I think they make the ad slot in the transmitter so that you can take it out of the drone and see the footage on location
If you want a solid micro, which also has racing capabilities. Get the f1-4b from armattan. It's a 175mm frame which carries 4 inch props (and it can have 22xx motors, as an option) I am building this now for my father's birthday. They have life time warranty on their frames and they look awesome. I would really check them out if I were you Andy, that would make one hell of a build vid.
the idea of these micros is that they can be flown inside however u are right the h107d+ isn't ideal for inside
well I got it but I'm having trouble with the throttle. in the park it was awesome but inside it won't react to throttle. then it goes full throttle. definitely an outdoor quad I think.

I like the D+ so much I actually bought a second one. I really like how quiet and stealthy it is. I use mine to pop straight up above the treeline letting altitude hold keep it pretty level,put it in headless mode,and then yaw it around for a nice panoramic view of what's going on where I can't see. I've yet to have a single dropped video feed while doing this as it's only about maybe 30-35 yards (roughly 100 feet) and straight over head. Anyways,this Hubsan is amazing and if you can find one New and under $50 it's a steal.

I'm glad you also have the same issue as I do regarding the altitude hold indoors. I've just got one of these and wanted to practice FPV indoors in the winter but the altitude hold is rubbish - mine just keeps bobbing up and down like it can't figure out it's altitude. I took it outside and almost lost the thing, took it about 80 feet high and was pulling the throttle down for it to lower it's altitude and it just kept climbing - thankfully there was a tree which it ran into and then came tumbling down - I really wish there was a hack to switch off the barometer

actually dude a little drop while coming out of altitude hold mode is true to bigger quadcopters as well its not a fault tho it could be fixed I guess as it does sometimes catch people of guard

Thanks for the video! Just ordered a H107D+. Seems that this new quad is really perfect for ppl like me who is looking for a small and stable video platform. I really appreciate the altitude hold mode. Too bad the lights can't be turned off to extend the flight time. 6 min seems a little short.
I know on the original H107D let you turn off the lights, so maybe there is a way
Another great review Andy. A bit disappointed they changed the protocol. I bought the original 107D separate and flew it with a Spyhawk FPV controller, later purchasing the 107D FPV controller on EBay for £10. I have to agree with others that the inclusion of a barometer to effect flight is OTT. My Vortex has a barometer primarily to show altitude in the OSD. It can be enabled to provide altitude hold but this detracts from the true purpose of the quad and severely compromises its flying agility. Maybe Hubsan should have provided a way to disable it. I also shudder to think what the price of the propriety battery, when available, will be.

NO.... didnt have the money to buy one... I got to see one though. So it bought the cheaper version without fpv. :-) But I kinda felt the same as you... In my review i actually say this one is not a beginner quad because its not that easy to fly with altitud hold as it sounds. Especially not with winds, because it aint easy to get down again. lol. I mean I am happy I have been flying quads for some times now, so I kinda get it down in one piece. lol

I have one of these coming on Monday. super excited. I haven't soldered since school though, is adding the lipo to the rx easy?
also what is mode 3? I'm quite noobish and as I understand it mode 1 is throttle on right, mode 2 (my mode) is throttle on right is that right? if so what is 3????
I'm going to attempt the range mods I've seen on here. although I may just dremel the stock antenna outside the rx.
either way can't wait. Getting it for a bargain 40 quid brand new too ;-)

if you google RC modes and look at google images it will best show what they are. very difficult to get it from text.

I don't have anything with a camera, I have used my iPhone taped to my 200qx just to see what it looked like, not as bad as you might think,,,,it is hard to answer a call. Thanks Andy, love the channel.As an fpv newbie, I went and bought one too, thought it would be the answer! but meh... I couldn't dependably throttle down or disarm when crashed occasionally, wasn't fun to fly like the 108C, and no bumpers, felt sluggish, no spare batteries anywhere, and they loose connection on some impacts, so no lights or sound (rev) so it can get lost easily, vertical drift, but great video and better outside if there is no wind at all, needs a diet. Overall not quite what I wanted (250 style fun but without the horrendous potential consequences) :( ... maplin were kind enough to take it back, so thumbs up for them.So I'm going to take the plunge and build one following from your videos, is there a micro frame that you would recommend at the moment? I was have seen the picnic quads ones, which look nice, and also the mwm 135?
Would you recommend goggles straightaway for FPV or do you think a screen on a tx first?
I have seen you enjoyed the taranis, is that still a good bet?This will be the more expensive way, but hopefully with gear i can move from model to model.
+Simon Rood Hey Simon thanks for supporting the channel. Yes I like to use the picnicquads frames. I have to say that with micros I find myself always using the goggles rather than TFT. Its because i dont have to worry so much about the quad going down as they are light weight. Fatsharks are far from perfect though and I do think they are a rip off, I bought them expecting more. check out my fatshark dominator 2 review on the channel. they would be perfect if they were 150 dollars less than they are! so thats up to you. cheers again

I got this but i find it to start really fast, I also ordered a H107C+ that seems more stable. where is the link to the FPV hack for the H107C+? Do you find them similar? Have you tried UDI 818? want to get something to learn and then get something better for images like Breeze (price dropped, will the Spark compete with it?) or Winsgsland S6. Brilliant review! very thorough....Have you tried modding it to add the old battery? Or have any tips on how to do so? I see a few sites have the proprietary battery available to preorder but cant find any external charger for it
+Wayne McMahon the problem with doing that is the battery falling out as theres no end cap. really need to wait until the battery comes as a spare part so we can take an end cap off it. but the battery mod would be easy. just three pins. ones a dud the others ground and voltage
Hi, is the cam leveled with the for that straight view or is there a tilt downwards ? And seeing the video is good, how is the picture quality for this quad ? As I am looking for a small quad that can take good decent pictures, if there are others i don't know about that you can recommend.. Thanks in advance..

@AndyRC At 17:58-18:16 you mention a black screen. I just purchased a H107+ 4 days ago. It was perfect, but now I have the black screen you mentioned :( I noticed in your video (and on my transmitter) that the microphone icon with the red X over is missing when the black screen condition occurs. With mine, I noticed that if I push the antenna back into the white casing on the H107D+ copter (it wiggles a bit naturally in and out) the picture will come back the next time I turned the system on and off. I'm guessing this means it is the antenna housing.
+Michael Barrett the black video on mine is caused by the transmitter not been turned on first. however if you are wiggling wires and bringing a picture back it sounds like something else is wrong. check out my dismantle video on how to check if the antenna came loose
The proprietary battery eliminates it from my consideration. Not to happy with altitude hold either.
I'm from the U.S. and I'm looking into buying my first FPV quadcopter, has to be under $200, do you have any recommendations? So far with all the research I've done the Hubsan X4 H107D seems to be the one.

non of the rtf quadcopters are perfect. the h107d original version has a very narrow field of view. this one has wider field of view but less range. my first quad was the h107d however

Hey Andy! I want to tell you that I'm into a drones and fpv for a month now and I watch different youtubers every day but you are my favorite one. I have a question about that done. what is the signal range? I am looking for a mini fpv done like this with nice fpv, altitude hold video recording and nice signal range would be appreciated. This one seems to be good or you maybe would recommend me a different one?
this one will only work for about 50 meters i found. the 502S is much better
AndyRC thank you for your reply. Well. I would like to use it indoor too. I know this one is not perfect for it but h502s won't do it at all because of size. And to be honest I would go for h501s if I would look for outdoor fpv worth gps. It will be bit more expensive but better. What do you think?

+Jon Waaler its not a good one for this wind this one. best on a calm day and it does drisft if you do not put inputs. i would suggest a gps held quad for that such as the h501S but its more expensive. cheers

Sometimes my 107D+ does not have video on transmitter when i bind. The quad will still fly as normal, then poof sometimes it works. As u can imagine it is ideally frustrating, especially in beautiful sunny weather (such as now 😡)..any ideas or tips, thx...

An lvc that lands instantly is pretty well useless. What if you are over a roof, tree, or water?
I have a h107d+ but the voltage warning is shot I think, The low battery flashing lights came on and I thought it was low batt, I charged the battery, same thing. I bought a new battery brand new from banggood and its having the same problem, any help?

When you fly indoor, does the quad has the tendency to keep rising up to the ceiling? Mine does, and I find it strange. I never thought the altitude hold is so unreliable.

i love hubsan products, so naturally when I was looking for an indoor/winter flyer, the H107D+ was my initial goto. But EVERYONE says the Altitude-Hold is crap. And until JJRC or Eachine comes out with a Whoop with Altitude-Hold I'm kind of stuck for my indoor flyer solution...

for indoor fpv alt hold is no use. id suggest getting one without alt hold indoors. they use barometers to measure the difference in air pressure which is fine for outside but indoors it cannot be accurate enough

hey andy, its ok when my quadcopter always falling or hit something? i'm a beginner and i'm afraid it will be broken inside (like machine, etc)
its best to try a simulator first rather than risk breaking the quad. the H107d plus is not indestructible the camera stopped working on mine after a bad crash

Whats the difference between the H107D+ and the H107C+ with FPV? They both come with the transmitter with 4" monitor.
the h107c+ doesn't have fpv it only has on board record and you have to fly it line of sight without video feed. there's no monitor on the transmitter with the h107c if somewhere has listed it with that then its wrong

hey, nice tutorial. I have a question. I recently bought this and after some test flights (and crashes!) it seems that when ever i take the quad off (by pressing the throttle up) the ground it doesnt ascend vertically rather moving forward very quickly. This makes it very hard to keep controlling it and usually i crash it few seconds after take off.
Have you notice something similar? I did the calibration of the accelometer and of the controller but still the same issue.
Any feedback would be much appreciated as i am planning to return the damn thing back to the seller!
it could be that the board has become dislodged in the crash or the trim got knocked. I cant think of anything else if you already calibrated it. hope you get it working cheers
