Have you ever done the video on how to connect the deadbolt to the Wi-Fi plug hub?

I filmed it. Connecting to the Wi-Fi was easy, but it was complicated getting it to work with Alexa so I've been stalling on editing the video. Maybe I should quickly do a video on connecting it to the Wi-Fi and save Alexa for later.

Hey, I have two questions, mayabe you can help me?
1st - I have the same deadbolt here but sometimes it does not lock automatically. Do you know how to fix that?
2nd - On my GeekSmart app there is an option called - voice control - do you know how that works?
    thank you.

Good questions. As far as the first one goes. I have also noticed that sometimes the deadbolt doesn't lock automatically. It didn't happen when I was making the video but it has happened since I installed it. I'm trying to figure out why it's not consistent. Usually it does lock, but not always. One time when it didn't lock, I went in and changed the settings and then it started auto locking again. I wish I had a solution for you. Let me know if you find out a solution. Maybe it needs a software update? Hopefully those at Geek Technologies can help us out with this one.
As for your second question, I'm pretty sure that has to do with when you connect the lock to a smart home device like Alexa or Google Home or the like. I'm making another video talking about this so when I'm finished I'll be able to confirm if that is what that remote voice unlock is for.
      Thanks,
      Jon

Have you paired a G3 Hub with Alexa? Can't seem to get Alexa to see it.

I don't know about a G3 Hub. I did set up the bridge that they sent me. It was easy to set up and connect to the home WiFi, but it was hard to get it working with Alexa.

Great video! I just got the same lock and I've run into an issue that I don't see addressed anywhere. It seems even after programming my fingerprints, anyone with a random finger is able to open the lock. Have you encountered this??? Since it's the weekend there's no customer service, and surely this is not by design because that kind of defeats the whole purpose lol

I haven't run across that. That would totally defeat the purpose of the lock! I have found that anyone can lock the door, but only those with registered fingerprints can open the door. I will test this later today, just to make sure.

I just checked mine to make sure and only the fingerprints that are programmed for my lock can open it. When using other fingerprints, the circle around the fingerprint turns red and blinks. And like I mentioned in my previous comment, I am able to lock the deadbolt with any fingerprint.

@@JonMorganMadnessThanks so much for taking the time to confirm that. I think there's definitely an issue with mine. I noticed it when I touched it with a finger I had not registered yet by accident, and then I grabbed a neighbor and she was able to unlock it as well! I did see one review on Amazon mention similar but thought it was user error... now not sure. Apparently their customer service line does not operate during the weekend, but I'm definitely going to be calling them Monday!

    great explanation;TU

I cannot get mine to function without the key in it. Seriously, with the key in the lock it works great. When I remove the key, it won't work. Its part of the locking mechanics somehow. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    • @JonMorganMadness

Hmmm, that's weird. It should work without having to use the key. That's the whole reason for having a smart lock.

@@JonMorganMadness the actuator rod (the rod that goes between the two parts and through the lock mechanism in the middle) was horizontal as per the instructions and your video. Once I turned it vertical it worked no problem.

This lock is easy to pick.

Just about as easy as any Schlage or Kwikset.

The app can't connect to the lock so I can't install it (can't connect to Bluetooth).

We installed it but if I'm not home and I need to unlock my door for my kid it won't let me cause of Bluetooth how do I unlock it if I'm not home?

You need to connect the lock to your wi-fi so you can then control it through the app on your phone over the internet. ruclips.net/video/z_KcmP4GYoY/видео.htmlsi=hDOCeMQxIt5UAZhP&t=492

You have to install a bridge. The one Geek Technology recommends is: GeekTale WiFi Bluetooth Gateway, Smart Hub on Amazon:
