FIANLLY found the song i was looking for! burning for you - blue oyster cult!!!! i looked it up b4, but then i heard that riff again on tv and i couldn't remmeber where it was from omg, THANK YOU!!! it's so hard to serach for a song just based on a riff and the fact it's a supernatural ending song w/ car driving away at night... but i searched through all ur season guides and finally found it :D
the last song on the netflix version in season 1 ep 3 is killing me. "it goes Now im back on the road chasing every star ive got a feeling you know how ive come so far. I hope to see you again round here." someone please help! i cant find it anywhere.
I thank you so much that you have listed up all the songs here! I've searched endlessly for "1.22 Devil's Trap Triumph - Fight The Good Fight" Really, thank you very much! :)
the "original version" was never aired. This was just a pilot to show producers and whatnot, this is the music that Eric Kripke originally wanted to use, but they were unable to get the rights for all of it, so they ended up changing some things around.
The songs lyrics that i can hear are "I've traveled down that lonely road" then cuts out then comes back with "When push comes to shove im gonna rise above wont fall down no more" if someone knows this song that'd be great
@RoxyLepRocker It's a song that comes from one of these companies that produces music for things like this (tv shows, movies etc). It's supposedly easier and cheaper than trying to get permission to use 'real' songs from bands, but I don't think you'll be able to find it on the 'net (I haven't). If it helps, the company that it's from is Nichion Sounds Library (if I'm not mistaken).
from what I've been able to find out, the group does not seem to exist anymore. I think the song was made for use as background music on TV shows. So the little bit that we hear in the episode, may be all there is to it. It was also used in an episode of Numb3rs (episode 4x03 Velocity). I can't put the link to where I found that info, but you can search in google: "Numb3rs (2005) Episode Guide Season 4 - Music Guide - EpisodeWorld" it should be the first link that comes up
LOL! Thats alright. I haven't been able to place it either. Its going to drive me crazy for all eternity I guess! LOL. Thanks a ton for checking it out. Im a huge classics fan and I know it from somewhere. One day Im going to be driving down the road and hear it on the radio, crash and burn because I got so excited I finally found out what it was!!! ;p
In episode 19 of S1(watched on Netflix) when Dean plays the song on the radio the lyrics are, "So this is what it's like, I'm in love. So this is what I like to become." Everywhere I look it says it's Bad Time but the lyrics aren't the same nor does the song sound like the one in the Netflix version of that episode D: WHAT SONG IS IT?? I really like the song!
@JohnnyDeppFreaky3 because the first one was a pilot and they could not get the rights to the songs they wanted, so it aired with songs like greenday. On the dvd they where able to get the rights so they used the songs they had wanted into the first place.
TNT has been running re-runs of Supernatural. Today, they aired "Salvation" and "Devil's Trap," but the song played during the car crash wasn't Bad Moon Rising, or at least it certainly didn't sound like it to me. Either I wasn't paying attention or there's an alternate version to the ending, but I thought it should be mentioned so someone might check it out.
@Eddiefry to be honest, I have no idea why these haven't been taken down yet. the only thing I can think of is that each of the clips are short enough that the software they use to search for the music doesn't recognize them as copyright violations. I also vaguely remember reading somewhere that if a clip is less than 15 seconds it is not against the law or something like that. but I am not sure about that. sorry I'm not more help.
I love you - Just saw episode 17 Hell House with some friends, and just fell in love with the riff in "Burnin for You" by Blue Oyster Cult! Thank you, man! :D
@punchinface123 there are two versions of the pilot. I found the original version online, both versions are in my video. they couldn't get the rights to some of the music they wanted, so the DVD version has different music.
I just went and downloaded the i-tunes version and I see what you mean. I have no idea what the song is. I wonder why they changed it. Carry on My Wayward Son is so perfect for this show. it's odd that they would change it. I have noticed other minor changes here and there like that. In the original aired version of Wendigo, they used "Out Of My Hands" by Dave Matthews Band, but on the DVD, that song wasn't there. They just played some general background music instead.
there are two versions of the pilot. the first version was never aired on television. the songs were different for that version. if you keep watching the video to see the DVD version of the pilot, that music will probably be more familiar. sorry if that confused you.
Thank you! - I was talking about the second version at 1:04 in your other video. And I checked out that livejournal channel you had linked, and I don't think that there's a song, I just think they put the piece it together themselves.. Too bad though - It would have been a nice song! Haha
I have no idea how you would find it. I wouldn't mind knowing that myself. I'm not sure that there is much more to the song though. From what I've been able to find out, it is original music that was written specifically for that scene. it's possible that they didn't write anything more than the short bit we hear in the episode.
it is my understanding that the song was originally called "In the Garden of Eden" but since he slurs his words in the song, and people can't understand him, somewhere along the way the title got changed and it stuck. The only thing I know for sure is that on Iron Butterfly's own website they have the song listed as "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and they have an album with the same title. So that's the title I went with. :)
I read that the song was originally called "In the Garden of Eden" but then people couldn't understand the lyrics and called "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and eventually Iron Butterfly just changed the name of the song. I don't remember where I read it though, so I don't know how reliable the source was. I'll have to look into that.
actually, I've already started working on it. :) depending on how long it takes me to get caught up, I might end up waiting until the season is over, so I can have it all in one video. but if I get it finished up to the current episode, I might post it before that.
"Fight the Good Fight" by Triumph all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
the song that ends at 7:08 is called "Strange Face of Love" by Tito and Tarantula the song that begins at 7:08 is called "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas. all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
The first song is "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
lol LOVED THIS HUn, thanks so much, your an awesome vid maker x anyone knowhow to download what ha gonna do by classic, no-one seems to kknow what it is, on searches and stuff x awesome song x

I have a video called "Supernatural - Brothers Theme" that features that particular song. Different variations of it are used in many different episodes. I called it Brothers Theme because I didn't know what else to call it. I don't know what the real name is, or if it even has a real name.
"Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
hey, thanks for the help! I had the third song listed incorrectly in my list. but it's fixed now. the 7th song isn't guns and roses though.....it's AC/DC Back in Black all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
very good guide! i was woundering if you could help me out with something: in the episode "shadow", as the boys steps out of the car in their "alarm-guy-outfit," you can hear a rock guitar solo from the stereo. could you find out whats the name of the song?
I'm assuming you are referring to the song that plays during the recap. That song is "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas. Is that the one you are talking about? all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
ok, so I went and checked out the clip you are talking about, and I'm guessing you are not too surprised to hear that I have no idea what it is. :) I feel like I've heard it before somewhere too, but I just can't think what it is or where I heard it or anything.
I really like what you have done! There one piece of music I cant figure out. It's the one in "shadows" where Sam climbing up the elevator. Do you have any idea what it could be. Thanks
that theme is used in the show many times. I actually made a video about that theme. watch?v=xccDL0rKZqI I called it the "Brothers Theme" because I didn't know what else to call it. but you can check it out if you like. there is more information about it there.
"Paranoid" by Black Sabbath all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
no thats the song played when the shapeshifter is tearing his dean skin off in the sewer. we are talking about the opening scene when the shapeshifter gets caught by the police. its the very beginning of the episode on netflix.
Fire of Unknown Origin by Blue Öyster Cult all the songs that I have been able to figure out the names and artists of have been listed in the information section up next to the video.
I love how every episode of season 1 ends with the impala driving away
one of the few shows out there that actually plays some good music
Just noticed, in 6:09, Dean wakes Sam up to a song whose lyrics are "Fire of unknown origin took my baby away." WTF Dean.
Guns, cool car, cool music, hot chicks, creature killing, what else could a guy want?
the last song on the netflix version in season 1 ep 3 is killing me. "it goes Now im back on the road chasing every star ive got a feeling you know how ive come so far. I hope to see you again round here." someone please help! i cant find it anywhere.
In 1.02 Wendigo, the first song is Out of my hands by Dave Matthews Band from the album Stand Up
So to anyone who wanna know what is the song played in the episode 20: salvation( opening scene) is "carry on my wayward son" by Kansas
I thank you so much that you have listed up all the songs here!
I've searched endlessly for "1.22 Devil's Trap Triumph - Fight The Good Fight"
Really, thank you very much! :)
the music on the netflix versions have been changed. I don't know anything about all that music. sorry.
I've been making a playlist of music Dean listens to while driving... you just made my life so much easier.
At 0:17, it's actually a mashup between Jay-Z and Linkin Park. It's listed as Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer on the CD.
the "original version" was never aired. This was just a pilot to show producers and whatnot, this is the music that Eric Kripke originally wanted to use, but they were unable to get the rights for all of it, so they ended up changing some things around.
So to everyones who wanna knows what is the song from episode 21: Salvation( opening scene) is "Carry On My Wayward Son" by KANSAS
The songs lyrics that i can hear are "I've traveled down that lonely road" then cuts out then comes back with "When push comes to shove im gonna rise above wont fall down no more" if someone knows this song that'd be great
On the netflix version of skin, where dean is " shifting" the song playing is called mary by the Death riders. It took me awhile to find that song lol
@RoxyLepRocker
It's a song that comes from one of these companies that produces music for things like this (tv shows, movies etc). It's supposedly easier and cheaper than trying to get permission to use 'real' songs from bands, but I don't think you'll be able to find it on the 'net (I haven't).

thank you for making this , i read the discription and finally found the name of a song that was bugging me so much:)
One of the best series, besides Lost, thanks for making this Guide, the soundtrack of the series is really excellent. =)
Rock of ages appears several times, the best song from the OST
What a comprehensive job! I was trying to build a playlist for SPN and now you've given me WAY TOO MUCH to choose from! haha
Keep up the great work.
@TheAlliesCanHelp That song is 'Hey man, Nice shot' by Filter. Great song btw :)
from what I've been able to find out, the group does not seem to exist anymore. I think the song was made for use as background music on TV shows. So the little bit that we hear in the episode, may be all there is to it. It was also used in an episode of Numb3rs (episode 4x03 Velocity).

First episode ! In the car station !!! The song is " Ramblin man " By Alman Brother and in the car is Back in black ???
So the infamous tape-in-car goof initially wasn't really one. cool! thx for making/uploading! :-)
I really like the song!
the song in 1x01 where jessica says to sam to hurry up is Gasoline by Ginger. :)
Thats what plays on Netflix, when it originally aired it was "She Brings me Love"
@JohnnyDeppFreaky3 because the first one was a pilot and they could not get the rights to the songs they wanted, so it aired with songs like greenday. On the dvd they where able to get the rights so they used the songs they had wanted into the first place.

@punchinface123 there are two versions of the pilot. I found the original version online, both versions are in my video. they couldn't get the rights to some of the music they wanted, so the DVD version has different music.

@DesertStateNevada I'm pretty sure it's because the version of 99 Problems they used in the original pilot is a Jay Z/Linkin Park mashup.
That would be awesome! Thanks for trying to help out!
Thanx so much for creating this vid...i'm trying to create a Supernatural playlist on itunes and now i know what songs to pick =)

I read that the song was originally called "In the Garden of Eden" but then people couldn't understand the lyrics and called "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and eventually Iron Butterfly just changed the name of the song. I don't remember where I read it though, so I don't know how reliable the source was.

Gasoline by The Living Daylights I think is the first one in the pilot dvd edition
that theme is used in the show many times. I actually made a video about that theme.
