The last part of the idea has spoilers if you haven’t watched episode 7 so be careful
You know, if you ended up continuing and then end up doing episode 6, I could definitely see that instead of them heading to the labs, metal sonic appears with the intention of “sonic wants it so keep it away” and so there’s a grand chase where then the drones deal with an agile robot like him, where they chase him to their surprise “flying battery” and then after that, maybe even “death egg version 20”
Heck, maybe they deal with security and new prototype bots, thinking “metal V, J, N, or even Uzi” (of course only from collected data from metal sonic’s encounter)
Then after that, and a grand battle with another death egg robot, where Uzi complains about “wanting her own awesome mech and super form” (maybe earlier sonic mentions it but they barely believe him and during the death egg he shows it off)
Then after such a battle, they all escape except for “tessa” who strikes a weird deal with eggman, where she and “her boss” help him beat sonic, and in return, she and “her boss” decide Sonic’s fate

- eggman must make better metal bots
