Thanks Jus, another great and informative video, i really need to stick to sampling going forward, i have only purchsed one or two blind buys and didnt have any car crashes thankfully, but it is crazy to do that really! big lv x
Bloom are pretty pricey and only 1ml in a plastic atomiser, Jovoy is amazing, larger amount in glass atomisers, great customer service, affordable and they’ve always given me extras too. Another nice one is Roullier White.
I personally have used myfragrancesamples for about 40 decants - multiple ML options and a large selection of niche and designer - they also include extra samples with each order (my last order had 20 purchased decants and shipped with 28 decants)
This will become increasingly important in the future as the safety of allowing customers to handle tester bottles will now forever be in question. I've always used the Sephora program as an excellent way to sample widely available fragrances for free, but who knows what's going to happen with that too. Asking an SA at the fragrance counter never hurts either. They're usually quite eager to push samples of newly stocked products.
Absolutely. It’s going to be a very different world at retail and sampling can only increase in importance. Thanks for sharing Sephora, that’s a great one! Take care.
Thank you so much for sharing our perfumery for samples and subscription! We feel that sampling is very important and try to make it as easy and fun as possible.
The Perfume Society in UK are a great way to sample fragrances. They offer themed boxes with mix of samples including designer and niche and a couple of dedicated niche boxes per year. Also offer discovery sets from likes of Amouage, Sana Jardin, Fragrance Du Bois x
I know this video is from two years ago, so maybe Scentbird has changed, but I have seen Parfum de Marly, House of Creed, Initio and other niche brands on there. There is a $10 "Saks" charge for these fragrances, but at least there are options. I think the sizes are fair as well. I tried Delina and it was a pretty good amount for $24. They usually have the popular ones on there as well, like Aventus, Delina(regular and Exclusif), Layton, Oud for Greatness, Musk Therapy.
Relevant issue, at this moment, given the fact that retail shopping is shaken up -in many ways. Who knows, perhaps no longer sniffing the testers or cards, generously offered by SAs. This "new normal" thing across the planet [implying we as humanity were already "normal"... don't mind that rant🤣😂] calls for learning about this sample-before-buy methods. Boils down to getting in touch with trusted sellers. I've also had great experiences with Diptyque's policies, Josephine.
👍no more to say 🙂 Ok few more words 😉 The nicest sample set I got so far is from Amouage, it is really noble and included 12 fragrances from the brand👍
I buy my samples on Jovoy and Nose. This is really useful to try new fragrances. I usually test on paper first to get a "neutral" base and if I like it then I try it on skin to confirm that it works well with my body chemistry.
Hi I used to smoke pipe in the past using captain black tobacco All the ppl around used to love my pipe tobacco smell Are you familiar with such tobacco? If yes I want your help to get perfume just like that smell of captain black tobacco
Hi Josephine! Those bottles of Irish Leather and Lalibela behind you always catch my attention, do you have them there for an aesthetic purpose or because they are the ones you usually use?
I don’t think you mentioned Ebay. I get most of mine there plus many lovely decants. Today I finally received a Boadicea the Victorious Impérial decant I ordered about 1 1/2 months ago! I really love it too. And some houses send free samples! For example Maison Sybarite who makes water-based emulsified frags and are eager to find customers/exposure. Anyway once they did that I just had to order one- I wonder if you would like it- Spicy Calabria.. Makes me want to squeeze it somewhere else on my body haha
Was hoping if you could help me out here. I want to get to buy plenty fragrances. Now the problem is, would you say that very many fragrances have different smells. For example, would you say that all the Tom ford all smell differently.. same as Dior, channel, Paco etc etc
Yes absolutely - all Time Ford fragrances smell different. What I would watch out for are “flankers” which are different versions of a specific fragrance so they maintain some DNA of the original fragrance but have additional ingredients e.g. Dior homme EDT and Dior homme intense or Chanel Allure Homme Sport and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Extreme.
Great video idea Josefine. After so many blind buys that didn't work out, I started buying 5ml decants on ebay, saving me a lot of money because I am very picky :-) I also happen to be a barfly at Scent Bar, but they obviously haven't been open for a while. So, Ebay is a good way to go!
@@marianunu8024 That's unfortunate to hear I've never experienced anything like that luckily. Maybe poorly packaged is the worst I've gotten. Honestly, I just look for a combination of price, good reviews, and shipping time. I just compare a couple listings and go with my gut. Maybe don't go with the cheapest price or deals that seem to good to be true??? Good luck with your sampling!
Jus de Rose I’m Venezuelan, currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It’s hard in general to get samples in South America, and don’t get me started on niche fragances 😫 you can solely buy them online or through resellers and not only do they turn out being even much more expensive than they already are, but there’s no way to try them beforehand (btw sorry if my english is not perfect). That’s why I appreciate reviews like yours a lot! I’ve seen we have pretty similar taste 💛
I’ve always just jumped in the deep end without testing. 🤣-call it a character flaw, what can I say. I’m waiting for Piano Santal now after your review; I’m sure I’ll like it. After that, I’m going for Milano from Fragrance Du Bois; that bad boy is £205 for the 100ml!!! You do such a great job explaining the notes that it kinda’ feels like your trying it first. YOU BETTER BE RIGHT for £205! 🤣
It's also available in their fashion capitals sample pack on their website, I've just ordered it for milano in particular, demi's code works for the sample packs too. FYI, I just spoke with FDB they're having issues with warehouse refusal (whatever that means) and manufacturing is behind due to obvious reasons so stock is limited, might be worth grabbing your milano while you can! Especially since demi's code runs out soon!
Thank you... am A novice, so this video is a great help in sharpening the “search skills” for samples
Good to hear it may be useful :)

I personally have used myfragrancesamples for about 40 decants - multiple ML options and a large selection of niche and designer - they also include extra samples with each order (my last order had 20 purchased decants and shipped with 28 decants)
They also have the fastest processing time I’ve ever experienced from any decant service A+
Best prices to, as I am checking as we speak

Great video! Twistedlily and indiescents are other options in the US

Yes Nose! That’s a great one if you’re based in France. I agree with you - also always test on paper first. Have a lovely Saturday 😊
@@jusderose Thank you Joséphine. Have a nice week-end 😉

Please can you recommend some sellers because there are those who sell watered down samples
