    You're video style is fine. Always better watching someone else making mistakes and learning from them instead of learning the hard way 👍🇦🇨

    Jack i like your work and your wife’s work . You are both hard working couple with attention to detail . It’s awesome that you don’t hide your errors and help others not to make them again. .
    I subscribe:)

      Also your flicker is due to the shutter rate of your video camera interacting with the fluorescent lights. Try changing the shutter rate on your camera when you are inside.

    • @JockeSelin
      @JockeSelin 5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for taggin' along. Yes, I know the flicker is a combination of AC frequency and shutter speed. I've set the camera to counteract flicker at the UK 50Hz, but it still seems to pick it up. Easiest is to use other light or not film in the garage, I just need to keep remembering that.

    I like your project, I feel like I must do something similar to my Pajero. I can also turn it into a proper overlander vehicle. I'm definitely following your project. It's very detailed and well done!

      It wasn't actually free. I bought it in Oxford many many years ago in the hope of trying to make it into a toolbox for my motorbike. It didn't really fit, so it has been a dedicated dust and cobweb collector in the garage. I stuck it on the shelf to see whether it'd be a good place to keep stuff in the cab; it was, until we removed the shelf (upcoming video!) 🤣👍🏻

      @@JockeSelin I will stick around. This is what I'm going to do next with my life too. I was bidding on some Mogs tonight but missed out. The Australian Army are getting rid of about 800 mogs at the moment and auctioned about 25 of them today. Most are in poor shape but a few have had a life mostly at the base so are are fairly good. The poor ones sold for about $12 to 14 thousand dollars and the better ones up to 28 thousand.

    I hope there was no rust left under the paint. Other than that a really nice project. I have a few questions though: Can you give overall tour of your unimog? Functions, history, some other specs etc? And perhaps a test ride when you get those seats back in? Thank you!

    • @JockeSelin
      @JockeSelin 5 лет назад +1

      Thanks! If there’s rust left, we will just have to redo things sometime in the future. Rust never sleeps. Thanks for the idea of a walk-around. Didn’t think there was much need for that, but maybe there is.
      Since the release of this video, we have been working almost flat out and have tons of footage, but no time to edit it. In other words, tons more to come!

    Hello Jocke, excellent work, can you give me the place of purchase of the soundproofing kit? Thanks

    • @JockeSelin
      @JockeSelin 3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I've updated the description with the links of all the sound proofing stuff that we have used. The Unimog kit was bought straight from Atkinson Vos www.unimogs.co.uk/our-stock/accessories/driver-comfort-cab-enhancement/soundproofing-cab-trim-kit, and we also used Silent Coat sound deadening: amzn.to/3gi6kQe (affiliate link).

    Nice video again. Having done the inside of the floor panels are you going to do the underneath too, or is it okay?
    This is going too be really interesting to watch as it develops. Any ideas on the type of box you will have yet?

    • @JockeSelin
      @JockeSelin 5 лет назад

      Thanks, Patrick! The underneath is covered in some industrial strength Mercedes goop, so we're going to leave it alone. The box will be quite "traditional" for a Unimog, nothing extravagant, maybe with some additional features, but you're going to have to wait until that episode comes out..! Stay tuned as they say (even if there's no tuner!? 🤔 )
      😎👍🏻

    I think you should go with snappier! I found the music background scenes too loud in comparison to voice and a little tedious to be honest...

    i have a UL 1700 how much did the sound proofing help

    • @JockeSelin
      @JockeSelin 4 года назад

      Hi, it’s hard to say because we weren’t able to drive the truck much beforehand. What I can say now is that whilst the sound level could be lower, the nature of the sound isn’t harsh. It’s a softer kind of noise now, and we are OK with it for very long trips. You still need to raise your voice a bit to speak between the driver and passenger, but not very much. Keep in mind that the rear of the cab is completely bare still (waiting with that until we build the hatch).

  • @dunglass1
    @dunglass1 5 лет назад +2

    Nice job guys. You’ve even made me feel that I ought to do the floor of my cab! A little less detail where the task is repetitive would work better for me. Dan.

    The only way to stop rust is remove it, I’d have basted it personally.
