能夠唱得令人感動，並不是歌唱技巧有多高，以當時而言，葉倩文、林憶蓮實力在伯仲之間，林後來當然愈來愈佳，遠拋離葉，只是林從來唱歌都用心，嚴謹以待每次表演，不若葉的草率馬虎，就算屬自己的歌曲，都聽出其hea，每句歌的尾音最易察覺。
