knocking on the doors. There was also a alarm of some sort at about 1:30 a.m. on the second to last night. We were woken up by the alar. We all got up no one knew what was going on so we jus headed to our mustard station. We also experienced the entitlement of the speaker with your own music. People would walk by me and I'm just looking like what the heck? I would just say that there are equal issues on all ships I guess. With all that said, I loved it!!! A day anywhere away from work home and the worries of this world works for me. And like I told them I'd rather be woken up by a random alarm in the middle of the night or early in the morning than to be back at home getting ready to go back to work. Don't have anything bad to say about it, bad things going to happen wherever we go and we can't focus on those but yeah just my two cents and that's all it is $0.02
Thanks for sharing! Every cruise has its drawbacks, I personally loved the Mardi Gras and definitely want to get back on her soon but late night muster stations had to have been scary.
2 am is way too late for cutoff. I'm 56, my frat boy days ended at age 24 FFS! I never want more than a buzz and getting a hangover would definitely ruin my cruise! I never want to be awake after midnight! I also quit smoking pot 32 yrs ago, never liked tobacco-I have no tolerance for smoke! N0. 1 is food, no. 2 is booze-I expect high calibre. I also want quiet, restful nights. Carnival sounds like a circus, their glory days must have passed with Kathy Lee Gifford as mascot.
Just came off of the Valor and during the afternoon hours it seemed as though there was nothing going on for non gamblers. There were two daily music venues that were so-so, but if it weren’t for the violinist trio and the rock band in the evenings, I would have said it was my worst cruise ever. This was only my 2nd five day cruise and there were so many (entitled) people sitting in the stairwells and talking/laughing loud in the hall, once at 3:30am! 7 or more days fit just right with us
@@BoatBreakersNJ it shouldn’t be that way. Sometimes the five day is where our friends go so we join them. Instead of calling them the booze cruise Carnival should step it up a bit and fix it
I just booked on Carnival I looked every where for these so called CHEAP prices 😩My trip was 1100 dollars and that does not include the drink package !
No the total bill for 5 nights with gratuity which was 190 dollars was over 2000 dollars plus for a balcony room . I did also purchase the insurance to secure my trip. We still have pay for the internet package, the drink package, bottles of water etc. My point is that the narrative is pushed that it’s so cheap and when you go to book it on the web site I found that it really was not.
If you’re traveling during the summer it’s definitely more expensive, I like to travel in the winter to escape the cold and less people travel then making it cheaper. I would say I’ve been on cruises for around 1200 with the drink package usually it’s like 700-800 pp and then 400-500 for the drink package
I should have cruised with carnival first, but I didn't. I went on Royal caribbean first, and this will be my last cruise on carnival. The food sucks and the customer service is the bottom of the barrel. Don't like this boat at all
We just took the Dream during Easter and it doesn’t seem to have any issues you found on the Freedom. Other RUclipsrs have said that cost seems to dictate the difference and spending more on a larger or newer ship can really result in a dramatically different experience
I'm about to go on a cruise in two weeks I've been searching carnival cruises getting excited but then I just found out today that it's on the freedom I'm not looking forward to this it looks small over crowded and outdated.

Yeah I mean different people want different things, some people like to let loose and party till the sunrise and short cruises are definitely that.

Yeah the shorter cruises are definitely booze cruises so you’ll get that, their entertainment needs to step up on older ships!

I was just on Freedom in April 2024 and found that awful smell on deck 10 near elevators between middle and front of ship... smelt like sewerage..
Oh man, I didn’t notice anything on the upper levels but yes there’s definitely a sewage smell!
The AC on floor 10 sucks
