She stopped using magic and it basically went dormant as not using magic seems to wane your ability to use/make it go weaker. Seeing her brother in insufferable pain and hearing Freed mention “death” triggered something in her; hearing death and thinking about losing her only real family left set her off and awakening her powers once more. And the thing is, she probably could’ve defeated Freed even faster had she been at her peak or just never stopped using magic because she’s FAR stronger than what we saw in this fight!

If the demon took her over, Elfman would not just stand and look on like that, he'd yell and scream trying to get her back in control. He knew she was in control of the demon she was just PISSED. Freed would be dead if the demon took her over. I do agree that the fight shows what would happen if Mira got taken over by the demon tho. Like just at what she did in her rage.

Now that you have seen Mira's Power, you can absolutely tell why she's erza's rival. She's always been on par with erza but because of Lisanna's death, it caused trauma on mira and that is why she completely changed herself. (edgy mira to sweet mira). A complete change of personality. She didn't train or took quests as well and stayed in the guild as a waitress and a model for sorcerer weekly. That is why she doesn't really use her true magic powers. And just a bit of an information with her magic. Mira and her siblings uses the same type of magic which is "TAKE OVER" which basically takes over the soul of a certain being. That being said, there are other demon souls that mira possesses so stay tuned brother.

For all we know - if Lisanna had opportunity to grow, she could have been able to control dragons or other broken being/beast/animal.

Im not going spoil what but even 100-200 epidoses down the line well still be lesrning about some side characters like cana and their pasts even when think seen them as kid and adult they allways find aome hidden meaning or secret they held to make u like them even more characters have back story ontop of back story with like 100 episodes between episodes focused on their pasts thats how deeply tied the details of characters are in this shos
