I once had a job interview with a background investigator (who was very late to the interview) that asked me how much money I have in my savings account. I am not kidding. He probably already pre-determined during the interview that he wouldn't recommend me to move on in the hiring process so he asked me that question. What an a-hole.
ME NEITHER! They tend to dislike the video the second it's uploaded, which is more a reflection of their negative personality than my videos :) Thanks for your support! Richard
Pay no mind to the negativity. Richard already helped me to get a job and is now trying to help me to get a better paying job. I appreciate each and every one of these videos.
Jealousy ! Richard is doing well and has millions of subscribers and people don’t like it. And there are a bunch of random sadistic people who simply subscribe and every time a new video is posted, they simply keep disliking it. But don’t worry we’re here to support. We’ll like Richards videos always. And appreciate his dedication to creating useful content every time. Have a Good day !
RED FLAG # 9: When I asked the owner of the company about the salary offer and the owner replied to me "I don't know. I really don't know for now". Okay, I said when do you want me to start? Owner said "Tomorrow".....Kaboom! Owner wants me to start without offering me anything about the salary! I called her the next business day and I said sorry I can't do the job. bye!
I had a job interview where the interviewer was 20 minutes late and didn’t even apologise. They also didn’t answer my question properly when I asked about the salary. They offered me the job but I rejected them 😂 I decided when they were 20 minutes late with no reason/apology that they weren’t the company for me. How could they question me about time management etc even they couldn’t even turn up to an interview on time?
I love this! The advice on interviews barely ever considers how they should be selling ME the job at the same time that I'm selling my own skills for the role
I applied for a job and was called for an interview. It was a panel interview of 4, to my surprise. Lots of "what would you do in this type of situation?" So at the end they ask, "any questions?" And, I said, "don't y'all think this is a bit much for a bartending gig at the stadium?" The lady says we are not interviewing you for the bartending job in the VIP lounge, we are considering hiring you as part of the sales team to sell hockey tickets for our NHL team." I cracked up and they cracked up. I got the job too. Best sales experience ever. True story.
Thank you for taking my advice in doing a video like this. I went to 7 govt companies and I noticed a trend in their interview line of questioning that I found extremely odd. 1. What are my political affiliations 2. What are names of my siblings and what is their occupation and place of abode. 3. What jobs did my parents do. 4. None gave me the chance to ask any questions. 5. I received no feedback to this day on how the interview went.
I interviewed with Facebook over a year ago and it was quite a shock. Everyone I interviewed with was great until I got to the hiring manager at the end. He didn't pay attention to any of my answers, made bad facial expressions and body language. When I asked him questions at the end, I asked about culture and brought Facebooks values. He immediately stated why does everyone ask me these questions, its stupid. And didn't know any of the company values. He put me on hold to look up the values then gave me a vague answer. I was shocked, it was a big let down as the experience was horrible with him. I would never want a reporting manager like to work for. I don't know such a person would of had a VP role. I left very disappointed and knew right away I wouldn't get the job.
Those questions to ask the interviewer at red flag number 7 are Really good. I just got fired so I'm watching a lot of these videos and this is the first one I've seen in 3 weeks that actually has something constructive to ask them. Totally writing those down
@@CareerVidz I was in massage therapy but my boss fired me, lied about why she fired me and now I'm banned from working for that entire corporation for the rest of my life.
I had an interview a day ago, and I really had a great interview. The panelists kept on praising my responses that I was giving them the right answers. I have you to thank for your GREAT interview tips. Keep on the good work sir. I will get back to you on the outcome.
@@CareerVidz When the hiring manager calls you and ask one single question "when can you start?"... And if you answer "As soon as possible"... And i'm hired..BUT based on my experience even if it feels like a GREEN FLAG that the manager SKIPPED THE INTERVIEW AND JUST HIRE YOU LIKE THAT... it is actually A RED FLAG because of the hidden TURNOVER.
I recently had a job interview, where the hiring manager asked me if I had a family, any kids and their age. The minute he asked I felt awful about working there. Why does my personal life matter to your facility. 😒. I won’t accept even if they call me. Thanks for the video. This was very helpful.
I worked for a housing association for fourteen years, and I applied for a management role with in the company. The interview was done byvusing Teams, the hiring manager referred to me as the Krays, as I wear a suite for the interview. I reported this issue to my manager after the interview. My manager told me to find another job. I raised this matter to HR. I had a joint meeting with HR and my line manager, the out come was I was placed on a Pip. I started to watch your videos for a month and I was offered four job offers with in a management role. I still watch your videos to keep updated with new management techniques. Many thanks
I got one for you..I was applying for a security Officer and the person who was doing the interview said " we need attractive people to work the state building ". Never mind i have over 16 years experience. I felt so bad and it took me an hour to get to the interview.
I'm sorry. Professionalism in the security has been taking a nose dive for a while. The industry has helped me earn money while taking classes but its getting out of hand now.
I had a telephone interview last week. I prepared (using your excellent advice) waited for the allotted time.... The interviewer did not call. I called the agency I got the interview through and they said the interviewer thought the interview was for today. This feels like a 🚩
I had 2 different interviews with 2 different companies. Old Karen A kept asking me questions aggressively. When I gave her the answer, she would make some really subjective comments and look so angry. Old Karen B was acting so arrogant and we had a quick chat, she asked me which region do I look after ( I am Asian living in a western country), she doubted my ability to handle English conversations even the majority of my territory is English speak western countries. And the end of the interview, she was so dismissive and said something like oh usually the first interview wouldn’t be too long. If you have any questions, I will get the recruiter answered it for ya. ( she meant don’t bother her about anything. Just go to the recruiter if you have any questions) At first, I felt so embarrassed and thought how could they be so disrespectful and dismissive. But afterwards, I understand that old Karens who have this type of attitude wouldn’t live a happy life either even they are the hiring mangers. So I just let it go and keep moving forward.
Thanks for this vid. content. I can share some of the red flags I have experienced: 1- Hiring manager starts of the interview venting their frustrations and expressing their expectations and demands of the person who would be hired for the role (and none of the things they said during her huffing and puffing fiasco introduction were listed on the job description. 2- When a hiring manager say things like "You/or people here" "cannot say it's not my job" "you will wear many hats" "Everyone here does everything." "We are like a family." Anything that indicates you are expected to put your head down, have zero boundaries, and obey commands, or be berated/fired. 3- They do not carve our time for your questions at the end. They say there is no more time and don't offer to answer them at all, or say you can just "email them your questions." Well in that case... they could have "emailed their questions to you as well". This seems very hypocrite to me. 4- You feel uncomfortable and tense around your potential boss/bosses. It's normal to feel a little nervousness during an interview, but if you just feel like you want to squirm in your chair and leave immediately. It's likely this will not change later on. Listen to your intuition, many times our "feelings" are actually logical cues we picked up on and are processing. 5- You have excellent, carefully planned out questions that are relevant, solid, and professional, and your inquiry is met with disdain, sarcasm, side glances, pretty much anything negative or with shady vague answers. For example, I once asked "How can a person in this role get a positive and high score on their eval. performance review" Their answer: *annoyed tone* By doing their job. Me:.... Um ok. My other question is, what does this section of the role entail as it is not very detailed or specific. Their answer: I do not understand your question. We have xyz systems in place for blah blah (had nothing to do with what I asked about this specific role." 6- When nearly all of their answers to your questions have the phrase "well it depends" - if a job always entails an "it depends" and nothing clear and concise, you're in for one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

I had an interview yesterday with a law firm. It was a bizarre interview. The first question the interviewer asked me wasn't something like 'tell me about yourself.' She just twisted her lip and said in a strange voice: 'What is this xxx law firm that you previously worked at... I've never heard of this place.' I then answered her question politely. She then asked me are you a British national; (because of my look?). I answered Yes and explained to her that I have been living in this country with my family for more than 14 years. ... She then asked me to tell her in detail what I wrote in my Master's dissertation and asked me to discuss my conclusion.... Well, I graduated in 2020- I honestly cannot quite remember anything in detail apart from my dissertation theme/ the outline and the dissertation title🙄
Your videos are just awesome..I always follow them before going for any interview. I just got one job but I couldn't find any reviews about them anywhere.
I don't know how to thank you, Sir, I visited three of your videos (weakness, third interview and interview with director), and I have cleared all interview stages with flying marks. In my third interview, the interviewer appraises my answering skills, and he did mention that " it seems every question answer is on the tip of your head". I must say to all viewers, Mr Richard is a Gem. May you live long & healthy Mr Richard.
Once I was asked to do a really vague assignment in preparation for the interview. The hyperlink to the microsite related to the assignment didn't work either. I texted for further clarification and there was no answer. They only texted me back on the deadline asking if I had done the assignment. I declined to be interviewed. My favourite question to the interviewer is, "How many in the department had resigned in the last 6 months?". The answer or the way he/she answers that question tells me everything!
During my interview with a PD I felt some inappropriate questions that were asked were how I would be able to handle taking care of my children and still dealing with work. After I had already been through the police academy 7 days a week, I had never been late for that or any other previous job. I felt that I had given them no reason to ask this question. I was also asked to explain to them how I had so many children in such a short amount of time because clearly they could not have been planned. Which I was felt was extremely inappropriate and discriminatory and would have not been asked if I were not a female.
Recently did an interview where the interviewer asked me to read my resume out to her. After a long pause she then asked "so you have no experience for the position xyz". I said no but started telling her I'm a quick learner and I have quite a few transferable skills. She then started to tell me that they already have 100 employees and no time to train people. Mind you, this is after I waited an hour and a half after the scheduled interview time.
On my recent job interivew, the hiring manager did went on the RED FLAG #1 ... But that is only 1 out of 8 red flags.. I STILL DIDN'T ACCEPT THE JOB OFFER of getting hired.
@@CareerVidz Yah, I knew from there that he is hiding a hidden agenda to make me a slave.. I also saw his other employees working, and they weren't smiling and they look sabotage.
Another red flag is they're hiring for a really long time / the hire banner is up long time means staff doesn't stay long Another possible red flag is hiring multiple positions , this could mean lots of staff resign due to something ( toxic environment, etc)
Trust me ! I had an interview for a clinical lead role in GE healthcare and I cleared the technical round with a doctor who was the team lead and the next round was with the hiring manager who was software guy. During the interview, When I had my camera on, he asked me to turn it off and started asking me about clinical research. I was confused, as to why a software guy is asking me about clinical. And later on I got to know that the position was fake. I was shocked on how such a huge organisation like GE could do that. I just lost lot of time interviewing for this role.
I work in HR and I’ve worked for companies like this. To put it plainly, it’s embarrassing. I’ve tried to bring it up internally, but then leadership gets offended cause they think that the candidate has more to lose than us. Toxic as heck. Never forget your value as a candidate and if you notice flags in the interview process, consider how worse it could be working for them before signing anything!
Took a job and saw red flags but was desperate for a job. I was there 4 days before I quit. HR was not as accessible with a speaking to by phone rule and no email. I couldn't access the paperless office website on my computer. The Team Leader told me to buy a smart phone. No W4 was issued for me to fill out and I was pressured to take a pay card instead of direct deposit. HR had no idea of how to fill out forms and were worthless. Access to phone extensions was through the store number and I was immediately placed on hold instead of being answered and waiting 10 minutes. Then came the dictator who had a bad day and took it out on me and the staff who stayed. "Understaffed" was a buzz word. Then my back started to hurt. It got better after rest on a day off but intensified. I steamed off about being treated disrespectfully only to be gaslighted by the Team Lead who defended the dictator. I reported my back pain to my supervisor, and she made me work instead. She told me to work faster. I decided to quit after my shift and had to speak to someone I couldn't get in touch with on my day off. I wound up quitting by email. No job is worth making me work in pain. I needed a job, and this was not it. The hours were terrible. This was at a major grocery chain. I am considering filing a complaint.
It happened to me recently. I did my presentation followed by your advice. Everything went with great flow and we already coninued to step two. Then the third person after 10 minutes enter the meeting of 30 minutes and takes over with saying: so now I want you to introduce yourself to me. First I was severely chocked because in my culture and with past experience this behavior always recieves direct consequenses and cancelling. I tried to continue but everything just ended up in complete disorder.
Last week this young interviewer asked me where I was from country wise and I told him and his response was, “that’s nice” and I responded with a fake smile. Awkward! 🙄 He didn’t even have answers to the questions I asked him and told me that only his boss knew the answers to those questions🙄🚩🚩
Hello First of all thanks for your useful contents. I got an job interview recently with a company with only the title of the job. But there no details at all concerning this job. I have to ask to the interviewers what are the details of the job. For now I didn't any news from then since.
Richard, surprisingly in India these are the regular practice 😂 believe me, I've plenty examples of facing each of the conditions (negative points) during my interview.
Questions asking what your hobbies and interests are/ what you do in your free time are actually quite common :) Take a look at this: ruclips.net/video/e9iI3sCD2Ak/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I once applied at a Human Services company and the hiring manager asked me don't they have jobs like the one you are applying for at your current organization? Needless to say I did not get the job and didn't want it anymore anyway.
Probably falls under the disinterested banner but I would also add, interview being extremely short. I once had an interview that lasted five mins, the interviewer said its because she knew enough in that time but later I found out it was sheer incompetence. I'm not an advocate for dragging out an interview for the sake of it, but 5/10 minutes simply isn't enough.
I had an interview last week.. I'm really willing to get accepted, I'm still waiting their answer, What I didn't expect is that they asked me to answer a specific question in French the interview was in English but they want someone who does speak this language as well.. I'm fluent but I couldn't think about any example at that time and it was about communication tell us about a day you had to convince someone and you could do it easily, after the interview of course I remembered many stories but was toooooo late
You could still email them back saying this is my response to the question you posed in the interview and apologise for not being able to recollect at that moment in time.
I have an interview for a job and the reviews on Glassdoor are very bad. Should you bring that up in an interview and if so, how would you ask the interviewer? Thanks for the great videos!
Good question! If you are concerned about these reviews (check the dates etc.) then you can bring it up at the end, be friendly, polite and professional when asking
The high turnover is an alarm for many reasons. While call centers and the like do have high turnover, it's mostly because the work is stressful or is made stressful by mismanagement. My last interview had high turnover (which I confirmed because this listing had been made many times over the course of many years) and the manager interviewing me had only been there for nine months while there were many senior employees there who had been there a DECADE. I didn't get the job, but I felt very elated at this fact.
Not an interview, but i took an excel test for a state accounting job today. I prepped for a week, practicing vlookop, indexmatch, xlookup, pivot table, etc. the day comes. Im so nervous. Dude shows me how to use a number pad on the laptop before i start! Afterwards, he told me the interview would be over teams and i would need a device with a camera and audio...then asked if i understood what that meant. I was flabbergasted. Im deelly concerned about who is working for fhe state, or who is applying to the state.
I put in my application to work for this rubber manufacturer, and I got a call from their HR manager 2 hours later to set up an interview. At the interview I met my would be manager and toured the floor of the plant. I ask the HR manager about my schedule and her answer was very vague. After the interview, I emailed the HR manager to ask for my exact schedule for the week as I would be starting in two days, and she just gives me the hours, not the days. The day that I was supposed to start, I meet the HR manager to do the on boarding process. I flat out told her that I expected to work the Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shift schedule that was advertised on the job posting. She told me this wouldn't work because the team just worked 7 days a week last week and was expected to work Fridays and Saturdays. I said my peace and walked out.

This was for a traveling engineer role. The hiring manager and regional vice president asked me if I have any kids or having any in the future? In my mind, I felt like what's the relevance of my skills with this question - I mentioned to him even if I did, I would still perform the best and achieve top quality performance because I'm supporting my family. They are more of my motivation to succeed to deliver top-notch quality. In the end, even If I had kids it shouldn't disqualify me from being a potential candidate? I felt like I answered the question appropriately but that question really bothered me.
I had an interview where the recruiter was nearly 90 minutes late. I'm relieved I didn't get the job because if they can't respect my time as a candidate, they likely wouldn't respect me as an employee.
I was on one interview where they said oh you worked at (ltc) that place is a total crap hole, than she told me that she can't tell me that I won't be hired because of my visible tattoo on my arm but there is a Dr that hates them. Needless to say I didn't get a call back.
I have a carers interview on the 17th. I have passed the first 15 minute interview and the next interview will go for 45 minutes. The problem is I was working for the family business for 20 years and my ex husband cheated on me for 10 of those years and when my youngest son turned 13 I left and my ex husband pulled the rug from under my feet. During the 45 minute interview the lady wants to build a profile of me and I don't know what to say?
Hi, sorry to hear those things. I recommend focusing on the positive things you have been doing in your life and what you can bring to their company. This should help you: 1.ruclips.net/video/t0u6RgriZRY/видео.html 2.ruclips.net/video/KCm6JVtoRdo/видео.html GOOD LUCK!
Hey @Richard, I have a question for you and your answer matters for me. If you get hired in a new position ( manager for any company) if everything don't work perfectly and you are from a different country and you want to propose a new plan to the staff or your boss how can you do that?
I found out about all the turnover for my position when I finally started working and saw on the network drive all the folders from previous people who held the job over just the past few years. I would also caution about an interviewer who comes across as very arrogant and thinks too much about themselves. If you take the job, be prepared for them to think not much of you and your talents and value.
I had an interview with a recruiter who didn’t confirm the date , then called me where I was, and to finish his great job, he spend the interview yawning and get the snots out. He has a job for my dream company and I am continue sending applications…
Once l had an interview l was hired on the spot, and I'm waiting for the calling later and they keep on postpone again and again. What's wrong with this organisation? Sir
🚨Another red flag, before you apply make sure you check whether they offer other job position or not. If they have a lot of job offers, you should wonder why they're looking for a lot of new staffs and why do there're many that left. I had this company who offers a lot of positions and most of them are on contract. Turns out they're not stable and in order to keep their staff they put them on contract. And they keep changing their staffs every year. During this pandemic people trying to take advantage. Please be careful
what should you do if you do get asked inappropriate questions or notice alarming red flags? Would it be really bad to end the interview yourself and just leave?
This is up to you as it would depend on the question that was being asked but if you feel like someone was being offensive there's no obligation to continue the interview :)
I just landed a position after they were happy with my responses to questions they threw at me, along with passing a technical test. They gave clear responses to my questions and the interviewers seemed to be nice, but the question mark in my mind is whether the company culture is good. I saw on their LinkedIn page that the existing staff have been working there between 1.5 to 3 years. Does this suggest that turnover is high?
Worst interview I had was for a small cafe and the interviewer was a right pig. He asked me what age I was,had I a boyfriend,am I living with said boyfriend, why was I looking at him oddly(it was because of how arrogant he was towards me),he then said oh there's no point in hiring you if your useless and wanted to give me offer. The next day I couldn't go in as I was so traumatised from his behavior after the interview as i was crying hysterically. Never stood in that cafe since that day.
The lack of transparency is so true. During one interview, the interviewers were vague about the salary, working condition and job role. The hiring manager claimed the JD might change depending on the experience of the selected candidate. It turns out it is a toxic work culture
The interview I had was fine on my side, the interviewer was pretty bubbly but also stuck to the point which made me feel less nervous. What i didn't like is that apparently they didn't need any others on the shift I applied for when their hiring pages never stated that nor was I told they didn't need anyone else when they reviewed my application in front of me the day before. It felt unprofessional to go through all those steps knowing that I wasn't going to be put on. Even after I completed the interview I was told I was going to get a call but they never called me. I assume they were just going to hope I forgot since they didn't hire me😭😭
Nice video Richard. But get a red flag job really depends. Especially entry level engineering jobs. Many managers want entry level engineers to do tedious and tired engineering works with cheapest pay as possible. They want you to work way more than regular hours with no extra hours cost, no training pay during training period. They will mention this in the interview. If your answer to any of those are no, you won't get hired. Still many graduated students want that job because experience is the ticket to get a better job and it is so hard to get an engineering job with no experience during the pandemic.
If an employer doesn't proceed with an interview further after observing a candidate has changed jobs as mentioned in candidate's resume? Is that a red flag?
I attend my interview today and I think I've done well..however, the salary range that they offer me is lower than the salary mentioned in the job description..this is such a turn off for me as they we suggesting that if they offer me salary higher than my current salary but lower than my expectation is it okay with me and my mind was in a jumble and I don't know what to say..I don't know whether to refuse directly because I'm afraid that if I mention that the salary is not up to my expectation then they will perceive my negatively..fyi, I mention that I will consider however the interviewer act like they think I'm accepting the job with the salary they offer.. could you please make a video on how to handle this situation??
Yesterday I appeared for an interview for snr. Kyc Analyst. It went horrible the moment he asked me about my age and then why I am currently working as customer care executive in pandemic despite of explaining that I had to leave my job due to my divorce nd after pandemic came I took the job in this profile as I was not getting any interview for kyc opening.. Through out he was dismissal about my past experience in the same profile my achievement just because currently i m not in the same field.. Instead of selling the company he was telling me how people are leaving because of less salary... I got rejected but I am glad
I'm currently in the final round of interviews with a company that has a 2.4 rating on Indeed and when I checked the LinkedIn profiles of my interviewers, I saw that all of them have been there 1 year or less and none of them have grown within the company. Would that be a red flag to you?
We are just a big family.....no that is B's . employer pays for your time working for them in return you get a paycheck. Stupid incentives just pay me more I don't need a pizza party, beige member's only jacket, a keychain or a coffee mug. Don't consider federal paid over time holidays a incentive it is the law. Take down heros work here sign....that just pisses me off.
Another great video! I don't mean to undermine you, but I think another red flag is when the interviewer reads off a script and does not respond to your answers.
Group interviews that causes u to compete with several other candidates at the same time...BIG BIG RED FLAG RUNNNNN... literally walk out.. especially if u didn't see it coming....I'm a HR professional..trust me on this one...and congratulate yourself u just dodged a bullet...now " panel interviews" is a different story..and u should be told before accepting the interview..panel interviews are with the employees of that company and they should be private 1:1 interviews

RED FLAG # 9: When I asked the owner of the company about the salary offer and the owner replied to me "I don't know. I really don't know for now". Okay, I said when do you want me to start? I love this! The advice on interviews barely ever considers how they should be selling ME the job at the same time that I'm selling my own skills for the role
Very true!
1. What are my political affiliations
2. What are names of my siblings and what is their occupation and place of abode.
3. What jobs did my parents do.
4. None gave me the chance to ask any questions.
5. I received no feedback to this day on how the interview went.
SCARY!! Yes, those a big red flags! Thanks for sharing.
Were you interviewing for a national security position, perhaps in Homeland Security?
@@theresa78201 no. The position was for a procurement officer
Govt jobs got toxic culture of hostility and corruption. Only hired if you are bully, corrupt, part of fraternity, sorority.
Great video. This will help me to be cautious. Thank you so much. God bless you.
THANK YOU!
I donno how I thank you. Your videos are awesome. I follow your tips and got the appointment letter. God bless you, man.

Absolutely correct! I found someone resent past, I was waiting for this kind of vlogs. Very true!!

This is pure gold sir you are doing so much good for the world! Thanks!
Wow, thank you!
I'm sorry to hear this!
Those questions to ask the interviewer at red flag number 7 are Really good. I just got fired so I'm watching a lot of these videos and this is the first one I've seen in 3 weeks that actually has something constructive to ask them. Totally writing those down
What industry are you in? :)
WELL DONE!
When they want to hire you right away or only give you 24hrs to accept your offer. Ask them about turnover during the interview!
YES, THAT"S A GOOD ONE!

NO WAY!! That is awful!
@@CareerVidz yes it was. I never got the job and he laughed at me all the way out the door.

I had a telephone interview last week. I prepared (using your excellent advice) waited for the allotted time.... The interviewer did not call. I called the agency I got the interview through and they said the interviewer thought the interview was for today. This feels like a 🚩
I agree! Red flag! I hope you pass!
Very Helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@CareerVidz thanks your videos are so great! God bless you. I have an important interview coming up. Hopefully it will go well.
Thanks for this vid. content. I can share some of the red flags I have experienced:
1- Hiring manager starts of the interview venting their frustrations and expressing their expectations and demands of the person who would be hired for the role (and none of the things they said during her huffing and puffing fiasco introduction were listed on the job description.
We have xyz systems in place for blah blah (had nothing to do with what I asked about this specific role."
6- When nearly all of their answers to your questions have the phrase "well it depends" - if a job always entails an "it depends" and nothing clear and concise, you're in for one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
WELL SAID!

Blimey! The British national question is a massive RED FLAG, in my opinion! Why would someone ask that! No need!
Very handy and very helpful video! Thank You Sir

Great video as always!

Fantastic! That is great news!
Yeah, I would have done the same as you
Sometimes it may be hard to pick these signs until you start working for a company
Well said! This is true :)
Great..as usual

During my interview with a PD I felt some inappropriate questions that were asked were how I would be able to handle taking care of my children and still dealing with work. After I had already been through the police academy 7 days a week, I had never been late for that or any other previous job. I felt that I had given them no reason to ask this question. I was also asked to explain to them how I had so many children in such a short amount of time because clearly they could not have been planned. Which I was felt was extremely inappropriate and discriminatory and would have not been asked if I were not a female.
That’s not good! Thanks for sharing
I’m not sure I’d want to work for that company!
did they not read the resume before calling you in for an interview. its like okay thank you for wasting my time and yours
On my recent job interivew, the hiring manager did went on the RED FLAG #1 ... But that is only 1 out of 8 red flags.. I STILL DIDN'T ACCEPT THE JOB OFFER of getting hired.
Congrats on getting the job offer and more power to you for being able to turn it down if it wasn't right for you!
@@CareerVidz Yah, I knew from there that he is hiding a hidden agenda to make me a slave.. I also saw his other employees working, and they weren't smiling and they look sabotage.
Another red flag is they're hiring for a really long time / the hire banner is up long time means staff doesn't stay long
Another possible red flag is hiring multiple positions , this could mean lots of staff resign due to something ( toxic environment, etc)
Good points
Hey man thanks a lot
Happy to help!
Had an interview with 2 managers from the company, one of them fell asleep during my interview....didn't think I was that boring!
NO!!
My mom's a hiring manager. I could totally see her doing this 😬 I'd be so offended
No way! Thanks for sharing this!
What industry do you work in? :)
Love this✅💓
THANK YOU!
Sorry to hear you had that experience!

Hello First of all thanks for your useful contents.
I got an job interview recently with a company with only the title of the job. But there no details at all concerning this job. I have to ask to the interviewers what are the details of the job.
For now I didn't any news from then since.
Have a look on line for job description of similar jobs and use that to prepare. Good luck!
Richard, surprisingly in India these are the regular practice 😂 believe me, I've plenty examples of facing each of the conditions (negative points) during my interview.
Oh no! That is a shame. Thank you for sharing this :)
So true , Too many personal questions where you have to answer to get the job,, we all did 😌😌😌
I had an interview where the recruiter asked what I like to do on the weekends. That was awkward. I was thinking how is this related to the job.
Sorry to hear this!
Yes, short is disrespectful! Thanks for sharing!
We wear a lot of hats was a red flag I came across recently. Also when shown the desk area I would be working at, it was a disorganized mess. LOL
Thanks for sharing! :)
I had an interview last week.. I'm really willing to get accepted, I'm still waiting their answer,
What I didn't expect is that they asked me to answer a specific question in French the interview was in English but they want someone who does speak this language as well..
Yes, email them :) ruclips.net/video/fKDnamEANs8/видео.html
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for sharing! :)
I wish I watched this video before my last job. Would of saved me since there were 5 red flags. Lesson learned.
Glad to hear you found it helpful :)
Sorry to hear this!

I'm sorry to hear this!
I had an interview with a recruiter who didn’t confirm the date , then called me where I was, and to finish his great job, he spend the interview yawning and get the snots out. He has a job for my dream company and I am continue sending applications…
Sorry to hear that!! 😳
Once l had an interview l was hired on the spot, and I'm waiting for the calling later and they keep on postpone again and again.
What's wrong with this organisation?
Sir
Sorry to hear of this experience!
Thanks for the insight!
what should you do if you do get asked inappropriate questions or notice alarming red flags? Would it be really bad to end the interview yourself and just leave?
This is up to you as it would depend on the question that was being asked but if you feel like someone was being offensive there's no obligation to continue the interview :)
I just landed a position after they were happy with my responses to questions they threw at me, along with passing a technical test.
They gave clear responses to my questions and the interviewers seemed to be nice, but the question mark in my mind is whether the company culture is good. I saw on their LinkedIn page that the existing staff have been working there between 1.5 to 3 years. Does this suggest that turnover is high?
Thanks for sharing! What role is this for? :)
@@CareerVidz this is for an associate adviser role for a financial services firm
Another red flag I have seen is when the employer bad mouth the employee I was replacing. That employer ended up replacing me a year later.
This does sound like a red flag!
Wth is a right pig? 😂
One time I had a phone interview and they were literally 8 hours late in calling me! Who on earth calls a potential employee at 10pm at night?!
Goodness that is late! What happened after that?

Well said!
How do you find out an employer's turnover rate?
Have a look at GlassDoor for employee reviews
@@CareerVidz Thats not turnover rate...
@@beachboardfan9544 If there are a lot of recent “former employee” posts then it should tell you what you need to know...
If an employer doesn't proceed with an interview further after observing a candidate has changed jobs as mentioned in candidate's resume? Is that a red flag?
Potentially, yes.
Yes, that would have frustrated me too!

Through out he was dismissal about my past experience in the same profile my achievement just because currently i m not in the same field.. I'm currently in the final round of interviews with a company that has a 2.4 rating on Indeed and when I checked the LinkedIn profiles of my interviewers, I saw that all of them have been there 1 year or less and none of them have grown within the company. Would that be a red flag to you?
My advice would be to trust your gut 👍
RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!!!

Hi sir, how are you? Your video’s are very useful to all, please can you tell me settlement officer what questions they may ask, please can you reply.

Another great video! I don't mean to undermine you, but I think another red flag is when the interviewer reads off a script and does not respond to your answers.
Yes, that's a good point!
Well said
