I'm curious about the lack of a color timer on this Ultraman. To me, it's a key part of Ultraman's design.

Actually they using the earliest consept of Ultraman from a painting created by mr Tohl Narita and the painting is called "The Incarnation of Justice & Beauty" they do it to respect/commemorate mr.Tohl Narita. They make it cause they make it look more alien

As a westerner, I would lke to say that while some may like the new godzilla monster movies here, all the people who've seen Shin Godzilla have preferred it over the shitty blockbuster godzilla films. They don't really remember them, while the new shin godzilla seems to be more memorable to them. It's kinda like the new marvel movies; those movies are fun, but they are kinda samey and unmemorable. From what I've seen from Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, they really love these properties and want to make a statement with them, which is far from what the modern tsubarya Ultraman and Legendary Pictures' Godzilla properties has.
P.S. - We did like Shin Godzilla, we just didn't get it till 2018... so it was just a lack of of audience. Most people who don't like it, couldn't follow it or didn't understand the context (and it wasn't that many people btw).

Also, My Dad introduced me to Ultraman when I was a little kid, so this movie looks absolutely fantastic. I hope Hideaki Anno works on my fav Ultraman, Ultraseven, at some point.

I'm In the USA: Grew up with the orig Ultraman( when it was available ). Stressing about when I can see this new Shin Ultraman! It looks so good in the trailers! Any idea when it will be in the USA? I might have to finally get a passport and fly to Japan.

To be fair, I don't like the cgi present for the monsters. It looks like live action Pokemons, not that realistic. Contrast this with Shin Godzilla, which actually looks like it can exist beside your town or village.

That's what they want to make, Ultraman is an alien not a human
