Thats what i like about your videos, its a outdoor kitchen in all its reality and you doing the best of cooking with what you have to deal with , makes you unique
I definitely need to streamline it a bit though, once we have the solid roof up I can rearrange a bit, atm the bench that I stand on with the stove at the end, I have to walk all the way around that and into another u shape to wash my hands, and the fridges are over near the kids washup sink, so further away, the freezers and food shelves even further lol, I get my steps in each day!
You do not need to apologize for the way you live or how you do things. You are so authentic and very pleasing to watch and listen to and make your off grid life look easier than it must be. I am loving the extra videos here lately.
I know you are on 'the diet' to support Daryl, but it is really working for you. Your skin is amazing, you look so fresh and as an added bonus..thinner, especially around the jaw and neck. You have done so well!
You do know, that those of us who watch you and love the way you do stuff, would very happily watch your current style of videos just with a single topic - like when you do your shorts
You are off grid. I love that and why I keep watching. I love that I heard Lamington "talking" in the background. Forget about the negative comments. Your kitchen is terrific. I love the baguette's you make and the mini baguette's looked great. No cottage cheese to be found in your area. That is so amusing. Love you, from USA
Your garden looks amazing! I would be so happy if my plants looked like yours. Please please ignore the negative nellies and know that 99.9% of us enjoy anything that you are willing to show. Your such a talented woman.
We have had some really consistent wet weather, it has done wonders for the gardens, once it dries out and we have to hand water, thats when it gets challenging again :S. mind you, tomorrow, I'll show the weeds that have appreciated the rain too!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and your great smile! I was giggling as you finally had the epiphany that it was drier cottage cheese that made your luscious wraps. I can’t tell you the number of times I’m looking for something and finally break down and ask someone where is this, look down and it’s right in front of me, it’s too funny. Your garden looks gorgeous. It looks like Darrell‘s arches of fencing are definitely working.
Firstly, I just wanted to say that I notice that youre face is glowing. youre skin looks fresh and healthy (I am low carb/keto also).. secondly, I cant believe people feel the need to make any negative comments on youre yard, or any other part of youre life. People need to realise that youre home is a working homestead, not a showpiece !! Just ignore the negative people.. 99% of us are here because we think you are amazing…
Had been looking at a smoker so your comments were welcomed. I would love a great kitchen, but we all work with what we’ve got. Sorry to hear you have negative comments about your kitchen. Xmas soon, oh lord.
I will make sure to go more in depth on it as I try a few more things, so far I've only done simple, and I'm loving the simplicity of it over the last one I had, but the fuel it is chewing is quite considerable, so I think I definitely need to use it for shorter cooks and/or make sure to fill it up!
I've made your baguette recipe and EVERYONE loves it. I split them after they are baked, smoother with pesto, fresh mozzarella and roasted red bell peppers. How's your BP?.Thanks for another great video. ❤
You know, I would rather watch you working in your outdoor rural Australian kitchen, than some of the staged for show kitchens on some other channels. Wow, that was a super long sentence. It is what it is. :)
I was hoping to get it a bit more ‘done’ we need the other bed covers and D is re rigging the shade cloth for me a bit and the IBCs need topping up etc etc lol. The kids job this weekend is to help me clean up the weeds a bit and reorganise so maybe after that!
Hello ur brisket looks amazing. It has extremely good color around the edges like it's supposed too❤🎉 I'd love to reach out an snag me some slices. It looks yummy ❤🎉
It had a great bark on it and the pinkness, it was pretty fall apart! It didn't cut real well cold though, I dunno whether I took it off the heat just a touch too early, or if it is just because it was a cut of chuck rather than 'actual' brisket!
When the moaners live your life and still have time to complain about the mess, that’s when you might need to take notice - otherwise, it’s not affecting them in any way, shape or form therefore they have no room to whinge about it and you do right to ignore the comments.
Hehe, I don't take them to heart, but even I get frustrated at the state of the place sometimes, I know that all my food surfaces are clean, but you never eat anything off the ground lol, especially atm, Lamington is still sleeping on the patio *sigh* lol
I can't wait every week when one of your videos pop up. I wouldn't worry about what people say. Your videos are real every day life not made pretty and fake and not real life.
Your baguettes and cottage cheese wraps looked amazing. I has a go at making cottage cheese, but as you say doesn't make a lot for amount of milk used. Actually made mine into cream cheese spread which is two steps further on in process. Have the UHT full fat milk to have another go but keep forgetting to buy cream as I never use it. Maybe after watching your video I will try making some again for Christmas. Looking forward to your next video. Love from the UK ❤
Wow just watched an ad after your video. Two guys making loaded fries. One with frozen fries baked in the oven with mince, cheese, jalapeños and lettuce the other with fries done in the air fryer with vanilla ice cream, pecans, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and mint leaves on the top. A McCanes ad. What a hoot.
I love the garden as a background! It’s bustin! 😂 we have a pit boss smoker and I never have enjoyed smoked beef. Just not my favorite. You should try chicken wings they get crispy and Smokey! Yum!! So delicious! Also, smoked cream cheese! Ugh I’m drooling!!
I love smoked corned beef/pastrami, that's really good, but yeah, i'm not sure re the chuck roast, I wanted to like it! but I've been pulling it in the pressure cooker instead mostly!
Hi Nyssa. I know cottage cheese is hard to get, I need to have low fat. I wonder if I could you low fat milk.. ??? My word you're raised garden beds are looking fantastic ... dont worry about comments about your kitchen and equipment!!!!! Light container's always look worse than darker ones as your green one looked fine... I do love your beads as well , are they for a medical purpose? 😊.. Happy week ahead..
Apparently the cottage cheese made from full fat milk ends up about 2% which I assume is low fat milk ? Adding the cream in gets it back up to full fat / 4% but don't quote me on that because of course its all working on American ratios and I haven't looked into it fully! The kids used to all have amber because of the theoretical teething aspects of it, and we used to have the twins in two different colours to tell them apart as babies hehe. I get some pretty bad psoriasis and at times my jewellery was really affecting my skin, so I bought an adult one of these to try and see if it was less irritating, and then ended up getting myself another, hehe, so there's lots of anecdotal evidence about it helping with various things, but I don't know how accurate it all is :D
Oh ok , I am going to try it. Thankyou.. My grandchildren children had the beads for teething. They were not available when I had my children ... also there is nothing wrong with Bassa fish if you treat it right .. Its very economical and a great price to add fish into your diet.. I do my with zuchinni tomato onion garlic and lemon pepper.. 👍😊
@ the kids like it because it’s got a firm texture and mild flavour, it works well. And it was a good price at Costco and each fillet was in its own bag so not all stuck together which made it really convenient!
Firstly, you do more for your family in your”conned together” kitchen than most do in their designer kitchens so just ignore them. Secondly, dipping the fish in a flour then in the batter helps the batter stick to the fish. Also, defrosted fish will give better results. This advice is only if you want to try fried fish again. If not then just ignore it.
Most of the fish was defrosted, but the frozen bits definitely didn't help, and because of the whole keto thing, I couldn't dip in flour, but I did try dipping in egg white powder first, because like you say flour normally helps! but nothing seemed to work lol, and tbh it just was a lot of work for meh results, so I think I'll stick to using the fish in marinara and grilled hehe.
Love the cottage cheese wraps I make a cottage cheese bread but it does have oat flour in it so not very keto but I follow low carb so a slice isn't too bad.
Non Australians are probably very confused by the Gaytime flavour. 😂 PSA Golden Gaytimes are one of the best ice creams you can get here in Oz. This is a hill I will die on!!
hehe, I didn't think about that, yes! bit like my goon bag comments.. hehe. But I ADORE gaytimes.. so good. FX the flavour of the protein powder is 'somewhere' similar
Hi Nyssa, I've been watching your video's for a while now, all my working like I worked in fish n chip shops & we always rolled the fish in flour first, it helps the batter stick to the fish, also I can tell you have lost weight, your beads around your neck are a bit looser, well done & also for just keeping it real
Yeah, I would normally too if I was making non keto stuff! I did try diping it in a bit of egg white powder first, to see if that helped and it made a little bit of difference, but not much :S. I don't think I'll do it again, it just wasn't really worth it. I actually noticed that the tighter fitting bead isn't rolling up as much atm, so maybe some fluid loss! :D
Not sure if you like turkey breast but I just had smoked turkey breast over thanksgiving and it was so much more tender and juicy then traditional turkey. Maybe give that a try to help fill smoker next time? Turkey breast is definitely cheaper here then beef etc so if it's something you like might be cost effective. And it can be sliced thin like deli meat too. Oh maybe smoke ham too. 😅 now I want a smoker 😂
I definitely like chicken smoked, so I should see about turkey, they're not always super avail here, but we do tend to have them around your thanksgiving/christmas for the people who want them! :D
Next supply run is week before xmas? Hopefully things will be in stock l read about the distribution workers strike with stock not being delivered to the big supermarkets
Yes, about the 18thish I go down, I wanted one last one before Christmas, so I don't have to deal with new years etc. I haven't seen anything about that, I'll have to have a look, it was always going to be a shocking trip though, that close to Christmas :S
