How good Stockton beach! Always a good day out when you head out there. Been a while since I last went out there for a run. Out of all the beaches I've done, It'll be the second best after Kinkuna beach🤙

The 79 seems too high, the "just for looks" kind of high. On the other episode it could not get past climbing those rocks, so much kicking and bouncing. Maybe a bit lower would be a better dialled setup.
Does it have reduction gears?
I live 10 minutes away from Stockton beach and I have never been there. 😂 I’m lucky. I get to hear planes all day and night.

Had a similar sound come from my 76 series after sending it up in the Cape, thought I'd done the gearbox turned out to be a bearing thank god

Buying new parts from all 4x4 is OK, but so lucky you didn't get them to do the job. I had a fair bit of work done on my 76 series there, and literally everything they touched, they f$%ked up somehow. Ended up keeping the bar work, and diff housing, but everything else came out, and was redone elsewhere. Their workshop is fancy, but beyond a joke with quality control. The workshop manager told me he tested my trailer plug after fitting a Kaymar, and all was good 👍 but it hadn't even been plugged in. I wish that was the only problem I had with them.

Great episode. Was on a trip through Europe and a mates car blow the gearbox in Austria. put out on Facebook too see if anyone had a gearbox or was coming from England that could bring a spare we had out for us as it was a car show with a lot of people from the uk head too. A group of lads ended up picking our spare gearbox up and driving it 22hrs and dropped it off to us. We fitted it in the hotel carpark and all the cars in the group made it without any recovery’s 👌

People are quick to judge Maccie P for buying a 79, but shouldn't we be happy that's he's actually gonna use that 5 inch lift and the 37 inch tyres like they're meant to be used?

Awesome episode, great content and can definitely relate😂, 12 hours from home on Fraser Island I blew my front crank seal, thankfully the boys at Mitsubishi Caloundra got it sorted for me within a few days 👌 even had Sam Eyles drive past in his duramax patrol

Not ten hours away from home more like 3 but back in 98 the cog on the bottom of my distributor stripped out on my wb ute and it had about 3-4 of us puzzled for a fare while

Never seen Stockton beach , great video , yeah the old farm trucks that everyone builds into “comp truck spec” then blames Toyota for not building that exact spec still surprises me , made for the farm 👍🏻, (worked at Toyota ) if anyone knows the “good as gold “79 in Brisbane that’s thing is the pinnacle of cash and how far you can upgrade them . Amazing truck !

Okay so the gearbox broke..which surprised me, however the front diff will break as well. It look very tiny..
You need to upgrade the front diff to a GU one!

I blew up my gearbox in my little Suzuki Sierra, found one on gumtree for 150 bucks 10 mins drive from my house and put it in myself with zero mechanical knowledge! Lucky it only weighed about 20 kilo 😂😂
