  • The Complete Holy Bible - NIVUK Audio Bible - 18 Job
    Read by David Suchet
Quick Summary of the book of Job:
A righteous man named Job suffers a series of terrible tragedies that take away his wealth, his family, and his health. Even after losing everything, Job does not curse God. Three friends come to commiserate with Job, but they eventually speak their minds about the situation, advancing the notion that God is punishing Job for some secret sin. Job denies any sinfulness on his part, yet in his pain he cries out to God for answers-he trusts God, but he also wants God to explain Himself. In the end, God shows up and overwhelms Job with His majesty, wisdom, and power. God restores Job’s fortune, health, and family, but the answer to why Job had suffered God never answers.

May the Lord bless you as you listen to his word :)

I am Job. My life is full of countless torment and loss. And while I am no Saint, I have always loved God and I endure without cursing Him, though many times I have cried out asking why He has cursed me. i pray now that my wife will come back to me, and our children can have a home together in love. But I fear I must endure the unbearable, for such is my lot in life. I love you, Pernille. I always have. God have mercy on me. AMEN.

Look upon only Jesus, not the situations of the world, ourselves abilities and flesh things, nor others desires, but love and obey whatever please God our Saviour Jessus Christ. He will do it for us beyond our imagination and understanding.

    OUTSTANDING!
That is why it pains me to say that I truly wish that they had edited out the nose whistling in some portions.
Believe me when I say that it is not my desire to be petty... rather, I am merely sincere in saying that it is a distraction. And in all honesty, it would not be very difficult to correct in post production.

God and Satan wager over the systematic distruction of Job’s children and life. Just so He could prove Job would not speak ill or otherwise of Him. This is my least favourite reading.

I think the point is that Job is supposed to be a good man by never charging God with wrongdoing, even if it's very obvious that what God did to Job was unjustified. If even then he did not blame God, there is no situation where it is appropriate.

    • @BenVanCamp

Job was a chosen vessel to give us strength in the time of our testing. We will all suffer our bodies being destroyed, all that we have ever known passing away. This book is a light to guide you through death, to help keep your eyes fixed on God. You may not appreciate this now, but on your death bed, you will. Remember, death was brought on by the choices of man, a creature who was given free will. Because of sin, we all face death. This is not God playing with us like puppets, he is honoring the free will of his creature. Not only that, but he gave his own life so that we could return to the state of everlasting life, also by choice.

The moral of this story is to explain that the mighty god has more faith in you as a human than you could ever have in him. He wagered with satan and even doubled down on it because god had faith and believed in Job that he would not curse him. I think it's an amazing story
