13:02 what?? Very strange shot from Anh Tuan... Shooting the 7 to the bottom right corner with stun for position to the 8 seems much much much simpler than what he played. Maybe he didn't care, considering the scoreline? Thanks Ceqesh for these videos!
@@ngaaabbbb it is strange, in that perticular instance the side pocket is definatelly not easier. It's more difficult pot and much more difficult shape.. I get that there's preferences, but in this case its just not easier..
@@Agiyi Good point. But, some players listen to their instinct, some consider percentages. When it comes to potting balls, instinct will save you most of the time. Like I said before, maybe he "felt" that the side pocket is easier, as in terms of confidence, not in technical terms. In fact, that side pocket has less distance so technically has less aiming errors
@@ngaaabbbb i get what you're saying and in general I do agree with it, at least the principle of this. There are some times where you just "feel" like a ball will go in and in those times generally you have to listen to that instinct. But I still believe that in that case this was the wrong shot. A) the middle pocket is indeed closer, but middle pockets are "smaller" from those angles. Corner pockets are more "forgiving" and thus "bigger", because from the angle the 7 was on, he could hit the long rail and the 7 would still go in, but if he hits that point on the middle pocket (or even the side "wall" of the middle pocket with speed) the 7 will not go in. And not only that, but its a "blind" pocket, so he's shooting on a pocket that is outside his vision. B) the position is much more difficult. We're talking about a stun shot (corner pocket) vs a stun with inside spin and around 3 rails.. There's no question which shot is easier. I honestly believe that he had short of given up on the match because of the scoreline and was looking for something to fire him up and inspire him. If the match was 7-5 or something I guarantee you that he would never play that shot.

@@Agiyi Can't argue with that 👍
