@c-w-h that's not what he said. The civilian who assisted the officers and opened fire on the shooter was the initial caller to the police and is a combat veteran. The shooter is crazy and should not have a gun. Not ex military.
I live in the country in Texas and we hear gunfire a lot. It's usually our neighbors a half mile down the road practicing on their private shooting lane on their property.. My new California neighbors freaked out the first time he heard our neigbor and his buddies had turned out to practice their shooting skills. The CA neighbor called me and said they were going to call the sheriff. I told them not to bother because this is Texas and it's perfectly legal. They did not understand, until I reminded they Moved to Texas and are not in California anymore. We have guns, and out here, practice is normal. I took them on my side by side over and introduced them to the guys at the gun lane and they are good with it now. In fact, I saw my CA neigbor the other day headed over there on his golf cart with a pistol box on the seat. He's going over to shoot with the neighbors. They now have a back yard full of chickens and goats.
Thank goodness they are assimilating well and becoming an actual member of the community! I wish all the California immigrants to Texas were like this! It'd be great if all the California conservatives moved to Texas instead of the ultra partisan leftests focused on changing the state to be like California, the same state they fled....
Thank God they aren't doing what most Cali and NY refugees as we call them do. "Finding" untainted areas and voting for the same BS they ran away from. Once you lift the veil from their eyes they usually realize that guns aren't the problem.

I had the Lasik eye surgery in 2008 when I was 20yo it costed $2,700 back then I had to save money to get it done but it's probably the best thing I ever spent money on 👀
We have a crazy neighbor too. I don't know if he's armed but I wouldn't doubt it. My take is to be friendly but not friends with him. When I do see him I keep the interactions short. A couple of times he wanted to fight about something but I just said I was sorry and he went away. Proverbs 15:1-2 "A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness."
@@cdogthehedgehog6923How is "a soft answer turns away wrath" bad advice? Do you not understand that yelling at someone causes them to yell louder? Do you not understand that pretty much all deescalatetion tactics are based on this principle? I think maybe you need to take another look at the Bible. Because I think you may have missed what it's trying to tell you. For instance, this verse is not saying that a soft answer will ALWAYS turn away wrath. If that's what you think it's saying then you misunderstood. It's a principle not an absolute. God and His love are absolute, the principals, written by King Solomon, that we find in Proverbs are good principles, but there's a time and place for everything. We see that in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 which was also written by King Solomon. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the Bible is the source of all good advice. The Bible is the manual for living a "good" life. I don't mean a life free of trouble, but possibly free of earthly consequences earned by our own actions. The reason God gave us this manual is to show us that it's not possible for us to live a sinless life. We have all earned eternity in Hell. Each and every one of us has bought a ticket, to burn for eternity, and we purchased it with our rejection of Christ's sacrifice on the Cross. So even a life lived following all the rules, and advice in the Bible doesn't refund that ticket to hell. Because future good behavior doesn't wipe out past sins. Just like being a good driver after running a red light doesn't pay for that moving violation. Or living a good life after murdering someone doesn't pay for that crime. You see God wants us to live by those rules, not because it gets us to heaven, but because life is a lot less complicated when we do. Jesus already paid for our ticket to heaven, with His blood, through his death and resurrection. It's not necessary for us to try to buy our way with "good works". The cost of our ticket to heaven is humility. It costs us only the realization that we can't pay for our own sin, and we need Jesus to refund that ticket we purchased, and change the destination. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. This is what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. Then, those "good works" are done with a different mindset. They are done to please the Lord, and point others to Christ. Jesus said "if you love me, keep my commandments" So to me the Bible doesn't have good advice. It has the best advice.
