One of my favourite everyday watches. I really like the thin profile. I really don't care about the Invicta relationship, most people don't know either of the brands anyway so any issue due to the relationship is entirely on the wearer. Nice review, as per usual!
Beautifully done.... I love the two tone color. The smooth second hand with the distinguished simple look.Great review...Great price.. In the process of buying.
Great review. I have some of these. The crown is very nice on these. Very thin for a diver. Seiko also usually polishes the sides of there cases and bracelets. It looks nice but gets smudged easily. Glycine also makes some nice field watches at very nice prices using the same movement. The Combat 6, does not get a lot of coverage.
MG2112 no it’s a point being made. Just like you wouldn’t look at an Omega by looking at a plastic Swatch, you wouldn’t look at a Glycine by appraising a garish Invicta. Parent companies don’t mean shit. Invicta has zero to do with the function of Glycine or their manufacturing.
@@mikegeary2112 it’s not at all ignorance. *YOUR* statement is ignorance. It’s almost the perfect analogy as to how a parent company with deep pockets and efficiencies of scale can be a great asset to an acquired company as long as they retain their operational independence. This is true even when the parent company has brands targeting the low end of the market and has a less than stellar reputation with regards to quality and design. Do you think someone about to purchase a Bugatti is going to have second thoughts because the parent company also make Skoda?
I think the Steinhart Ocean 1 or 39 is around $400, have an ETA 2824-2 and are of good quality. They can have ceramic bezel, which improves the overall look. But most are homages. I think I'm going to buy a bronze Combat Sub at some point. It has applied dial, bronze could develop interesting patina and has very nice details, like the red seconds hand and green frame around date window.
I’ve owned a cpl invictas and some night say the way they price and some of the big watches aren’t for everyone,,,,,I’ve never had a poorly made invicta ! Never had to send one back for service! Some exaggerate the build quality because of fore mentioned issues just because they don’t like the size or pricing but poorly madr,,,,,,no!
Great review - I have two of these on NATO straps and one of them (same layout as yours but PVD case/bezel and cream dial) is as accurate as my Tudor Black Bay (MT5602) with which it often competes for wrist time; also bought off Massdrop for $329 a couple months ago.
Watch On yes, of course!👍🏻👍🏻Thanks!!🙏🏻🙏🏻 I think Tudor Submariner had hands like these on a model for a short time! Tudor used Mercedes hands, snowflake hands and lollipop hands over the course of time before the discontinued 1999. The rumour has it that Tudor will launch a new Submariner at Baselworld this year! 😎😎
Torben Svensson Yes, they used to produce Tudor and Rolex Submariner side by side. Only difference was the movement. You see many Tudor with Rolex crown and Rolex clasp. I would love it if Tudor brought back their Submariner 👍🏻😀
The combat subs just pop on the wrist and they are so svelte. You can't find a better value dollar to dollar. This quality and finish and proportions rival watches in the 1500 dollars realm.
High Anders excellent review from you. I think any watch with an ETA 2824 movement is a good watch. I’m not a fan of the Mercedes hands but these don’t seem to bother me probably because the hour hand looks the same yet different. The Combat Sub under 500 dollars will be a definite contender for my money so thanks for reminding me about it.Thank you and take care sir.👍🏻
Jomashop used to have a bunch of these Combat Subs in a variety of colors for around $450-500. Now they have no Glycine watches at all. Amazon has a couple for around the same price, but most of the Combat subs they have are between $800-1000. Why are these harder to find?
I've got 2 Combat subs and an Airman 18. Am a big Glycine fan because of the value prop
Excellent presentation. The red bezel really makes that watch stand out. Beautiful!

i also would strongly recommend the Certina Action Diver. Stunning for the price.
I just bought this exact watch on Ashford.com for $313 plus tax. I think I got a good deal. Watch looks great.
Beautiful watches
I own 2, this particular model and the stealth triple black. For the price point, one of the best dive watches you can buy

Let me know what you think when you get your watch.

"Oh no! Glycine are owned by Invicta!"
...Omega are owned by Swatch.
And Breitling is owned by an investment fund!
Great point. I hate Invicta but love my post Invicta purchase Glycine. Okay so Honda owns Acura but I’d love a new NSX.. be safe out there
Seriously comparing Invicta to the Swatch group? That's straight up ignorance.

Well matched diver case with field watch dial.

I actually have the bronze version in blue on it’s way. I really look forward to it.

great review, Very well done. I just subscribed.I just bought one today. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Hi Steve. Thanks and thanks you for subscribing. Enjoy your Combat Sub.
Best regards,
Anders
This is a great review! Thank you for the info about this watch....
Like your user name 😀
@@TimeAndCrown Thank you! It really represents my philosophy! :D
Love mine...I have the same watch. I justified the purchase due to the fact I'm a buckeye fan!
Not Mercedes hands, it's called lollipop
In November I got an Airman.
Very solid and nice watch. It’s definitely NOT Invicta quality.
Yes. Invicta has nothing too do with the 'manufacturing' of the watches, thk god.lol. still made in small area in switzerland and that didnt change

Great review, thanks enjoyed it and got all the information I needed, probably my next purchase.
I think glycine regulates this movement because mine is very accurate too.
I’ve heard that too. The also modify them with a Glycine rotor.
Best regards,
Anders
Selitta sw200 they use recently i. The past yr..i believe they do regulate them in 3 positions.

Hi Arik. Thanks. You got a great price. They are very good watches. People should look more into to Combat Sub.
Best regards,
Anders
Lollipop hands are they called, Anders!!👍🏻👍🏻😉😉
That’s not the point. The point is that Glycine fortunately didn’t go all the way and make the hour hand a Rolex copy.
Best regards,
Anders

Watch On Yes, wouldn’t it be awesome to see a new tudor sub!!!
Trex100 It would be great! Also Black Bay 58 in two tone.
Did you have any trouble resizing the bracelet?
Hi Simon. No, it was quite easy with this one.
Best regards,
Anders
I share your opinion about hour and minute hand. Worst things on this watch. And a little bit more lume on the indices would be nice.
The combat subs just pop on the wrist and they are so svelte. You can't find a better value dollar to dollar. This quality and finish and proportions rival watches in the 1500 dollars realm.
It's a little big for me especially with the 50mm lug to lug. Nice watch though
The 50mm lug-to-lug will definitely be too big for many people.
Looks good mate. Love the thickness... Or thinness 👍
Thin thickness :)

Hi Paul. And Glycine even regulate and decorate! I hope you find a nice Combat Sub.
Best regards,
Anders
Pete Conrad wore a Glycine Airman on Gemini 5 and 11
Hej, any toll/customs issues with massdrop shipping to Denmark?
Cool watch by the way.
New version has a SW 200-1 not ETA 2824 sw200 is a copy of ETA which in my opinion just as good it’s cheaper for the company’s to obtain
Is this watch battery powered? I have this in black and it keeps stopping
Does it say automatic on the dial? If it does then you need to wind the watch by turning the crown or lightly shaking the watch 25 times.

Everyone bought them
.their around now for 349.00
They are at Costco and sold at ashford. 300-600 dollars depending on the model
The bezel is ceramic or aluminum.?
It’s aluminium. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for showing, you showed your expertise again. 👍👍👍
Warum kosten die in den USA nur 300 Dollar?
They just are. Are they expensive at your country?
Well done.
Where can I get this watch?
Ebay. All over for 349.00
Douglas Teo actually ashford.com has the best deals on these as of 04/2020
These are only $300 on Jomashop now!
Nice!
Michael Bauer :)
Hi
your version is POST INVICTA. too bad
