Thank you dearest Sandi, You really put a good seed in my thinking as I've been going through stage 4 cancer treatments. When I learned it spread 2 1/2 years ago from original 10 years ago. I only postponed 7 chicks to be delivered by a week and shephard puppy a couple weeks after diagnosis. It's been challenging, but the hens keep me busy enjoying fresh eggs and their personalities, enjoyed training our dog and I treasure everyday to the fullest, thanks to God's blessings! I'm now thinking of a simple place on the coast, which we love!🥰 Thank you! 👏💖 Btw, my 3 amaryllis plants that you helped me with are all beginning to grow! 👍 Exciting! Take care my friend... sylvia 🙋♀️ 😉
Sylvia, as a cancer survivor I know what you're going thru and sending prayers of healing. Keep the planning and doing happy things for yourself. God , humour and plans got me thru!
GREAT points Sandi! Irene and I have lived apart several times during our marriage due to jobs. And your points about total cost of two monthly payments is key. We never bought where I was working and instead rented. Money out the window, but easy to discontinue when the job was up. Good luck!
This was a great talk Sandi. I think everything in life boils down to personal choices. Unfortunately, many people engage in the whole keeping up with the Jones' and they pay for it their entire life. I love your perspective on this - I think the same way. We are on track to retire outright - debt free at 60 yo. 6 more years to go!! - Rick
SuburbanHomesteaderWY I can only imagine! 😞 But there are some winter days that we do dread going out for chores. Glad you were able to make this work for you!
Much wisdom you have shared here! Loved it all! I hope people will truly hear you. Look at you go with all your Shedwars21 Crafts! LOVE IT! I have the tiny, cheap house life myself. It makes all the difference. Bless you lady!
Wait 33,000 for a house. I lived in London, a 2 bed apartment in zone 6 was £800,000 (eh, in your money $1.1 mil) Zone 6 is about 15 miles outside London I shared a flat in central London, there was 4 of us paying $1000 each per month (£825) The apparent next door sold for 6.3 million ($8.8) My house was only £90,000 in Glasgow and that’s cheap
Hi Sandy, I will be in Tucson next month for 2 weeks. In Tucson, people can purchase mobile homes that are very nice and extremely cheap. My girlfriend bought hers 3 years ago for $7k and it is a1972 model too. So yes, it is very possible. Thank you for your video. BTW, Iove what you did to your home in Wyoming! Wow, doesn't even look like the same place. Beautiful!❤
Great video Mrs. Sandi. Your home in WY you both done an amazing work on it its beautiful. The 2nd home will look just as beautiful when you and Mr. Joe get done with it. Yes so much people think you have to be rich. But no there is so much possibility to accomplish it. We enjoy having 2 homes and every thing paid off. But it did take think outside the box and there's nothing like having a lifestyle that is sustainable and less stressful. We have never been so happy with our choices there is certainly no regrets. Have a wonderful week.
Less house, more home! As I’m house hunting for my move, I am finding that homes in TX are more expensive than here in FL. My dream is to have a small condo in Destin after I retire and keep my home in TX.
I really like this one! We like to live cheap, not because we limit ourselves on nice things (well we do but) because it gives us more opportunity to use that money for something better. 👏
It is more than the physical location. Jet stream, mountain placement, how the geography around us is, makes it cold. It is really like a desert in Wyoming, it is high on the plains, over 6,000 feet elevation. It is like living on top of a double the height Ben Nevis.
@@MissouriCrookedBarnHomestead 🤣 I’m well aware, I was being intentionally facetious. We have the Gulf Stream on the west cost so we are warmer than we have any right to be. The area around my house is classified as temperate rainforest
@@suburbanhomesteaderwy-az Plowing finally started today. I flagged down a huge tractor with plow, someone not of the city, and he came over and plowed my driveway. We have a 4X4 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but it couldn't jump up on top of the snow to roll out of the garage...LOL. Some melted today, but not very much. It has been hovering right at 32 degrees, so it's still really at freezing temps. We managed to get our snow blower going today, it hasn't been started in 10 years, and made a few paths.
I think your small house is charming. I'd rather have land than. abig house anyway 😉
I totally agree Mickenzie.

Sylvia, I am praying for you! Having a place at the coast would be fabulous for you. I am also going to pray that God works that home out for you.

@@monana8706 Thanks Sandi,
Your prayers are appreciated and nice to know you understand as kindred spirits. 💖😉
A summer and winter house sounds nice.
Planning for the future.
You hit the nail on the head when you said a person doesn’t need to keep up with the Jones! A person only has to do what makes them happy!
Thank you Peg. The choices that we make.

Wow Rick that is amazing. You can do it.
Glad you are able to escape the ice sheets! Our family has so many animals it's hard to get away fro more than a day. 🐖🐓🐐
Hi @Vineyard Chicks, We gave away our animals to friends as we would be gone to long. That was hard.

Some wise advises here Sandi. We build our own retirement house right now. We... I mean... my husband here mostly... love my 2014 RAM 1500!

You reminded me of my mother, is the way she used to live. I loss her on February 5, from the Coronavirus 😔. Love your channel
I'm sorry to hear about your Mother. I am sending prayers for you.
Hi Sandi, what is the lot rent you're paying in the community if you don't mind?
There is only an assessment fee of $150 a year. Everyone owns their home and land. Taxes are around 300 a year.

Wyoming... cold?
It’s on the same parallel as France!
I’m in Glasgow, Scotland, that’s the same parallel as Moscow, Russia, or Alaska and Canada
