Jeg kjente meg igjen i deler av din tale. Takk for de fine ordene. Takk for at du er kongen. Takk for at du gir håp. Jeg ønsker deg og dine kjære et godt nytt år!
Wait ..Norway has the same National Anthem as the UK GOD save the Queen but just in Norwegian ??! Did not know that ..Happy New Year Norway and the Royal Family💙 👑💙
No, the national anthem is "Ja, vi elsker” - the one you refer to is only used for the monarch. The Norwegian royal house is derived from the Danish, Swedish and British ones.
It‘s the norwegian Royal anthem. It just used the same melody as god safe the queen. The melody was and is quite popular for various anthems, not just for the british. The Norwegian Royal anthem, the current national anthem of Liechtenstein, former anthems of Switzerland, Iceland, the Russian Empire and the German Empire and a patriotic american song (my country, ‘tis of thee) all use or have used the same melody.
God save the King in this case. Yes the melody is the same, but not the text. At the time of Harald's birth, he was 2nd in line of succession to the Norwegian throne following his father, Crown Prince Olav; and also was 16th in line of succession to the British throne as a descendant of Queen Victoria through his paternal grandmother, Queen Maud.
Godt nytt år! Lenge leve Norge

It is not our national anthem is the royal anthem.
No, the national anthem is "Ja, vi elsker” - the one you refer to is only used for the monarch. The Norwegian royal house is derived from the Danish, Swedish and British ones.
His Majesty the King of Norway is the great-grandson of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom and second cousin of Elizabeth II.
Why do they sing God Save the Queen? Or rather what song is that and why to GSTQ music?
It‘s the norwegian Royal anthem. It just used the same melody as god safe the queen. The melody was and is quite popular for various anthems, not just for the british.
The Norwegian Royal anthem, the current national anthem of Liechtenstein, former anthems of Switzerland, Iceland, the Russian Empire and the German Empire and a patriotic american song (my country, ‘tis of thee) all use or have used the same melody.
Because His Majesty the King of Norway is the great-grandson of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom and second cousin of Elizabeth II.
God Save the Queen?

It is our royal anthem. God save the queen is not from Britain but from other countries a as well. I reckon it is a pattern between kingdoms
Godt nytt år!
