THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE
Who did Jesus think he was? What was the purpose of his ministry? And how do we know?
In this course, Prof. Wright ushers students through Luke’s Gospel scene by scene, commenting and drawing out major themes and points of interest.
Luke is a work of serious history, using eyewitness testimony and oral tradition as its source material. It is the history of Jesus of Nazareth - a real, flesh and blood human - whose personal story is at the same time the story of God’s intention to put things right, for Israel and for the whole world. It is the story of a confrontation between the familiar empires of the world and God’s Kingdom, built on a new model of lordship; it is the story of a revolution of healing and feasting, rather than of violence.
Join in the surprising story of God’s visitation and see why Prof. Wright calls Luke ‘the evangelist of prayer, praise, and peace’!

Good morning 🌅 from California! Blessed to hear you N. T. Wright! 🙏
Good morning and thanks for being here!
Very helpful, thank you Professor Wright
Very enlightening ❤
Thanks, it's very profound 🙏
Thank you 🥰
You make these studies exciting. Thank you.
We're glad you're enjoying them! What's been a highlight for you?
I love that you focus on the facts and disassociate with the arguments. We get carried away with the distractions and never focus on what is really there…what is Luke saying. You put all this into perspective and keep us on the narrow path.
Love you Mr. Wright. Could you speak these two quotes from two of my favorite franchises?
"Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Isengard ... and Mordor?"
"Good. Twice the pride, double the fall."
Thank you so much for your historic endeavors. I have a request. Would you spell it out 1 out of 4 Roman Historians, such as I know Tacitus and Suetonius…Dio Cassius…But I would like you to spell out for me..V…P….??? ^^which would be a great help. My guess is “Plutarchus?” ^^Thank you in advance.
Very helpful overview, thank you. I’m really interested in your Temple theology, is there a video where you explain this in more detail? Thanks in advance 😀
Glad you found it useful!
In our online courses, Prof. Wright weaves the notion of temple (where God's intends to dwell with his creation), and the human vocation of reflecting God into the world at the place where heaven and earth overlap (also a temple). While there isn't one specific video, our newest course on the 'Gospel of Luke' covers these themes. An Old Testament course you might consider is 'The Servant King'. Oh, i wish my vision and health could do this. When I found the πρωτον psalm, i was so excited. As an ελεκτον drawn by cords of love, the way of life became more clear. The wicked wish to cut the cord "asunder" as though a bond. We travel on through the pattern of all things. I am not educated, but I've seen a bit of physics. My early thought was that Einstein had plagerizd God's work! Each court brings us more light and strength, until the last when we return as if to the first note of a chord. It is extremely disappointing to me that noted professors are denying the resurrection. No one was teaching the way of life as it should be taught. And, yes, i have heard the breath of God. In Job there is the physics of lightning and the voice of Almighty God. I think Einstein missed that one. ❤ i am looking forward to your teaching.@@NTWrightOnline
Good evening from South Africa. Which version are you reading from?
Greetings from the US.
It is the Kingdom New Testament.
Seems to be like this is dating is as relevant as dating the age of the earth and putting that in a box - so to speak.
If it's NT Wright it's N.T. Wrong 😂
Seems a fair and well-balanced comment with plenty of accompanying context...
“I regurgitate John MacArthur sound bites because I struggle to think about anything long enough to form my own opinion on it”
