Here's how I place the three versions of brass goggles I've heard: Album One: a version you'd hear on an actual steampunk airship Live version: a version you'd hear in an old fashioned dance club Steameorld heist version: the perfect hybrid of the two
I do enjoy the live version a lot, but THIS one sounds like fun too, it has an "insanity" feel to it,like the robots are going crazy trying to figure themselves out! AND I can hear Jon singing a lot better here ;)
"unpopular opinion" nahhhh that's an understatement- This is my favourite version as well, you can feel the emotion in the song, their use of pathos is amazing!!!
Lol if you think its too noisy you do need to realize you are listening to Steampunk which revolves around the nitty gritty sounds of these hot robots.
“And what is this leaking affecting my eye? Does the oil that is dripping mean this is a.. cry? Will I ever be something with feelings to hide? Or am I just a boiler with NOTHING INSIDE ?”
I love this because I love all the voices and how they intertwine together so well. it's like there was a itch at the back of my brain that I didn't know was there and it scratches it right there and it's sounds so good. I gotta do a little jig everytime I hear it. and I really relate to the song because my emotions I have are there but very distant is the only way I know how to describe them.
All the different versions are good in my opinion :). I like how they all differ, making the song new and fresh everything time I hear a different version
My all-time comfort song. It just has vibes that make me feel better whenever I listen to it. I remember the first time I heard this song I was soo excited because I loved how it sounded and it was like I took drugs or something I cannot express how weirdly happy this song makes me
I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with me because I couldn't hear the difference between this version and the music video version of this song until a bunch of people in the comments pointed it out. Also this sounds like a bunch of people in like a bar randomly started singin.
I was pretty skeptical on this version. I loved the Brass Goggles they released earlier on, in 2012. But I actually _really_ like this version. I'd say they're both equal. I really love this
Brand new fan here, hi from Australia! You guys are awesome just sayin' I also heard the live version first, and prefer it, but it's great to hear this one as a comparison, keep it up!
No offence intended, and this IS one of my favourite songs, but I vastly prefer the other version. As others have said, this one's a little too "noisy" for my tastes. The live/sing-along version of the song has a simplicity and cleanness to it that rings much more pleasantly on my ears.
+KefkeWren I kinda like this more....It's more noisy...fits better the steampunk period...it's the best steampunk song i've ever heard..Good job steam bots.
Wonderful art, wonderful song, friend got me into this band years ago, i missed you guys so much! I really wanna see a show but im broke and cant go either way :(
This has to be my favorite song. I know there are (in other's opinions and partially mine) some that you guys have done that are better, but this was the first one I ever heard of you guys, and I'm sticking with it to be my Top All Time Favorite of the band. (Not this version but the live one.) Actually found it in an Awesome Steampunk Music Playlist by some other person (don't remember the name)
Boy, time is funny. I glanced at the picture and just assumed the bot in the dress was Rabbit, despite the fact there's an actual photograph of what she looked like at the time right next to it.
I really like this song, but I agree with some other comments, it sounds a bit busy but never the less its still awesome, i guess its just that we're not used to it :)
Always loved this song, but the firs version was better, I knowed SPG with the original version of Brass Goggles Anyway, you guys are really, really amazing. I love the songs, i love the robots (yeah, is pretty scary, but i love Hatchy too) and i enjoy the BK. Is so great :D
It's still The Spine. He used to do weird things with his voice which were actually putting too much strain on it. That's why he switched it up to the style he does now.
socramae They might perhaps be referring to the music video version compared to the album version? I like the MV version for Rabbit's signature cackle.
Mariah G yeah probably.. everyone is entitled to there opinion as long as its not a stupid one like saying "Justin Beiber is better then Console Warriors"
At the moment, you can only hear it by either buying SteamWorld Heist or buying the music album from the SPG website. In my opinion it isn't as good as this version, but that's just my opinion ^-^
as others have stated, I also prefer the live version (or music video) of this song. Its more catchy and clean. Is is bad I ripped that version off of RUclips so I could blare it while driving in my car? hehehe
The verse about Colonel Walter feels weirdly creepy to me. Like the Colonel actually discovered something he shouldn't have. Maybe I just have CoC on the brain
This is from Album One; you can download the versions from Live at the Globe of Yesterday's Tomorrow or the one from Walter Robotics Expo if you prefer. :)

YAAaaaSSSS
*SPINE CHILL WITH THE VOCAL RANGE*
Listening with headphones allowed me to distinctly hear the three different lyrics at the end. It was nice!
What were they?
Unpopular opinion: I like this version best
+Good Shiny Hunter Agreed.
+Good Shiny Hunter same
+Shiny lol dont even like the others, this one makes me sing my lungs out
Totally agree. I don't see how you can't like this version? It's so lively and tuneful.
I love the chorus of this version.
I know its an unpopular opinion but this is by far my favorite version of this song
Saaaame
Yo same
"unpopular opinion" nahhhh that's an understatement- This is my favourite version as well, you can feel the emotion in the song, their use of pathos is amazing!!!
It is absolutely impossible to listen to this song only once. :D
*****
I couldn't agree more, dear friend! :D
Cant argue with that! A friend got me into this a few years ago and i love it, just getting back into it
A person did this song for my piano lessons, doing a mixture of singing and acting. They even made their own cosplay for it!
i really like the brrrRAESS GAHGGLES
It's very interesting to hear the differences in the way the band sings here in comparison to the newer things.
Very interesting,very !!!
I love how metallic and robotic this sounds. So great
i like how upgrade is still in the arts
it's a nice detail
Lol if you think its too noisy you do need to realize you are listening to Steampunk which revolves around the nitty gritty sounds of these hot robots.
+ludolivia They didn't attune their ears for the grinding gears.
Salvage u made my day
that... wow. i...
Personally, I think each version of this song is amazing and weird in its own way. You guys are ridiculously incredible.
“And what is this leaking affecting my eye? Does the oil that is dripping mean this is a.. cry? Will I ever be something with feelings to hide? Or am I just a boiler with NOTHING INSIDE ?”
I honestly prefer this one because of its stronger bass line. I love me mah bass.
It's funny because I play two soprano instruments.
its nice to hear the differences
Many differences.
This is the first time I'm hearing the album version.
I could only find live versions, until now.
In my opinion, I like this version a lot more because it gives off that "steam punk" feel. And I just love that piano sound so much.
I like both versions. They both sound good in different ways. It's funny how the same song can sound so different though.
God I love the style of this song, all the versions are fantastic
I can never resist dancing like a robot during this song
My all-time comfort song. It just has vibes that make me feel better whenever I listen to it. I remember the first time I heard this song I was soo excited because I loved how it sounded and it was like I took drugs or something I cannot express how weirdly happy this song makes me
I heard this on the radio and I was amazed. I was happy that they played spg on radios!
I want a radio station that would want to play this!
I pray I can make it out to a show someday
+Kris Owens "Two and Half Robots"
+Doc_PL When is that?
hOLY HELL BUNNY YOU'RE VOCALS ARE CRAZY AWESOME!!!!!
I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with me because I couldn't hear the difference between this version and the music video version of this song until a bunch of people in the comments pointed it out. Also this sounds like a bunch of people in like a bar randomly started singin.
This version has more auto-tune i think.
I was pretty skeptical on this version. I loved the Brass Goggles they released earlier on, in 2012. But I actually _really_ like this version. I'd say they're both equal. I really love this
I'm having the same experience. I have to say, there's such a difference in the kind of enjoyment with this much busier version.
LOVE the distorto-bass. Both versions are awesome.
This is my favourite song, i was a year old when this dropped, damn.
I love this version of brass goggles, it was the first song I have heard from them. C:
Always loved this version of the song, it's got its wonderful "steamy" tune in it.
Brand new fan here, hi from Australia! You guys are awesome just sayin' I also heard the live version first, and prefer it, but it's great to hear this one as a comparison, keep it up!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I remember hearing the edited in parts when I bought Album One and I really appreciated that they made it sound closer to the live show version : )
1:31 the best part (my opinion)
No offence intended, and this IS one of my favourite songs, but I vastly prefer the other version. As others have said, this one's a little too "noisy" for my tastes. The live/sing-along version of the song has a simplicity and cleanness to it that rings much more pleasantly on my ears.
Yep, this was its first inception! We tend to agree Brass Goggles found its groove live. :)
Steam Powered Giraffe
i dunno i kinda like the demented wall of noise this version provides, both are excellent in their own regards!
+KefkeWren I kinda like this more....It's more noisy...fits better the steampunk period...it's the best steampunk song i've ever heard..Good job steam bots.
+KefkeWren meh i like this one better
I'd say the same but you can hear Jon's voice a lot better in this one so I'm conflicted
Wonderful art, wonderful song, friend got me into this band years ago, i missed you guys so much! I really wanna see a show but im broke and cant go either way :(
I kinda like the live version better e3e
Wow I have no idea what I'm looking at and I love it.
What does spine say at 1:18? Can't figure it out
I think he said wooden bang
Pretty sure it's "Run it back"
This has to be my favorite song. I know there are (in other's opinions and partially mine) some that you guys have done that are better, but this was the first one I ever heard of you guys, and I'm sticking with it to be my Top All Time Favorite of the band. (Not this version but the live one.)
Actually found it in an Awesome Steampunk Music Playlist by some other person (don't remember the name)
Can't stop. Too good.
I like this version of the song but I do prefer the one without the bg noises a bit more. Love and appreciate the work though!
I honestly prefer the live version, but it's only by a very, very slim margin! Still one of my all-time favs!
The end itches my brain
I love this album the best.
This version sound cool! Nice video!
this one is goddamn brilliant
this song is soo jazzy i love it
One of my favourites.
i love this version
1:34 This part is >>>
Am I the only one who likes this version better? Way to go, SPG!
Boy, time is funny. I glanced at the picture and just assumed the bot in the dress was Rabbit, despite the fact there's an actual photograph of what she looked like at the time right next to it.
Que musica maravilhosa cara!!!
I really like this song, but I agree with some other comments, it sounds a bit busy but never the less its still awesome, i guess its just that we're not used to it :)
This version seems crazier
OMG.... its so... so beautiful!
Oh cool ! The artwork includes all four of the original members.
4?
i actually listen kinda only to electrinal weird stuff but dammit these guys they're awesome !
This is awesome!
LOVE IT. LOVE IT.LOVE ALL OF SPG .LOVE IT. :D
Me too.
@@loosi_goosi *_did you just have a stroke_*
cool
Always loved this song, but the firs version was better, I knowed SPG with the original version of Brass Goggles
Anyway, you guys are really, really amazing. I love the songs, i love the robots (yeah, is pretty scary, but i love Hatchy too) and i enjoy the BK. Is so great :D
So good :')
so at 2:48, during the rounds, who is saying the brass goggles? Cause usually it's The Spine in the other versions but it doesnt sound like him?
It's still The Spine. He used to do weird things with his voice which were actually putting too much strain on it. That's why he switched it up to the style he does now.
why does this remind me of bill cipher?
I'm very new to Steam Powered Giraffe for some reason This song sounds like A song by Creature Feature..
+Trojann Perez That's just the genre, most steampunk/gothy bands have the same influences till a certain degree.
Yay! I'm not the only one who listens to Creature Feature!
Oh hey. I have this version.
i don't remember this version
extreamly edited in a studio das why haha
Yeah can't say I am a fan of this updated version.
OneTruePlague updated? lolz this is the first version from there first album i quite fond of it but either way they rock
socramae They might perhaps be referring to the music video version compared to the album version? I like the MV version for Rabbit's signature cackle.
Mariah G yeah probably.. everyone is entitled to there opinion as long as its not a stupid one like saying "Justin Beiber is better then Console Warriors"
Where can I find the version that played in SteamWorld heist?
+Austin Morrison Available for purchase on www.SteamPoweredGiraffe.com!
Steam Powered Giraffe thank you!
+Steam Powered Giraffe your music is awesome and im such a new fan why couldn't i have found you earlier keep playing awesome music
+Austin Morrison They are probably going to upload that album to youtube soon. You will just have to wait or buy the song and support the band ^_^
At the moment, you can only hear it by either buying SteamWorld Heist or buying the music album from the SPG website.
In my opinion it isn't as good as this version, but that's just my opinion ^-^
I think that this version is more powerful. And that's what makes it better. No offense lol.
I always liked this version I'm beryllium glad it's on RUclips now
I don't care much for this version. Sounds far too busy, and a lot of the background noises and "echoes" drown out the actual song.
It adds a bit of olden day electronic sounds. Back then Animatronics had glitch voices.
Utsu-Yп
Yea that's true but even with that point it seems cluttered. I liked the song but I think with a few less background noises I'd love it.
A tune your ears to the grinding gears
DEM EYEBROWS DOUGH
as others have stated, I also prefer the live version (or music video) of this song. Its more catchy and clean. Is is bad I ripped that version off of RUclips so I could blare it while driving in my car? hehehe
yes because you didn't pay the artist right?
+Christian Price I bought this album already. Just prefer the other version of this song that I have only seen on youtube.
hello
I can imagine Data from TNG bopping to this song
The verse about Colonel Walter feels weirdly creepy to me. Like the Colonel actually discovered something he shouldn't have. Maybe I just have CoC on the brain
1:31 i think you came here for this part.
***** If we download the song, do we get this version, or the better quality one?
This is from Album One; you can download the versions from Live at the Globe of Yesterday's Tomorrow or the one from Walter Robotics Expo if you prefer. :)
ladadadadada
the most redone song they got
Someone make an 8D edit please haha
+Steam Powered Giraffe Can I use some of your awesome music in my videos?
Is anyone still watching this in 2024-?
This has a Tim Burton movie fell to it.
this band is slightly weird but in a cool way yaay for steampunk songs 😀😃
Who is the robot playing the piano?
+Angry Squirrel Productions Rabbit.
No, Rabbit's the one singing into the microphone. I'm talking about the one playing the piano in the picture.
I think he's talking about the cover art.
The Spine. I've just figured it out as Rabbit is singing, the Jon is ... Being the Jon and so is Upgrade.
Wait one damn sECOND THERE'S FIVE AUTOMATONS IN THE COVER ART AND THE SPINE IS NEXT TO UPGRADE O K A Y?
Where's the one with female vocals?
first!
