I'm just days away from 70 years old so I've heard a lot of great singers in my life (and some not so great) but I've never heard a singer, female or male, with such an incredible as Ms. Thomas has. With every song progression you can hear a very distinct country twang in Lucy's voice. Lucy has a huge following here in Nashville, Tennessee and we all have been hoping for years that Lucy would try just one country song, and the most perfect song for her is "MAYBE IT WAS MEMPHIS" by Pam Tillis. I am old enough to remember and appreciate Aerosmith's version of the classic rock song and I've also enjoyed the country version, but Lucy simply knocked it out of the park with her amazing voice and delivery. I am typically not a fan of covers for hit songs. I tend to get very attached to the originals and covers almost always fall short for. I say almost because rarely I hear someone that does the original justice. You are one of those rare gems that manages to take an original hit and make it not only as good as the original but even better in some ways for me.
Dear Lord. That is a massive song to attempt with one of the worlds greatest 'wailers' in Steven Tyler. And you know what? You absolutely nailed it to perfection. That was astonishingly good. A complete change from the Whitney Houston, Snow Patrol etc covers and it shows the amazing versatility, range and control of your voice. It has nothing to do with me, though not knowing me, it's a pretty stupid reply. Her voice, not that angelic, falls within the range of soprano. That's not hard to any soprano. The fact is, most of the time, she doesn't do all she could do with her voice. There's some potencial there, but she's not using it.
Beautiful arrangement. Your voice is so clear, hitting perfect notes. Only a few singers can do that that I know. Streisand, Buble, Whitney Houston...you really are in their league.

Couple of questions...first, what in the world are you doing to us, Lucy?! EVERYTHING you touch turns into pure magic, this beautiful ballad included! You manage to make every song, every cover your own, give it new life, in many cases (much) better than originals. Second, who in the world are those disliking this, and what exactly were they thinking??!! Thankfully, there are very few of those, hopelessly pitiful people who are never happy, no matter what anyway. I sincerely wish you to just ignore them, let them listen to rap or hip-hop....or whatever garbage there is these days. P.S. Sorry for my ranting...but it's justified in this case...P.P.S. With every song progression you can hear a very distinct country twang in Lucy's voice. Lucy has a huge following here in Nashville, Tennessee and we all have been hoping for years that Lucy would try just one country song, and the most perfect song for her is "MAYBE IT WAS MEMPHIS" by Pam Tillis. This song well really test and showcase her music abilities. The passion in Pam's voice gives me chills every time....

I am typically not a fan of covers for hit songs. I tend to get very attached to the originals and covers almost always fall short for. I say almost because rarely I hear someone that does the original justice. You are one of those rare gems that manages to take an original hit and make it not only as good as the original but even better in some ways for me.
Dear Lord. That is a massive song to attempt with one of the worlds greatest 'wailers' in Steven Tyler. And you know what? You absolutely nailed it to perfection. That was astonishingly good. A complete change from the Whitney Houston, Snow Patrol etc covers and it shows the amazing versatility, range and control of your voice. It has nothing to do with me, though not knowing me, it's a pretty stupid reply. Her voice, not that angelic, falls within the range of soprano. That's not hard to any soprano. The fact is, most of the time, she doesn't do all she could do with her voice. There's some potencial there, but she's not using it.

Couple of questions...first, what in the world are you doing to us, Lucy?! EVERYTHING you touch turns into pure magic, this beautiful ballad included! You manage to make every song, every cover your own, give it new life, in many cases (much) better than originals. Second, who in the world are those disliking this, and what exactly were they thinking??!! Thankfully, there are very few of those, hopelessly pitiful people who are never happy, no matter what anyway. I sincerely wish you to just ignore them, let them listen to rap or hip-hop....or whatever garbage there is these days. P.S. Sorry for my ranting...but it's justified in this case...P.P.S. I was glad to find in one of the comments below references to the country twang in your voice in this song (one case in point when you were singing '...dream of you...' verse part), which I noted too, but wasn't sure at first!
