I loved how she brought the 11-year-old girl to life. (I suppose it helped that Louise Brealey is a small-statured woman!) And Hiddleston as Lincoln? So much fun.

He's an actor. .... it's his job. It's called acting. You start studying for 3 years at drama school.and learn about accents vis a vis tongue positions, pitch, rhythm etc. It's what actors should be able to do if they studied well. It's a job he's rehearsed it for some time beforehand. That's why he gets paid for it.

I've been an admirer of tom for a while but i do feel that Louise's acting and versatility is extremely underrated.
Now i know that the whole cast of Sherlock's know how to read letters =)

It took me a minute to realise that women had to tease their husbands, because they couldn't vote themselves.
Holy shit his voice acting ability is amazing. I couldn't even tell it was him without looking at it.

It has been reported by his contemporaries that Lincoln had a rather high and reedy voice, but that he used it very effectively. Probably the best Lincoln actor to capture this was Daniel Day Lewis in _Lincoln._ However in my mind he will always have the deep, sonorous voice as Tom and many other actors have portrayed. It seems fitting, and I don't think Abraham Lincoln would be offended at the interpretation.
I really hope that he will play one day Lincoln. He's perfect for that role.

There's a followup to this pleasant correspondence. Later in the year when Lincoln made a whistle-stop in Westfield, NY, he called Grace Bedell out of the crowd and thanked her for her kind suggestion as he displayed the beard she recommended.
