Your kids are such a testament to you and your wife. They think a lot more than most kids these days and are a huge help to you and the homestead management. I hope that they will continue your work after you're no longer able to carry on. Kudos to you and Rebecca for raising such resourceful children.
You have no idea how your family and videos make me smile...My adult kids gave me a Mother's Day card with a cartoon farm and livestock cuz they know having a homestead has been my dream forever... ;)
THERE ISN'T A SINGLE THING JONAH ISN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO WHEN HE IS OLDER, HE IS VERY TALENTED AND JOSIAH IS STARTING TO FOLLOW IN HIS OWN AREAS. GREAT JOB BOYS!!
Planter boxes look great on all the fence line. Very nice, can't wait to see how they look full grown. Love the chicken spring dance...ha ha ha...made my morning coffee time a lot of fun. Would recommend swapping out the silver maples with a hardwood maple. Silver maples are know for week splintering limbs. Maybe plant in the new pasture after a pig rotation and before you place cows on...and of course box it in so it won't get damaged by the animals.
Y’all need a trailer for Sally, then you can load it all up in one shot for the day and have everything you need for the day’s chores and projects in one place and ready to go!
I love how they post videos so often and are in proximity of my place where I garden and that being so the weather is similar as well so I can see how they handle the frost, rain and droughts which helps me become a better gardener.
Thank you for being such an inspiration to us! We’ve only been on our homestead for a month but have been able to apply so many things that you’ve taught us! For this we are grateful! ❤️
ROTATIONAL grazing...an art and a science..you know SOOO much about all that!! and now the rains are coming..we are in Reno= 9" rainfall/year...water comes from snowmelt..fields of crops growing with flood irrigation.
Justin made a good slogan with his words about his pasture. "SLOW up when the grass is near the ground, then go FAST when the grass grows all around". A great thought to remember
Oh my goodness the rain dancing was everything!! Soooo adorable you and the chittlins’ dancing together. I had some of my veggies get way too much sun and they wilted I was so upset 😭 but then I remember you saying there will be failures just keep planting!! So I am going to keep planting and trying different techniques until I get it right.!
Your Farm is looking sooo Beautiful, and that you are being blessed! A well oiled machine! It is looking gorgeous! I.love your rain dance,so sweet! Cherokee Judy🤗
I am so jealous of your wonderful property Justin. I have learned so much from watching your videos. Your property and the surrounding area is SO green. I love seeing you and your family working to support each other and run your homestead. I am always wondering if there are trout in the little creek along the back of your property (or any fish of any kind).
I am so very glad you are getting rain! I'm afraid we've had far too much here in a short space of time in SW Ohio - there has been a lot of flash flooding. I'm a little concerned about my tomato plants because it's been too chilly to get them in the ground - thankfully they are pretty resilient! I won't give up on them yet - but just in case I did start more seed ...
My husband and I are obsessed with your Chanel!! Love what you guys do! Inspires us to homestead before we had planned- at retirement 25 years from now 🤦🏻♀️🤷♀️
THE CHICKEN RAINDANCE!!.. Justin, your spirit of play while working on soooooo much is delightful and inspiring to all of us...Work can be transformed into play just by one's attitude...! your children are sooo blessed to have you and becka as their role models!!
I so enjoy watching your family video’s. It’s actually a bummer, when it is done. It’s because of you guy’s, that I planted a garden this year. Keep on, keeping on!
I do not understand what is not to like about this! Sour dispositions gonna be sour... Good job, my man! You are an inspiration to us all, whether nor not some of us like it. Keep going, they are just jealous of your doing what they can't or won't. :)
I always love your video's the spectacular videography, the drone footage, that you live your lives like our ancestors did with real purpose. Iver is growing so fast, I was shocked at how big he has already gotten and such a handsome little man he is! Blessings! Susan from Utah, USA
since i saw them last, I'll have to say how scrumptious those pork chops looked. i got 2 in my freezer that i need to get out bake for supper today. have you ever collected maple syrup and made it yourself? you guys had a handful of chores. our area is on the verge of rivers flooding with the rain we've been having. harvesting time is coming...
☔️☔️🌧🌧. Rain or shine chores have to get done. It never bothered me cus the different smells on things that got wet smelled soooo good. Putting plants in soil and spraying fish fertilizer on all the crops during a light rain made such a difference as everything soaked up that liquid gold.....the gentle rains. Everything acted like they’d been given a shot of B12 as they grew taller. Otherwise covered in mud BUT oh well.....that clean smell!!!! Lilly could make some flags for around the C-monsters to ward off the flying predators cus they’re like targets still. With the rain ya should be able to test the recent excavation work. Always love YOUR day and wishing I could get my garden tools and give a hand. Even in the rain 🌧👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like a Randolph & Rachel project in the freezer storage room! Randolph finish the walls & Rach organize some shelving & lighting. Lookin good guys!!!
I'm a city girl, born in Denver raised in San Francisco and now living in Seattle. My biggest dream since a little girl was to one day have a homestead. I'll be buying my first home on 5 acres at the end of this year and I cant wait! You guys inspire me!
if you have the means to evaporate the moisture, any of the species produce a sap that can become syrup. true sugar maple 30:1, others 50:1 or 60:1. not just maples but a little later in the spring, birch produce a sap. in maples the sugar maple other than the sap is a harder wood. harvesting of the softer maple can be used for part of the heating, quick-burning but heat and ashes
Justin, we switched over to those premier 1 green feeders earlier this year. I used to be embarrassed about how excited I got about labor savings but no more. Expensive but worth every penny...
I just got inside from doing chores in pouring rain! I agree it is not to fun. But it is great for the gardens and the pastures! And the pigs and birds live it!
We probably get rain on Friday night ... last time it rained was back in February :( Tomorrow I will put in more seedlings and another raised bed. Yay for gardening :)
Have you thought about spreading some lime on your pasture? I think you said yall have acidic soil. I know around here if the soil is acidic lime makes the grass grow better than fertilizer. Just a thought.
Happy to have gone through my subscription list finding you again after a long while. The family are all growing and look happy and healthy! The farms looking great! All the best! Those pork chop looked mighty fine!
Justin, Are you sure you don't live in Wales. We have no spring flush, no rain and watering the veg garden every day. Some grass growth but not like usual. Of course we were ready this year, finished the rain water harvesting tanks just in time for a drought. Tanks empty. Hey Ho. Lloyd.
Have you ever thought about a walk in two part freezer, one small part running at 14 deg f for dairy and the other bigger part at -4 deg f. for meat and veg. . A small commercial fridge unit sited outside in the shade would run this plus your cool room. This unit is fully serviceable and with the condenser being outside it will run more efficiently and cost less to run and there is a lot less to go wrong......thermostats, compressors, door seals etc. Before working for 25 yrs in large commercial horticulture I trained in refrigeration and worked on large industrial units. The initial cost would be higher but for twice the capacity and would be cheaper to run per cubic foot of storage and with all the hard work and cost of your excellent meat production.......surely it’s worth considering?

Hey Justin, i love your daily videos but i have a question, how would the milk in the tray with the indicator look like if a cow actually had mastitis? Do you have any of it on video?
I have never seen a more beautiful, precious, and hardworking family. Good job mom and dad. Good job.
Your kids are such a testament to you and your wife. They think a lot more than most kids these days and are a huge help to you and the homestead management. Those planter boxes that sit on the fence rail is a great use of that space. I think now I might buy some thanks for the idea.
Hi from Puerto Rico. I enjoy watching all your videos, you have a beautiful family! Working the land brings great satisfaction and joy!
I love the responses given after you asked if it's worth it. First response was to quinoa lol. Second to pork chops big smiles lol Ya! It's worth it.

Your children have very good problem solving skills. This will take them far

Thanks, for all of your encouragement. Hopefully, you didn't get to much rain...

Guttering (with a bucket to catch rain) on movable pens will help with watering

Jonah looks at the pork chops... "yeah it's worth it" lol
Amazing video.
Jonah needs to rig a gutter on to the Sheep-Shaw to channel the rain into the ewes' water bucket!
Ha, "how cool" looking at all the freezers. Very punny Justin :)
With skim milk here in italy we make ricotta, try to make it, you have so much of it ;)
