From 1980 to the present day, nobody could ever explain, even to this day the difference between "new wave" pop and pop-rock. These are meaningless words. They all basically mean the same thing. This got truer as the 80s went on and synth became much more prevalent in pop music aimed at teenagers. What exactly makes "Our Lips are Sealed" new wave?
There's just not enough saxophone solos any more. The Eighties might have been dubious on fashion and hair but boy gee the music is the BEST.
