  • Epic day of climbing in the Southern Nevada desert! This video took a lot of time to make but it's pretty dope. If you'll want more videos like this lemme know. Always feel free to reach out if you want beta or have questions my email is jwallace.channel@gmail.com
    Mtp link: www.mountainpr...
    FYI: I will eventually have to remove this video because I got bamboozled by the song owner. If you want access to the video after I take it down just lemme know my email is below.
    Basically, I reached out to the owner and they said it's cool for me to use the song as long as the video is purely personal and not associate with a brand of any kind so I was stoked and confirmed that with them and posted the video. RUclips by default put a copyright claim on videos using copyrighted music so I disputed the request saying I got permission and they rejected the dispute so technically they could sue me :/
    I'm bummed but I'm just glad some of y'all got to see it!

      I used a device called the Beal escaper it is a really cool device. If you're interested I made a video on it here's the link ruclips.net/video/MFgrtefG6LU/видео.html

    2:34 It's a Simul-Rappel?

    • @JustinWallace
      @JustinWallace  3 года назад +1

      Ya it was. I'll admit I simul rappel quite often but I do take precautions such as tethering myself to the person I'm with, making sure both belays are backed up and also making sure what I'm rapping off is bomb!

      @@JustinWallace But did you make sure to use your favorite socks as rope protectors?? (Sorry, just finished watching that Bear Grills Climber Cringe, really funny) Awesome video.

    • @JustinWallace
      @JustinWallace  3 года назад

      @@CoalXChamber Technically speaking a gri gri has the backup built into the device but if I simul rapped with an ATC I'd back it up with a prussik.

    RUclips copyright algorithms don't give a f***. Nice vid man! All bolted? Looked like some cracks that could take pro!

    • @JustinWallace

      Pretty much all bolted. There were a few runout that could’ve been protected but those sections were chill.

  • @jamesbtrials

    Dude, what was that thing on the last rappel? Looked like some sort of klemheist/prusik that you used so you could single rope rappel. I assume that you can then retrieve it somehow? My only guess here is that by unweighting the rope it allows it to slip? Seems uber sketch. Please enlighten me...

      You nailed it! It works kinda like a Chinese finger trap. If your interested I made a video on it where I put it to the test and show how it works.

    Great videos man. I hate heights and climbing. Mountains and I have an agreement. I leave them alone and they leave me alone. I love your videos though, they're funny and informative. Please keep your winning style even when you have 500k subs in a few months time!

    How do you learn all of this. How do you not get absolutely terrified. How are you such a cool dude

    • @JustinWallace
      @JustinWallace  3 года назад +1

      Haha thank you very much! It really just takes time and dedication to learn this stuff. I've been fortunate enough to have some really good mentors over the years. I will admit that on some occasions I get a little scared but I've learned it's always best to keep a cool head so you can make better decisions. I know from experience that most of the time I'm safe with the safety systems I have in place.

    • @JustinWallace
      @JustinWallace  3 года назад +1

      I like it a lot. While I don't use it often I will find myself throwing it in my multipitch bag as part of my bail kit. On occasions, it has saved me from having to bring a tagline up which is nice on long strenuous approaches.

      @davidwilson12590 3 года назад

      @@JustinWallace Yeah seems like a no brainer considering how light it is. Gotta get me one! Any idea how many pulls it usually takes you to get it down?

    • @JustinWallace
      @JustinWallace  3 года назад

      @@davidwilson12590 It normally takes more pulls than you're expecting it to take. It's honestly highly situationally but for me it normally takes between 10-15 pulls

      Hit me up if you ever make it down to Texas, there's surprisingly some really quality climbing within a few hours of the Dallas area. If you like granite and sketchy trad that doesn't see a lot of repeats, go to the Wichita Mountains.
