Most other AL811 tuner videos I have seen aren't pushing it as hard (near the redline), and they are letting the amp cool for 10 seconds between test runs.
I enjoyed your demo of the AL811H.I'm a cw op. The 650 watts output on cw will fill my needs definitely. :)Waiting for the amp to arrive and appreciate your video.73,Ron
I never used more than 65 watts of drive for full output and I ran an 811H for well over 10 years. It appears you either have an issue with the tubes or something else?
When you are tuning up the transmitter always have the amp. in standby and let the tubes rest about fifteen seconds. What you did will wear the tubes out fast.
Hey thanks alot for the video, i have an awesome elmer and he showed me everything about this amp that i could want. Sometimes though i just need a refresher thanks again 73 W3CWT
Having to key up to switch the meter from HV to Ip is NOT it normal and maybe a harbinger of something shaky coming down the road. You might want to contact Ameritron tech support to see if anyone else has had this issue and how to resolve it.

Maybe the difference between 65 and 75 watts drive indicated are pretty close - ya think??

You're pretty rough on tubes.
Hi is it ok to use an 811H amplifier with an IC 7300 regarding the PTT and ALC lines direct...please from Fred g4vvq UK

This amp is only supposed to do 400 watt max on cw. You're overdriving the amp..

I just bought a used one the other day. I'm sure the manual says "No more than 80 watts of drive".
It’s says 65 watts of drive.

Dave you may be right. I sold this amp though 3 years ago and as far as I know it is still working fine.
Buying one next week yes you can use it on 11 meters and cut the green wire
Why would you want to
Wouldn't you want cut the green wire THEN use it on 11 meters?
@@lizzyfan1986Because he probably talks on 10 meters or He can.
Can't see control... not helpful
Can I transmit in 11 meters with this amplifier? 73
