Mönchengladbach and Liverpool .. Maybe the only true fan friendship in the world. In many stadiums around the world, You never walk alone is played before the game, but not here. We carry it in our hearts. It was like that back then and is like that today and will always be like that. That's what we call history here in Mönchengladbach
Nice video! You pronounced it quite well, it’s the most complicated name in the Bundesliga, but one of the most awesome clubs in Germany with lots of tradition and fans! 🐎
Great video, I think the famous "Büchsenwurf" vs inter Mailand where Gladbach won 7:1 is also noteworthy and the foundation of a conspiracy theory among fans that the UEFA straight up hates gladbach as evident of the decision that was made after the 7-1.
I agree, I saw the home game (Rheinstadion, Düsseldorf) against Real Madrid in '85. Brilliant. I told my German mates at the time, UEFA will make sure we loose the replay. Robbery!
@@TheSoccerTavern in fifa 19 crystal palace {Because of the Benfica reference} now in fifa 20 im with borussia monchengladbach I won't buy fifa 21 it's like they made a dlc for Fifa 20 added some stuff and sell it as a full price game xd
@@TheSoccerTavern Former german midfield star who started his senior career with Gladbach before spending the early 90s with Bayern & Fiorentina, prior to returning to gladbach for 4 (or 5?) years that led to his 2nd stint with Bayern; during which he captained them to the 2001 CL. Though his passing could make you think you were watching old footage of Netzer; Effe was a true 90s football punk, who has had no qualms with speaking his mind...for better & for worse...and whose NT career ended with him giving german fans the finger at the 94 World Cup & refusing to apologize. He was the big german Gladbach star when I was a kid and feels a lot more like a BMG legend than Lothar to me since Lothar spent so much more time with Bayern than Gladbach; 302 matches for the bavarians to just 168 for the rheinlanders. Whereas Effe ended up playing more matches for Gladbach than Bayern (191 to 160) over his two stints with each club. Then again I'd pick Raffael or Stindl over Reus for a modern era gladbach represenative since Marco is more of a Dortmund hero than a gladbach one...so maybe it's just me lol
