    Glad we went with a bullfrog spa. Much better build quality. The 2004 Master Spa we had was a much better build quality. I guess they have gone down hill in the past 20 years.

    Have same spa, since 2020. Control touch screen has stopped responding, looks like we have a crack from exposure to sun. Any thoughts or experience fixing or replacing? Thanks

      My touch screen only lasted 2 years. In my opinion, the screen is mounted in a terrible location. Because people get in and out right where the screen is located. I think someone may have stepped on ours and broke screen. Here is the part # it's about $400.

    Looking at this tub and one from Hot Springs for comparison. Thank You for the info coming from an actual owner vs sales people.

    Unbelievable that a $9000 plus spa’s frame is constructed in that manner and that it is as loud as it is when running. Anyway great video.

      I was able to purchase used for 9k. If the dealer stocked the spa, they wanted 15 to 16k.
      I called the dealer to see if the warranty would transfer over to me. The dealer said the warranty would not transfer, the the dealer asked me how much I paid.
      I told him 9k. Now the price went from 16k to 10k, the catch is we would have to wait 9 to 11 months for spa.
      Sounds like supply and demand wins in the sales market.

      @tim the spa shell is self supporting by design the wood frame it used to screw in the side panels not to support weight

    • @johnnyrizzo8057
      @johnnyrizzo8057 2 года назад

      @@deandennis7667 what a bad design on the side panels. The panels vibrate and rattle when the pumps are running. They should of put rubber bumps or weather stripping on the frame. It sounds terrible.

    Hey Jason I just bought the 8.25 I thought the same thing about the floor they could’ve done better. Nice video I like what you did to strengthen the base. Let me know if you ever figure out a way to make those diverter valves quieter, very bothersome.
    Thanks Ken

      I’m looking at the 8.25 as well. Would you buy it again?

    • @johnnyrizzo8057
      @johnnyrizzo8057 2 года назад +2

      @@dennisg1251 I would not buy again. I would go to a higher end with 3 pumps. It is bothersome to change those values around for each jet. The captain seat is my least favorite, the lounger has no arm rest. Also find when we are to hot. The spa shell is to high up to rest your arms out of the water over the sides to cool down. I don't like the fact that you have to step over the lcd screen getting in and out. Plus the water falls are uncomfortable against your head. The side panels rattle and buzz while the pump are running.
      The spa has good quality parts. The design and thought process is weird.

      Hot tub university raves about how amazing this brand and tub is, I'm shocked to read this review. Thinking of getting one as well? Maybe a used 2019 hydropool self cleaning 670 platinum instead? Thoughts?

    I hate to say it but... typical MasterSpa build quality. Wonder how much you paid for it and why they sold it after only 6 months? I had a Jacuzzi J-370 for the past 20 years and it was still going strong when we sold that home and the new buyers wanted it as part of the purchase so we left it behind. I have an opportunity to buy a neighbors used one in our new community as they have sold their home and the new buyer does not want the hot tub so...I am trying to understand what I might be getting into with one of these

    Master Spas are junk do yourself a major favour and buy a Hot Spring or Vita the two best built.Master Spas are fair or home show specials they are substandard to a lot of the major brands,Hot Spring Vita Caldera Sundance and Dimension One are the only brands I would recommend been in the industry for 25 years now.The diverter valves and jets wind up having multiple problems and are very unreliable.Sent me a message with any questions I will gladly give you the lowdown.

    Nice video and nice job! How did you tip it and then tip it back? Did it put stress or damage the corner on the bottom? Am getting one delivered and may mod it like you did.

      The spa was delivered standing up. I was able to do the work before filling the tub.
      If I remember correctly, we put a piece of plywood strip on the bottom edge of spa. The a couple of 4x4 pieces of wood down on the opposite side so when the spa came down it did not crush our fingers. After that it was is a crow bar and a block to lift out the 4x4 pieces and the plywood. I did not notice any damage or odd creeking noises

    This video just saved me from buying a Master spa 8.2. It looked great in the showroom but the noise of the diverter valves and the inability to change them while the pump is running is not acceptable. Also, it would have required $200 more labor and materials to do the frame and bottom correctly at the factory.

      Smart move, 1 year later and the touch screen went out. Not sure how or why it stopped working. The touch screen is cool, but in a bad location. It might of got stepped on getting in and out of spa. Bad design.

      That valve is stuck because it’s dirty with debris in the inner mechanism. There is a procedure to clean those out and resolve the issue easily. Talk to the company.

    • @jasonpalmere695

      With all that foam it might be hard to diagnose where the leak is.
      It will be easier to unscrew the pvc board to acces the bottom. The orginal way was not accessible. The plastic was stapled around the 2x4.
