  • Today we explore the Steam Forum to see that people are complaining about the KUB AA in WARNO. A user propose to use those at 3 veterancy and so we set out to do exactly that to test it out on the field !

    its clear those units need to be visited by a commissar to encourage there aim the first group at least missing with all those. usually unless it happens more than id say forty percent i assume am not doing somthing right. would probably have to do a few tests to get a good idea.

    I personally never bother with heavy AA in mp matches as warsaw pact. When playing as warsaw pact I primarly go for a lot of harrasing anti air like manpad and a few mobile missile systems with radar, not to straight up stop the enemy air but to keep them busy and annoy them (maybe shoot a few down). Instead of investing in to a lot of AA I just go for mechanized pushes/rushes (later followed up by multiprong tank attacks) after the AT aircraft did there runs on smaller units or fake attacks.
    Sometimes they fail, But I have found it really catches the opponent of guard, especially when coordinating with a buddy on the flank to launch his own diversionary attack to draw the planes. Ussually I am fast enough to get enough mech/tanks out before the enemy can get up to many atgm's. And when he does I either pull back or just try to awnser them with towed artillery or rocket arty if I got them.
    If I succeed I try to gain as much ground as I can and spread out my infantry with the bmp's (or whatever IFV's/apc's I am fielding) in the back to give support fire. I then just try to stall to get my heavier vehicles/equipment out and go from there. If I dont succeed I pull back to a defensive position and just start massing arty for the mid-game.
    I feel like the best thing you can do against heavy airdecks is just spread out your units and keep doing small raids to have the enemy focus there attention on what is on my part a small investment. The main counter to my strat are those damned atgm's though :(. That and the terrible aim my gunners have sometimes.
    I find that this strat allows you to support your team a lot more on the ground, especially when they themselfs invest heavily into anti air or god forbid they go for warsaw pact airdecks xd.

      I’ll try that next. And yeah it’s almost impossible to to keep up with those damn planes haha

      True, but they don’t know if I’ll need it or not. Or I don’t know if it’ll be a 20min game or a 1h one.
