Would have made a lot more sense to use a buck boost converter so you could use a 5V USB input to charge the battery. With only a buck converter you are stuck having to put in at least 13.6V to fully charge the battery which excludes the most common charging options available. If you’re not home or not carrying a 24V power adapter you can’t charge it.
If you want to stick with the buck converter I would install a USB PD Trigger set for 20V so that you can plug in a USB C cable that is plugged in to a power brick on the other side that supports 20V PD charging. Even a 30W charger will give you 20V 1.5A which you might be able to squeeze 12.6V 2A out of after all the inefficiencies. The PD trigger is only $5-$10 depending on which one you get but it’s as simple as USB C on one side and wires out the other side. A 30W PD charger is very cheap nowadays but I’d go with a 45W that has 20V 2.25A. Should cost less than $15 for the charger and a 3A USB C cable costs a few bucks.
