  • This is my review of the 2005 Dragon FLAK 36 kit. Mine was missing the crew figures and brass rounds, so I don't cover them in this review.
The kit is amazingly well engineered and complex. Not for the uninitiated.

Thanks for the review Adam. I have the AFV club Flak 18 and it is a masterful piece of plastic engineering. I have noticed your channel is growing quicky ..well done you have put in the work and it shows. Congratulations on the 500 subs.

TacticalJackalope Thanks Andy. Yeah the channel seems to have a mind of it's own, But I do put a lot of work in to each video, and I think that matters to people.

Great review again Adam, I've got the #6287 and just finished the #6523 a couple of weeks ago, loved it, looks like enough parts left to build another 88! lol
Eager to jump on the #6287, but I want a halftrack to go with it....
Keep them awesome review videos coming, they're bloody brilliant! 👌👍👏
    All the best,
    Jan

Another very nice and accurate Dragon kit.......one difference between the Flak 18 and 36/37 is the bogie trucks, they're not really the Flak 18 bogies but it really doesn't matter.
The Flak 18 ones are shaped a little different. Cruciform etc is the same.
One thing I don't like is the wire for the communication reels, a bit think in my opinion.
The crew was released as a separate item a few years ago.
Thanks for posting. I'm one of those who never built the kit but I did build the AFV club Flak 18.

milky55way2012 I had heard that about the 18, that this wasn't really an accurate build up of that. How di dyou like the AFV Club one?

Hi Adam, I liked it a lot but if I remember there was an issue with the equilibrators (part over the gun barrel) if I recall correctly, the fit seemed a bit weird. I used a Voyager PE set for it. Never assembled the bogie trucks.
The engineering was terrific though. It's currently in pieces in my display case....heheh

I want to try some AFV Club stuff, but I can't seem to get anything but Dragon.

At least it came with metal barrels. I got mine on dragonusaonline on daily deal price for about 30. Unfortunately this was a rerelease and it did not come with any of the metal except PE. Normally the website updates their descriptions and takes off all the pictures of stuff that came in the original but was removed later. This time they didn't so I had thought I was getting metal barrels and brass cylinders, rounds because they advertised the kit still with the metal.

+Julius Hochmuth I buy a bit of stuff from them and have had similar issues. It's the only real problem with daily deals. If you ahve proof that it was listed stuff you could try dragoncare.

dalton vickers My pleasure. You should try one. May I suggest the Panzer III or StuG III G series. They are what got me hooked. Not too complicated, but a nice introduction.

@@AdamMann3D I have one I bought years ago everything is still there including crew. Though wish they had offered either a DAK crew option or Luftwaffe AA gun crew.

It would be nice to see a completed model. Like after you reviewed a kit.

D Ringquist When I started doing this my plan was to do an in-box before the build and what I call a "post-mortem" after the build is finished. Since I started doing the in-box reviews I've only built the StuG I'm doing now. So as it's almost done I will put up a video soon of that after construction but before paint. Just to discuss instruction mistakes (which are common in Dragon kits) and problems I encountered. I plan to do this for all the kits I review.

I have always wondered what those wheels on top of the bogies were used for?

Nice review - looking forward to your build video...I just started today Tamiya's version of this model. I'm glad I started that before trying this one, although I do favor Dragon models but sometimes those tiny little pieces get aggravating. Good luck.

Adam if you had to pick one of the Flak's from Dragon, which one would you go for....

      @AdamMann3D  8 лет назад

They are all very similar. This is the easiest to god so it ins a little less money. So probably this one.

He had glue them back on iv been successful so far my first doing PE aswell omg the bolts on the brackets can hardly see them n want you to bend 4 in half just got it done feel like Edward scissorhands with all the tweezers haha !

a massive kit, just like it is supposed to be :) good review! i´m glad you found it for a good price, the missing parts like figures and so on do not really matter. in that case i would consider to build it in travel mode and put a halftrack in front of it.
i built the kit, here is the vid if you are interested:

Hamilkar Barkas Thanks Michael, I wanted the kit for a long time so when a guy at the armor club had it I couldn't resist it. It's pretty high on my to do list as well. i figured you had built one at some point. Probably a shorter list of Dragon kits you haven't built.

Hi adam nice vid. I am sorry to say I have to withdraw for the stug gb as I did not get the kit in time and it is almost impossible for me to buy a kit, paint it weather etc to high standard in 5 days. Very sorry, please keep doing youtube gbs, I just need to be more organised next time
    Very sorry
    Thank you

BasicModeling Thanks, but don't give up. You have until October 1st to get and build a StuG. That's 2 months not 5 days. So you can still make it. And I'd really like it if you were able to. We're all pretty impressed with your passion and knowledge of armor.
