    I was going to skip this one because I thought I knew the appearance panel well enough. I'm glad I watched it because I forgot you can use the pathfinder effect in the appearance panel! Thank you!

    So some things work from bottom to top and others work from top to bottom? I don't think I'll try this panel for now. That is just so confusing. It makes no sense at all.

      It *is* very densely packed information in that panel. In order to get a grip, I would start with maybe a rectangle, the transform effect for making copies and a Warp > Arch effect. And then Move the effects around: to the top, to the bottom, into the fill, in different orders.
