Been enjoying your vids Richy! Im sure you will enjoy the rest of your itinerary ! To answer your questions concerning the police checkpoints, they are found at the entrance and exits of all cities and towns and at major intersections on the main routes, and this all over the country. This ensures security obviously and u get a sense of it pretty much everywhere you go, but is also useful to control entries and exits, regulate traffic, control illegal merchandise (obviously hash traffic in the norht) but also general commercial goods. 99% of the time, they usually know who they are looking for, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear ! The police force and general social services in Morocco, especially in recent years are highly considered by its citizens. Even if stopped, it will be routine and they may bring up a friendly chat with you as, they too, enjoy meeting the growing number of tourists and especially adventurers like you in Morocco! All the best for your future adventures and enjoy Morocco to the fullest, it is truly a blessed country with humble and generous people wherever you go!
Richy I must congratulate you on your presentation style, it is almost like being there with you. Unfortunately, age has caught up with me and I am unable to travel anymore, however, as a lifelong biker your videos are a great way to still have some sense of what we as motorcyclists enjoy. Looking forward to the next episode,Thanks.
That cloudy bit reminded me of life in the East Coast of Scotland in the summer when the haar (sea mist) comes in and drops the temperature by about 5c. Have enjoyed watching these! 😉
I absolutely love it Richy. I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I love all your content, but for me personally this series is the best yet. Well done Richy 👏🏻👏🏻
Looks like an amazing place, I'm not too sure about you being freezing after the last few years' adventures 😂 definitely cooler out of the sun. Looks so clean, no litter. Roll on next episode 🏍👍👌
Great content Richy, albeit its not somewhere I would go personally because of some health issues i have, its good entertainment watching you do it, and I guarantee it will inspire someone else out there to get down to morocco solo.
Another Fantastic episode Rich 👏🏻👏🏻 you can’t beat getting out & about, finding out how other cultures do things , Really fascinating, Having a guide Has got to be the way to go & a fantastic way to contribute to the local community 👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Richy, Steve Draper here (Isle of Wight). Loving the Morocco trip although concerned about the first 30+ hours on the road - that would be about three days for me 😆😆 Approaching 72nd birthday, I still have numerous tour plans on my Tiger 900GT, some of which may well become reality. Looking forward to switching onto Ep4 when the Management gets tired of QVC'S shopping channel. I know the trip's completed but take care out there anyway. As always, I'm inspired by these trips. SteveD👍🤟
Brilliant video, can’t believe how good the roads are around the built up areas, and how clean the streets are, roads in wales 🏴 are appalling in the built up arrears, the countryside roads are great , what a fantastic place, and great history lesson 👍🏻
Fantastic tour so far Richy, Thanks so much for showing us through the leather site in fez! I was a little worried about you when you were overnighting through France going out on country roads. Being so tired and travelling in unknown areas at night off road. I can see why you just wanted to get down to Morocco now. But I was wishing you had injected a little more time travelling through France for your own safety. Nonetheless I can now see why you wanted to go down there so badly. Travel safe and looking forward to the rest of the series. Your storytelling with the camera is very friendly and enlightening. Fantastic job! Keep it up
Richy mate this is just so enjoyable and informative too watch, lovin it. in a way it reminds me of the old Whickers world Documentarys, a lot of homework done and it shows my friend ...Brilliant 👌Regards Glenn.👍
Really enjoyable travel vlog that showed us some fantastic scenery , as a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine I've tried a lot of different local delicacies but never come across a pigeon donut before, I must add it to the "must try list" , one point worth mentioning is using a bit of the local 'lingo' always goes a long way, would like to suggest starting with a few ' Shucran' (Thank you) they always help, looking forward to the next episode of your Moroccan tour.
Nice to see what it's actually like, no bike required for that one, to your credit sir. Went to Agadir solo in 1996. Got spotted by a guide, taken to a small town Taghazout 'terra-zoot' just up the coast. Stayed for a week..wine, women, weed, sea, guide brought a cook in had a great time. Now living in Thailand for 8 years as you say culture shock. Thai's don't speak English much. Need patience and respect, easier said than done sometimes (for me). Thanks Rich, appreciate the effort mate.
A few years ago, I went to Vietnam, bought a little 110 and travelled from Hanoi down to denang via the coast passing through small towns hai long bay, marble mountain and finishing on the top gear road hai van pass. I’ve struggled to capture that experience again since of the completely different culture. Looks like this is exactly that mate! Take it all in mate!! 💙
Yes I totally understand that, mate. The search for 'that' elusive feeling. I know nothing is ever the same after the first time, but I really hope I can 'feel' that for some time, yet. I'm sure Vietnam was also incredible! Would love to hear more about your trip!
Excellent video and commentary as always. 🙂 Those crazy "tailgating" bulk tippers constantly reminded me of the classic 70's "B" film called "Duel". 😞😠
It's as well that you decided to take a guide for the medina not because you would be unsafe but it's a big place and you could get lost very easily. Glad you enjoyed it it's a wonderful place.
We all know different cultures exist in the world, and we can access them by airplane, but to travel to them om your own motorcycle has got to be awesome.😊
I was there about 6years ago went round the tannery very interesting, we were all on motorbike tour from England, your going next to atlas mountains which my wife who was riding pillion reckons they are on par with the grand canyon be good to see your reactions after your epic American adventure 👌
Great video. I just went out for an hour and half today. Not quite the same 🥸, but still a ride. Perhaps you mentioned it in the first episode and I missed it, but I was just wondering why you did not put the tyres on when you left. Keep riding. It looks fabulous. Heard good stories about Morocco. Hope you continue to confirm the same.
Nailed it again mate, really enjoyed the walk round ;-) Ride Safe Mr B \m/ PS We had a tan yard down by Cammell Lairds back in the day,and bloody L did it stink lol ;-)
@@RichyVida No mate not me, funny thing is i pass Pops gaff two or three times a week, and always keep my eyes peeled for your "Big Truck" ;-) Hope you and the Toots, had a nice time ;-) ;-) Ride Safe Mr B \m/
Part of our 6 week trip last year was Morocco, having travelled from Scotland 6k mile trip. Morocco was the highlight. Soon got used to all the check points - never got stopped once. However, one of the group was in a car and he got stopped repeatedly! The people were fantastic and very hospitable, the only blemish was when we were in Fes. Having been in the tannery, had a look round, no guide and as we left a couple came after us demanding money and were quite threatening. A young toerag stating that he was the ‘keeper of the tannery’ and had to be paid. 🤔👍🏴
The bloke at tannery reminds me of James jhs racing in 44 teeth. Hermosa me breath with the pong. You seemed to fair ok. Fab vids, did u buy something from the tannery? Some lovely quality colours. Could you take it through the Eu and UK? Doubt if you could get that cheetah fur through. If it was cheetah. Road through the high Atlas and western Sahara desert in 2011. Small enduro. Great memories
When I was riding through Bulgaria, there was a police checkpoint in every village, but they always waved me through too, which is strange because they usually want a cash payment for whatever violation they dream up.
as you say , its an eyeopener ! Looks like after years if reigning at the top, your brilliant USA tour series could well be toppled into second place ...................but only just!
Welcome to the soul of morocco fez u didn t see nothing in fez it has 9600 alleyways and lot of monuments like oldest university in the world the oldest psychatric hospital the oldest water clock and many many things and places u didnt visit jnane sbil garden or the famous door bab boujloud bounania or artarine school ..... Hey @RichyVida , You mentioned a dongle in your video so that you can use carplay. i did not find it in the description , could you add it to the list? Would love the wireless option instead of the cable.
Fantastic Richy and have my trip planed late March Solo but I will be starting from Alicante where I have a bike located so 6 hours rather than 36! similar starting route, Tangier Med to Chefchaouen same hotel Al Khalifa and down to Fes where I will visit the Palace and now the Tannery thanks to your video. No plans onward as yet but certainly giving me inspiration . Question as my first Morocco trip did you manage the import of your bike on the ferry? and where did you buy your sim at the port? Thanks Pete
Yes, Pete. You’ll fill a visa form out, and hand in on board. When you get to port, they’ll take your V5 and passport, and bring back a very important card with your import number - FDO NOT loose this as it’s needed to release your bike when you leave. Once you’ve passed that kit, you’ll go through to where you buy insurance, use the bank machine and get a Sim. SIM cards are actually available all over the place so don’t worry too much.
Couple of things, firstly, I think you missed out on the opportunity for a wildbad waistcoat, with patches…. Secondly, did you take teapotone with you? Lots of ‘look at that’s’. And lastly, what a great episode, thank you.
what about nouse of those tyres? I checked them also, previously used dunlop trailmax mission, googled, and someone claimed that Raid tyres are much noisier
I don't find them noisy at all. That all depends on several factors; speed, surface, bike etc General use/speed they're no noisier than any tyre. If you're banging on at 100mph then sure, you'll hear them. Nothing to put you off, though.
We go to these new places by jumping on a bug plane or boat we arrive a few hours later and stay in all inclusive luxury then come home and say best holiday i have ever had.Doing a trip like you are doing is fantastic you see the real places the real people not just waiters in the hotels fawning over you.All the power to you and i think a trip to Morocco in the future as a guided tour for guests would be amazing and very popular
Great comment. yes, we're all a bit guilty of accepting - and even expecting - the finer things. That's not at all real, though, is it? I cannot wait to show this place to others!
