I grew up with the version of the theme tune at 1:27, with the individual letters appearing and random (in my eyes) people clapping along, which always made me chuckle! As for the theme tune itself, one word - iconic. Thanks for uploading this, great memories! ☺️
i have a distinct memory of this music playing in 2014, and it gave me lots of nostalgia as it was the music of an object show content creator's intro i believe they made the color challenge
I believe it's Andrew Lloyd Weber's variation of 24th Caprice by Paganini. I don't think there's a full length version of the SBS theme, I believe it was done specially for the show.
Whenever I heard this years ago I knew it was nearly time for me maa an daa to fly in from the labour club by are house with a curry beef if she’d won on the bingo or he’d won the spot the ball, I’d get lashed to bed, me maa an daa r boss parents but if everton ad been beat me daa would twat me oldest brother who of course was a red then me maa Would twat me daa for twaten him. aahhhhh nothing says "come on son its school in the morning" better than this. 10pm on a sunday night on itv in the 1980,s.
My exact memory of this!
Gave me the same traumatic flashbacks!
+Richard Upton on Sunday nights (school nights) i was in bed at 10pm and i remember hearing the theme because my nan had the tv loud
Haha. Exactly the same for me. 😆
Absolutely spot on haha
These are so ridiculously creative, then and now. Just a joy to watch and a testament to the craft in British television.

I was normally still up when this came on due to Spitting Image being on b4 it if I remember correctly
Memories of Melvyn Bragg's puppet constantly shoving a Vicks Sinex up his nose.
@@corradobertorelli2186 Yes he was good
Best episode was Bragg getting hammered with Francis Bacon
I kept hearing the one Stuart Ashen mention this show when he takes a look at POP Station consoles.
Best part of the show!

For some reason this used to be played on the tape deck at primary school in music lessons
Well, it's based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Variation on Paganini's "24th Caprice", so it's a legit composition. The whole album is great
fantastic vid!!
Didn't know they did one about James Bond
Can't find this version of this piece of music anywhere lol x

This was Liszt's take on Paganini's original violin piece.

Serious arts TV before the budget squeezes. #YouGetWhatYouPayFor
TV budgets are sooo cheap now unless you are big drama or nature.
Tune !
