Cheating is good when you think the game is too imbalanced in certain areas or in the case of Fallout Shelter, you may just want to play a game without waiting for stuff to happen.
I enjoy save editors, because it helps with getting the ball rolling for my dream vault, without waiting years.
The best way to play with save editors is on Survival mode. Double the awards, double the challenge!

@ 2:50 - the same applies to buying items though. Whether you use a save editor or buy from the shop, the game starts losing it's challenge.

For me. I played the game normally on Steam, but near the end, the temptation of a save editor was too much. and i used one. Now y base is pretty much unstoppable and i do regret some aspects.
The game definitely loses some of its appeal once the challenge is removed. :/

Is it possible to use a save editor to move rooms around? It would be nice to have my vault look nice without going through the pain of destroying and rebuilding everything.
So, personally I do use a save editor, it's mainly because I lost save files before due to really weird glitches, or because the vault suddenly got destroyed. I recently downloaded one because I lost a save file that was doing amazingly, and then suddenly all the dwellers started saying that they were in a room with a dead body despite there being none, so it was impossible to keep the happiness up.
I refuse to use it to get lunchboxes though.

Its actually a pretty good app to make challenges. I also actually wished I could just pick my own stats for at least one dweller
i would just use these for speeding up my dwellers walking to the quests or when my dweller is coming back from exploring
I'll never be tempted to use this, I played the game 'cause I was really bored and I'm (surprisingly) enjoying the game so much especially when I see the progress I made, the good items I collected from wasteland/quests, and when I stats up my dwellers! I even spent $5 to buy the starter pack and I just think of it as buying a paid game and as a way to support the game. I've been ignoring this game for the past 5-6 years because I didn't think it would be this enjoyable, if my 10 years old self have played this game he would've probably done this "cheat". Anyways, I'm just watching your entire Fallout Shelter playlist to learn new tricks and tips! Also keep it up! You're doing nice and very informative videos that would help the players.
Deathclaws made you rage quite after 60 dwellers yet and made you re-install the game and use a save editor
after watching your videos I figured out somehing what gives me some profits of having over a million caps. i am just exchangeing it in save editor. for example i'm "buying" +1 lunch box or pet carrier for -50 000 caps and i think it's a good price. it makes game more interesting and doesn't make it easier because i got more than 160 dwellers and resources are always on high level. caps aren't useless anymore
Question: Once you unlock higher tier production rooms (like the Nuclear Power Plant), is it worth tearing down your existing rooms & replacing them with the better versions? And if so, should you destroy & upgrade right away, or wait until you're at max dwellers & starting to rearrange the whole vault?
The newer rooms are definitely worth using, and I would recommend upgrading as soon as you're able to. Once you reach end game you'll have plenty of caps and resources to rearrange/edit everything for an optimal layout. Good luck! :)

Id just like a mod that speeds up training and other tasks that takes a lot of time, meant to make you come back day after day. There's a mod pack that makes everything instant but that's too much. Just wanna be able to play it like a normal game without being artificially dragged out.

I use a save editor, but only for minor adjustments like Vault hapiness or backup my Vault but nothing else. I enjoy the game anyway without cheats
150+ lunch boxes and no legendary dweller. Theres no challenge in opening lunchboxes, just awful odds.
I think that you can maybe use a save editor for fun, like when we use cheats on GTA, but also you lose immersion, and also don't benefit the devs...
And I think they could make cheats, or passwords, something like that, for the player that maximized their vault and want some fun, and also you could earn this cheats by achieving progress normally on the game, there are lots of games out there that use this mechanics to further extent the play time of the game...

You don’t really even need to turn on airplane mode. I still don’t think it’s a good idea though. It probably really messes with the time clock on the game making it confused 😐
It's not a good idea to change your time because it'll mess up your saves.

This save editor is a dream for me. I don't want to make my game easier but i really need some tools to plan out my vault. With that i can plan out where i want to put my rooms, and how i want my endgame vault to look like. (the main one of course, the one without using save editor).
Tried it, and works like a charm. I had the game from when it started on Android, and been kinda addicted to it. Now I'm cured. I don't need this game anymore. Thank you.

well if yall didn't update to the new version you could jailbreak your iPhone and get filza( or use FilzaJailed from tweakbox, the tweakbox way doesn't need jailbreak to work but it wont be as useful because of apple not allowing data to be edited)

Kind of like you said I would have my main account and then a test account. The test account would kinda be like the one I would do the date and time glitch and the Loot drop glitch on. So if you use this on a different vault and not the one you play the most on. I think it's fine

Omega Gamer It has been a while. I take a bit to adjust to new situations, especially moving across the world. Right now I'm in the midst of finding a new place to live, learning a new language, and a lot of other things are in motion.
I love making videos, but sometimes it's nice to take a break; even from you're favorite hobbies. I'll put out a channel update video sometime, and I do look forward to uploading more in the future. :)

save editors are just great, when you completely fuck up. i accidentally sold my unique detective outfit and was about to stop playing the game because i was so pissed about my own stupidity. luckily i could add the outfit again to my storage with a save editor. otherwise it would have been a major bummer after playing this specific vault for so many months (and also buying stuff for real money). so, i would say there are even cases where editing can keep you playing the game and maybe investing even more real money into it in the future.
another thing i have considered (but not done yet), is to add all the legendary dwellers to my main vault, that i got in other vaults (and throw them out in my other vaults). i'd like to have one of my vaults 'as complete as possible'.

Im using a GitHub (the best website for coders to start learning btw) Project on my Windows 10 PC and it’s getting updated really quickly! It’s really great for ppl that get shit on all the time (not me but probably others) and don’t want to work so hard or just want to test out which weapon, base defense etc. is the best! I’m using it on my 2nd save file bc my main file is holy to me 😅 I’m kinda the guy that always „hacks“ in games bc it’s just funny sometimes but in this game it’s really only good for testing and not to mainly play it with „hacks“! Overall Fallout shelter is a great game (even without cheats)
I think the only time I might use it to test things or plan a vault layout, but I wouldn't use it for a normal game and definitely not on my main save

I used to have a android and I couldn’t get my vault that I worked on for over a year on my old iOS device so I used that pimp my vault just to kind of simulate that vault that I had on my iphone. I didn’t completely build it back up but I did just enough to where I wouldn’t be starting at the beginning completely

I've got it and u should b able to add weapons and armour. If u want a challenge set aside a vault save slot and use one to see what hax u can do and another legit save
I'd never use this on my main account, it's taking all the fun away. But I guess I'll try on a seperate Vault.

as someone who lost a save, i plan to use the vault editor to make a new vault but put it where my old save was :( i had bought a starter pack and had 5 main dwellers at level 30 and 5 pets and 3 mr. handys. the only thing is i was on the last paula quest and idk if there is away to advance in those without redoing them. bc i had also finished the bottle and cappy quest line too. so if any one knows please tell me or ill probably just give myself enough quantums to run through them really fast.

I have a save editor that lets me do everything, create characters, add lunch boxes, etc but you’re not lying when you say it takes the fun out of it. I have more fun playing on my IPhone vault where I have to grind for everything than I do with my Android version that has a save editor. The only reason I even use save editor is because I feel like the game is pretty greedy when it comes to giving out lunch boxes, especially after you get past the beginning. Lunch boxes become super rare and a lot of times when you get them they don’t have anything valuable in them. You can craft a lot of the items but it’s basically impossible to get legendary dwellers, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I think you should support the developers and I have many times in the past but it shouldn’t take a million years to get a lunch box. Especially after all the hours we put into this game. I get they have they have to make money some way but I hate how everything is pay to win now days. You can have that and still support grind to win players.

Honestly if I were to ever use a save editor in my Fallout Shelter, I would only use it for the Quantum. I’m impatient, and waiting 10+ hours for my Dwellers to arrive at a quest location that’ll take me roughly 2-3 minutes to clear out isn’t exactly what I’d call “challenging gameplay”.

Cool, it's the first time any of my comments have been featured in a video. And not just one but two!
I have never gotten a corrupted save from using my save editor (not Pimp My Vault) but I always back up my save using the "Backup For Fallout Shelter" app as a precaution. I don't trust cloud saving. But I enjoy my save editor as I have no intention to give Bethesda any of my money. That company is dead to me.
As for the challenge part I always play edited or modded save files whenever possible. I like to customize my experience instead of relying on how the developers intended the game to be played.
Modding can definitely bring new life into a game. Playing Skyrim in 4K with 25+ mods was almost too good to be true. I spent a good 5 hours just taking screenshots and marveling at the scenery. My graphics card wasn't too happy though. ;)

I had a Pimp My Vault early on and it kinda ruined it for me. Got rid of the app to remove the temptation and the game is much more fun.

Kanzu you back up saves by toggling that cloud button. When you activate it, it saves your vault as it currently is to the cloud

Damn.. I'm honestly, devastated to learn that this shit exists.. Been playing the game on Survival Mode for quite some time now, even though my progress is slow and I already had 41 dead dwellers I can't revive (duh survival mode). I'm still having fun and yeah Survival Mode IS A LOT MORE FUN than normal mode. Using this shit would just hands down take that fun away.. Also, I've never spent a dime on the game... :)
Save editors definitely remove the challenge of the game, a bit of a double edged sword.

I say it's fair to use but not very much maybe like use it once a week and give a max of 1000 things(not including weapons characters or costumes or nuka cola) meaning you can use it on coins power water and food

May I share a sad story: After almost 500 hours of clean, non-cheating vault gaming on Steam, with over 1000 quantums piled up with great sacrifice, 196 dwellers, almost complete weapon and outfit list, all recipes unlocked, all themes unlocked, more than half my dwellers had legendary weapons, about 80 pets, and I was on the process of replacing all sub-par dwellers with +17 endurance supersoldiers... game crashed and save file gone. What was I expecting? It's a Beth title so, yeah... Every Beth title goes like this: Man has candy, man gives kid the candy, kid is happy, then man takes candy back, now kid is crying. It's so freaking lame because they really do make nice games, even if full of bugs. I know, I should have created backup files. Thing is, when i started 4 months ago, it was just 'a free to play' that I don't care about very much. Then it become somewhat the center of my (gaming) world. So yeah, now I'll use this marvel to try and get back to the point where I was. Rant over

Time Hacking is the easiest. It helps a lot when you need to push your Vault further. I used it for a while but I’m not planning to anymore.
I was in so advanced stage in this game but i deleted it thinking i saved it and when i tried to restore my shelter i was shocked that i can't get it back... Oh man i got kinda depressed, I realised that i lost months of work on that game

Stupid Question: If this edit were to be used on a Windows 10/Xbox One Play Anywhere vault, could it be detected and then that person banned?
Its a free single player game, why would they even bother to ban you, that would require they to spend money looking for you, and would deter you from even playing the game again and maybe buying something. Either way, the Save Editor is still not very morale to use.

That's the fun part, you don't. That is mainly a Nintendo thing were they have a lock on most of their consoles and games now. Yes you can play outside Nintendo games on the switch but the device itself is still under that lock making it very hard to add content and edit game files. But it all comes down to Nintendo's policies and ToS were they are very very "Our shit is our shit" mentality, taking down and banning anyone who goes outside it.
