I have seen Lance Burton perform 3 times live...he is nothing short of amazing....and very handsome too!!! I hope I get to see him perform again before his contract is up at the Monte Carlo.....truly spectacular!!!!
Sleight of Hand at it's finest. Who cares whether 10 balls were used. Absolutely Beautiful Magic for those who Appreciate the Art of Magic. One of the Best in the business and why Mr. Burton made Millions in his career.
Lance's take on a classic trick. I love to watch a professional's interpretation of classic magic tricks. Their performance is what sets them apart from the amateur.
I love the magic of Lance Burton. Ive seen his performance several time at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. At the end of his performance he would meet and talk to the audience outside of his show room.
I have seen this trick countless times, but Lance Burton's presentation is really the best. I've also never seen anybody use a living animal for the "grand finale reveal," so that was awesome :D
The beauty of this trick is that it's simple to understand with the power of youtube - when focussing on his hands it's easy to tell when he puts the lemons and mice in - but his skill means it's no less impressive. Sheer poetry.
as a magician i sometimes wish i could just view a trick as a layperson :( i can appreciate the sheer technical mastery of lance's routines and am astonished at how fluid he is but i just can't be duped by the cups and balls any more. Im sure other magicians can relate. Gotta love lance though!!
My friends and I saw both Penn and Teller as well as Lance Burton perform in Vegas a few years ago, and I thought I would like Penn and Teller's show better, but I and my friends ended up having a better time at the Lance Burton show. Penn and Teller are definitely brilliant, but in our opinion Lance Burton was just the better showman. Just my 2 cents :-)
Basic sleight of hand, but this is done really smoothly, the wand in his hand makes him holding the balls seem natural, the ending was very unexpected though.
The first part of the trick was pretty simple but after "the interactive portion" it got pretty amazing... and I'll be damned if I can tell how and when the heck he managed to put two lemons and a mouse into those cups. :X
@JordMal I completely agree with you. I've seen Lance Burton several times (I met him once too, he's really about the nicest guy on the planet and really deserves what has). Have there been times I've figured out something he's doing? Sure, but who cares, the guy is an amazing entertainer and I certainly know I couldn't do what he does. He is funny and worth the price of admission if you want to go see him.
Really simple trick but Burton is so talented at speaking to audience that they don't even understant what's happening ! (except i don't know how to do the end !!!)
Why do people feel the need to play "look at me, I think I'm smart, I know things?" Why can't you just let it be magic? He's doing something beautiful and artistic and you can't leave it alone, can you?
It's obvious what he does if you just look a bit closer. But he's very skilled. It's all about hiding stuff in your hands - let it be a mouse, a ball or a lime. And his pockets are full of that stuff.
I finally understand it! You see... Ida is a Dark Lord and teleports the balls, lemons, and petey to their prescribed cups. She works with Lance on Sundays and they met at a cafe shop where they began their schemes. No? Okay (._. )
the way he does the first trick is a combination of french drops and a method that i dont know the name of, but its similar to the one used in coin matrix. he has four balls to start if that helps you understand
0:23 he moves 2 balls from his right hand to the 1 ball already in his left hand and shows audience once again 3 balls. 0:26 3 balls on top of cups, 1 ball in his right hand THE TRICK: 0:44 As he removes the ball under the red cup into his left hand, he sneakly places the 4th ball in his right hand back underneath the red cup. Using the pinky and ring finger. So, at 0:46 theres a cup under neath the red cup as well as on top
The ending is very simple but edited! 3:40 places the mouse from the pocket. 3:49 takes two lemons and places them in the center and right(green) cups. Also the green cup is moves between 3:40 and 3:49 so the video is edited!
Now, he makes it look like the ball disappeared at 0:54 but its still in his right hand. AND, he will now replace the ball under the white cup WITH the ball from the red cup. So he will repeat the step. And the same thing for the green cup. The ball in the green cup goes into his right hand during the 'spin of wand' trick to hide the movement. So, he lifts all three cups to show 3 balls, he alternates the places of 3 balls with 1 extra ball
edin shealtiel No, but they way this is performed is obviously inspired by Dai Vernon.. Music is thousands of years old, but inspiration is still taken from the modern era of it.. xD
When he looks like he puts the ball in his left hand, he actually keeps it and holds onto it while getting the wand. After it looks like its disappeared and he grabs the next ball, watch his right hand as he lifts the cup. He's putting the old ball underneath.
It's the difference between knowing how a trick is done and knowing how to do the trick. The first, obvious, and if you know what to look for it's glaring, but the second part just takes a level of dedication most armchair critics just aren't up to
3:35 when he explains how the trick is done he's getting the mouse and 2 lemons out from his back pocket and transferring them to the cups all while maintaining the original misdirection.
@cstviz I saw dai vernon's version of this trick and its much harder to detect what is going on. THis speaks about the skill level between lance burton and dai vernon. Lance may only be good live, but vernon can pull it off even on camera
@screamoboy96 the mouse was in a part of his jacket at the back. when he makes a big deal about the ball in his hand at 3:44 hes actually taking the mouse out and placing it in his hand then goes on to place it under the cup at 3:40 just below the table.
@JordMal Yeah this is all standard stuff, I can do all of this including the Mora-vernon wand spin and drop which I bet YOU can't do. I've done loads of shows with the cups. Anyone ask me how any of this is done and I will expose it for you and tell you variations. Lets all learn and expose magic!
Heelfan cant do it better, otherwise he wouldnt be revealing on youtube. At least lance didnt reveal in a publc forum whether it was used in jargon or not.
Fantastic presentation of this routine. I love the extra surprises.
I have seen Lance Burton perform 3 times live...he is nothing short of amazing....and very handsome too!!! I hope I get to see him perform again before his contract is up at the Monte Carlo.....truly spectacular!!!!
such a simple trick, but when it performed by a master it turns into an art.
good point Matthew
superb job on the wand spin vanish, nothing basic about THAT!!!
Yeah, I thought he was going to do the wand through hand. This was amazing. Best move of the entire routine.
just noticed that he does a body turn from Right to Left during the Wand Spin...I've not seen that B4.
Sleight of Hand at it's finest. Who cares whether 10 balls were used. Absolutely Beautiful Magic for those who Appreciate the Art of Magic. One of the Best in the business and why Mr. Burton made Millions in his career.
An amazing performance, as a magician we know how it's done but the performance was amazing loved it.
Lance's take on a classic trick. I love to watch a professional's interpretation of classic magic tricks. Their performance is what sets them apart from the amateur.
i love his magic and he is just so smooth, and i exactly know how all of this is done, its just Sleight of hand, and lance Burton is perfect at it
I love the magic of Lance Burton. Ive seen his performance several time at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. At the end of his performance he would meet and talk to the audience outside of his show room.
the third ball vanish is just excellent
Always a pleasure to watch Lance perform a classic of magic. :)
Juan Tamariz is my favorite magician, but this was well done. Lance is a boss. The rat was a nice touch. There is some obvious Vernon love here.
I love watching this for the first time and seeing all the secrets as they happen. Magical for me.
Fantastic skills and lovely presentation!!! Lance is one of the best magicians of all times. Period. :-))
Saw him last Sat. (8/24/19) & met him afterwards. A class act all the way. He was on the Lane Burton & friends tour
I have seen this trick countless times, but Lance Burton's presentation is really the best. I've also never seen anybody use a living animal for the "grand finale reveal," so that was awesome :D
Lance Burton is VERY talented. He deserves all the fame.
Just great. It is much harder to do the cups and balls with regular coffee cups, it is great to see that Lance did it faultlessly.
very simple, beautifully done. just goes to show magic doesn't have to be flashy to be great.
Saw Lance Burton performed live at the Monte Carlo hotel-casino in LV during summer 2010(Lance last magic show year).
The beauty of this trick is that it's simple to understand with the power of youtube - when focussing on his hands it's easy to tell when he puts the lemons and mice in - but his skill means it's no less impressive. Sheer poetry.
I luv how much of a smart ass Lance is lol
LANCE BURTON IS A BOSS
i know how its done, but this is so amazing how skilled he is not doing any mistake.... which is very hard in front of so many people
Face it Lance Burton is one of the best!!
as a magician i sometimes wish i could just view a trick as a layperson :(
i can appreciate the sheer technical mastery of lance's routines and am astonished at how fluid he is but i just can't be duped by the cups and balls any more. Im sure other magicians can relate. Gotta love lance though!!
The trick itself is very easy to understand, however this guy does it amazingly!
The cups and balls is the most simple trick of all. I think that even a small child can understand it (especially if he wathches this several times).
Excellent Lance!
Brilliant execution :)
At 3:19 slips in lemon in the green cup, at 3:40 mouse in the red cup and at 3:51 lemon in the blue one...
great routine, mouse was a nice touch
The "D.V." wand spin was beautiful. Possibly better than the professor himself.
My friends and I saw both Penn and Teller as well as Lance Burton perform in Vegas a few years ago, and I thought I would like Penn and Teller's show better, but I and my friends ended up having a better time at the Lance Burton show. Basic sleight of hand, but this is done really smoothly, the wand in his hand makes him holding the balls seem natural, the ending was very unexpected though.
such a simple trick masterfully performed and presented, which is the real magic, not the fact the balls disappear and re-appear
i did this trick in a wedding, while i've learned directly from this video.. Great trick i love it
It's all perfection and skill which I have none of for this stuff go lance and other great magicians
The first part of the trick was pretty simple but after "the interactive portion" it got pretty amazing... and I'll be damned if I can tell how and when the heck he managed to put two lemons and a mouse into those cups. :X
Beautiful!!
Nice routine!
1.29 one of the best slieghts i have ever seen
@JordMal bravo! i hate it when people reveal magic tricks online especially ones that are expensive and worth buying the info.
Very nice Lance!
Now do that, Criss Angel.
He is funny and worth the price of admission if you want to go see him.
the transfer at 1:30 is really well done.
I think he is the best.
Simply charming
Really simple trick but Burton is so talented at speaking to audience that they don't even understant what's happening !
(except i don't know how to do the end !!!)
Why do people feel the need to play "look at me, I think I'm smart, I know things?" Why can't you just let it be magic? He's doing something beautiful and artistic and you can't leave it alone, can you?
3:38 is when he puts the mouse in the cup. if you go back and watch his hands you can see when he puts the lemons in. that's some serious skill though
@LucaTurilli89 its from 2 different shows. but they didnt cut the recording to do any changes, its just from two shows.. thats why the cup is moved
MASTER OF MAGIC!!!
!!! MASTER OF MAGIC !!!
At 2:22 he grabs the ball fromn his arm pit and places it under the red cup.
Really smooth
It's obvious what he does if you just look a bit closer. But he's very skilled. It's all about hiding stuff in your hands - let it be a mouse, a ball or a lime. And his pockets are full of that stuff.
very nice!!!!!!!!
I finally understand it!

@MrMZaccone Beautiful routine i must say!
0:23 he moves 2 balls from his right hand to the 1 ball already in his left hand and shows audience once again 3 balls.
0:26 3 balls on top of cups, 1 ball in his right hand
THE TRICK:

i think every magician in the world knows how it´s done. but if the trick is so well done like here, you still will be amazed.
I can see what he's doing, but damn, it's impressive.
100usd show :)
worth evert penny :)
Balls go in, mouse comes out.
You can't explain that.
The ending is very simple but edited! 3:40 places the mouse from the pocket. 3:49 takes two lemons and places them in the center and right(green) cups. Also the green cup is moves between 3:40 and 3:49 so the video is edited!
Grande Burton !

i love how at the end he throws the lemon at aida and tells her to have some lemonade rofl
I love this. It's blatantly a nod to Dai Vernon's performance.
so vernon's 5000 years old....
edin shealtiel No, but they way this is performed is obviously inspired by Dai Vernon.. Music is thousands of years old, but inspiration is still taken from the modern era of it.. xD
K0DeX ok. the music is 4999 years old bye the way....
*facedesk*
When he looks like he puts the ball in his left hand, he actually keeps it and holds onto it while getting the wand. After it looks like its disappeared and he grabs the next ball, watch his right hand as he lifts the cup. He's putting the old ball underneath.
someone know the name of the vanish at 2:23? I really like it!
Keep your eyes on the 2 balls!!!LOL!!!
Absolute Master
Brilliant.
Paul Daniels brought me hear!
suppa guppa buppa.super

Yeah, you can see his moves, but he's good at them.
That man is amazing! dude i know how to do the first part but not the way he does! hahaha
@cstviz I saw dai vernon's version of this trick and its much harder to detect what is going on. THis speaks about the skill level between lance burton and dai vernon. Lance may only be good live, but vernon can pull it off even on camera
Best magician
That's right pal!
@screamoboy96 the mouse was in a part of his jacket at the back. when he makes a big deal about the ball in his hand at 3:44 hes actually taking the mouse out and placing it in his hand then goes on to place it under the cup at 3:40 just below the table.

Actually, he just uses distraction and sleight of hand to place objects into the cups the good old fashion way, you can catch it if you are quick.
When life gives you lemons . . . make magic.
Heelfan cant do it better, otherwise he wouldnt be revealing on youtube. At least lance didnt reveal in a publc forum whether it was used in jargon or not.
Insane!!!
i love it
Imagine being that mouse. Appearing and thinking o.O lulwut?
i've did it a few times during perfvormance show with citrus
that mouse is cute for some reason.
Thanks to pen and teller, I saw all his moves.
WHAT THE FUCK HOW DOES HE DO IT
Nice
