This is the true story about a tragic event in Nov. 1975 on Lake Superior - NOT 'whimsical' at all. All proceeds and royalties went to the wives and the sons and the daughters of the men lost. Now, go back and listen without interrupting to get the full context.
Lake Superior, to be exact... It actually sank in the Canadian waters of Lake Superior, and, to this day, we protect that site from divers, scavengers, souvenir hunters, etc... we consider to be a burial ground, and treat it with the reverence it deserves.

"Patriot" is a good description for Lightfoot - a Canadian patriot. His "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" is a masterpiece and first performed to kick off Canada's Centennial in 1967. He was a brilliant story-teller.
Lightfoot History, Family Crest & Coats of Arms Origins Available: England England Ireland Ireland Scotland Scotland The name Lightfoot is of Anglo-Saxon origin. It was name for a swift runner. The surname Lightfoot is derived from the Old English words leoht, which means light, and fot, which means foot. 1 Occasionally, this name was applied as an occupational surname to a messenger. 2 "The name 'Martin with the Light Foot' is said to have been given to one of the followers of the Saxon hero Hereward, on account of his swiftness, but the modern English name is probably corrupted from the local name Lydford co. Devon." 3 Lydford is an ancient Saxon village dating back to 997 when it "sustained severe injury from the Danes, who, after the destruction of Tavistock Abbey, burnt forty of the houses in the town." 4 Known as Hlydanforda c. 1000 and later as Lideforda in the Domesday Book of 1086 5, it literally meant "ford over the River Lyd." 6
I know you are trying to trigger people by saying everything is gay. ..to me that is just sad. Maybe you should try a real reaction for a change, and that would not be gay unless you are, but then that's your choice, not a problem
Just stopping by to say your channel name and commentary is such a gimmicky turn-off. If you're trying to be funny, it's not working. If you're going for self-promotion, which it seems like you are, that doesn't seem to be working either. Joined YT in 2011 (not sure when you started posting) - and have 214 subscribers. Good luck getting to 300 some fine day.
Well Karen, I only started doing these reactions a couple weeks ago. Subs more than doubled in that time so I guess SOMEBODY enjoyed it on some level. It is not as impressive as you having 4 subs despite having no content, I'll grant you that. Enjoy being a basic white lady named Karen. Sounds fun.
I can tell from the comments below that you have, shall we say. a diversity of reactions. I laughed at times--I'm just not sure whether or not I was laughing with you or at you. In any case, it's treacherous territory to do personas when reacting to a video where there are potentially dozens if not hundreds of living family members of those who died in the wreck who could watch your video.
I knew the song was about an actual wreck, as I said, but to be honest I always assumed it was about a wreck from further back in time than the 70's. I didn't realize he was memorializing something that had just happened like a 9-11 tribute song. Either way, in this case I was just fulfilling a request from a friend, letting them know if the song was gay or not and I found it to be very not gay. I can't pay it a much higher compliment than that. Wasn't setting out to offend, at least in this case. Glad you smiled.
No, it is not. Gordon Lightfoot is of Scottish decent. "English (mainly northern England, especially Cheshire): nickname for a messenger or for a fast runner, from Middle English lyght 'light, nimble, quick' (Old English līoht) + fote 'foot'."

What are we not teaching our youth. Gordon passed away last year, and they rang the bell 30 times, each man plus Gordon.

I believe Lightfoot is an indigenous name.
Nope, he's of Scottish decent.

It is not hard to understand why you have less than 250 subscribers
post up some gay content of your own and teach me how to get those gay subscribers. i'll take notes. teach me the ways of gay, steve.
Gordon Lightfoot had many great songs
This is based on a true story and your an adult so stop throwing the word gay around!
Don’t be gay
The church bell rang 30 times when Gordon died, for each man plus Gordon
you seem unusually focused on who is gay and to what extent. what's up with that?
I know you are trying to trigger people by saying everything is gay.
..to me that is just sad. Maybe you should try a real reaction for a change, and that would not be gay unless you are, but then that's your choice, not a problem
He’s wearing a Dolly Parton tee.

Try seasons in the sun by Terry jacks
Is this what people mean when they say "tell us you're gay without saying you're gay?"
This is the least gay song of all time.
Are you seriously using “gay” as a pejorative?
Gordon is turning in his grave.
I doubt his ghost cares much about my RUclips channel or vocabulary tbh
You need help
Staged. He has already heard the song.
lmaoo i said I heard it in grade school in the reaction. don't be gay
Would like to hear your reaction to anything by Angelina Jordan!! A new superstar
He shouldn't do these things when he's high on pot but what all he is saying I think he's stupid.
That is an American Indian name.
