Because of that Shadow was grateful for that and the fact that her and the other mobians let him stay with them on their home planet despite him being created by Gerald Robotnik. Throughout the time he stayed with them he noticed that Amy Rose had a crush on Sonic and was trying to do everything for him to notice her and Shadow thought that if it was him as Sonic he would just give her little attention and then eventually understand her feeling towards him and return the favor which Sonic pretty much never does. The only person that would embrace a person that has a crush on him was Shadow everytime Amy does nice stuff for him in a friendly way, family way, and/or a romantic way Shadow would do the same because that's who he is despite him being mysterious and edgy.
