I so enjoy your videos. Your bubbly energy just, well, bubbles over. It's contagious! While I would never take on the type of full coverage cross stitch patterns that attract you, I did successfully complete a full coverage piece that I finished as an accent pillow before Christmas. It was to be a Christmas present, so I was pleased to get it done. However, I am in no hurry to start another large full coverage pattern in 2025. Ha!
Love the concept of the handmade capsule wardrobe, while it's alot of work, you'll get the "perfect" pieces you otherwise would'nt find in stores since it's all about "this year's trends". I work from home with a lap cat... Can't wear nice things and would rather be comfy, so hoodies and sweatpants it is 😢 In regards to projects I've spent an entire day tidying up my office/craft stash only to find I hoard alot of pretty things but no project in mind. I plan to combine some of that with my 20+ folded up xstitch that haven't been finished into anything... They're too "granny" for our house or anyone else, it would feel like trapping someone if I made them into gifts 😂 What can I say... I like to stitch them but that's it! My second goal however is to DO kits from other crafts I have been saving for a day where I'd be magically capable of something as pretty as the example, starting with the bulkier and/or quicker ones (miniature room, needle felting, scarf knitting...) cross stitch is easy and hard to mess up, the rest scares me I wish you and your husband a happy new year!!!
BIG PROJECT ENERGY I believe is a real phenomenon ….or maybe I am catching it from this splendid video…At age 74 I love the idea of your clothing capsule as I so enjoyed your clothing projects for your cruise……not sure about your Green Bay Team….but my Seattle Seahawks are having to wait for other teams to win or lose which is not a comfortable situation…Happy New Year 2025 to You and Dear Dave…..
We've made it into playoffs as a wildcard but can't see us doing much! Three of the four teams in our division have made it though which is absolutely ridiculous. Commiserations on the Commanders win, I think that knocks you out doesn't it? Oh well, always next year! Honestly I've been trying to get to grips with this capsule plan for so long and in the end it's really simple but just took a LOT of thinking to get here, haha. We'll see how it goes. Brown is one of those colours that I know would work on me, but I just hate so much I can't accept it 😂 Discovering that I have "warm" skin sent me down a rabbithole and certainly helps explain why I've always made for a weird looking goth. But dammit, I love black! 😭
Tin Can Knits has a wonderful free pattern for a warm snuggly cardigan. I’ll see if i can link it here for you. They have a lot of great patterns a quite a lot are free.
I finished all the gifts I wanted to do for Christmas this year a few days beforehand. Now that Christmas is over I'm finishing kitting up for my year of starts to celebrate my birthday this year and figuring out what existing Wips to focus on when I'm not working on a new start. The existing Wips I'm going to focus on first are my oldest and the ones that are closest to a finish. For crochet I want to graduate from dishcloths to doing a blanket for my son and a baby blanket for my friend who is having her first baby in July. If you have any hints on a summer baby blanket pattern or yarn choices please let me know. Or an easy crochet toy pattern. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to.

I think I picked a tricky pattern to start off with because it involves tunisian purl stitches that are really slowing me down. Enjoying it, but I also might have to frog a few hours worth which is gonna sting a bit 😅

Since all my holiday crafting is finally done and gifted, I get to get back to my 2 big projects - a Kiah sweater I'm crocheting for me (because my office is blinking cold in the winter), and I've signed up for the HAED SAL, so I have something like 90'000 stitches to try to get done in 2025. Luckily for me they sent out the first installment a week early, so I should be able to get a ~1'000 stitch head start. My saving grace there is that I'm a monogamous cross-stitcher. We just won't say anything about the rest of the crafts I do...
Life dumped a wrecking ball into my Christmas crafting plans so I'm slowly regrouping. I just started crocheting the Lightly Toasted Cardigan in some beautiful alpaca to fill a colour gap in my winter wardrobe. And between the flexible sizing of the pattern and my yarn and hook choice not quite matching the suggestions, I'm immediately panicking about not having enough yarn. I guess there's nothing for it but keep on stitching and hoping for the best. Crafty New Year!
I do think you need to make that rainbow cardi I made just because it's so swooshy. I plan to make more dresses next year, I'm the same with what's comfortable and as an apple shape it's easier to just make frocks than try to get a good fit off the rack. I'm more loosey goosey than fitted though which helps. The other thing I'm planning is a woven triangle shawl. It's apparently possible on my rigid heddle loom but my loom is slightly too narrow so I might do it old school with dowels. We'll see!
Rainbow cardi is NOT a sensible suggestion, woman! But also, maybe...🤔 Was just saying to Dave last night I keep looking at more complicated dress sewing patterns but really what I love to wear is essentially really simple sack dresses with something tied round the waist or a bit of elastic to pull it in or something. Never really feel right in more fitted stuff. So that certainly works with my limited sewing skills, hooray!
@@TheGiddyStitcher It's entirely sensible! What if, bear with me, what if you're invited to a very exclusive party with celebrities and stuff and the dress code is "Big rainbow cardigan"?? And yep, i skip the really complex sewing patterns and simplify the ones I have already. That dress I've been talking about making for months has an invisible zipper in the pattern, and we won't be doing that.
