Definitely the impression you get in the books, way moreso than in the games. Bourbon is just the character that made the biggest mark on my memory - the second I encountered him in the book I had a mile-wide grin and immediately read everything he said with his game voice.
Metro Last Light is one of the best games I have played! The atmosphere is great, the whole place is created with great care to the details - everything is so good looking. Damn, I love these textures so much. Ukrainians really know how to make games. The stealth works perfectly, the gameplay is fun combination of stealth and shooting, the characters are complex and memorable, the weapons are interesting and fun to customize. 4A Games, you guys are great! You've created a masterpiece!

Epic win. Really good job, definitely one of the best games I have ever palyed and I played a fuckton of games.
Metro: Last Light is part of Glukhovsky's Metro 2035. He wrote the game himself to be part of the book. (This is unlike the 2033 game which was very loosely based on the source material rather than being canon.) If they continue down this road, it might be awhile before we see another Metro game. However, there are a lot of other official Metro novels about other characters written by other authors that 4A could play with if Artyom's arc is over.

Khan is spiritual and one of the best-characterised characters in the game. He is the guy who gives you something to think about in an otherwise sneak-and-shoot journey. He makes you question your decisions and your actions. Also, Username is that one guy who sees religion anywhere. Demons in this game being called demons because, seriously, did he even see what they look like? It's pretty good description!
FYI this game was developed on a budget 1/10th the size of games like Call of Duty and Bioshock Infinite. The team is obviously talented and passionate, they just need to pull a CD Projek and become their own publisher.

The Metro games are very different to Fallout, I didn't like fallout too much but I LOVE Metro. It's linear but there are some limited RPG elements to it (like currency and weapon upgrades etc) The story is also a lot better IMO and the atmosphere is amazing.
This game is gonna be awesome. I played the first one and it's a very good game, for me the only dissapointment is the story is short and lack of character costumization.
i'm sure deep silver didn't buy the series just to sell this already finished game and be done with the series. i'd expect more and I heard they may make 5 more story driven dlcs!
