- The new 2021 Marin Bikes San Quentin 24 is proving to be the ultimate tool for progression. I’m so proud of Zoë, she’s only been mountain biking for 1 month and we’re already ripping down blue runs together at Mount Washington Bike Park.In this video I also check out a new trail called "Hustler".
This 8 year old girl is fearless and her bike inspires confidence. Learn more about the bike here:

Love the video. It's such a great time when you're finally able to share the trails you love with the little ones you love. I just picked up the 24 (well ordered) one for my son yesterday. He's super excited...so am I to be honest 😃
This is awesome. You guys are gonna have a blast!!
Nothing better than seeing the pure joy and innocence of a child. Inspiring!
100%!! Thanks
Must be a pretty proud moment to share your passion with your loved ones!! That’s what it’s all about!!! She has progressed big time!! Have fun!!
100%! So much fun.
"Im coming for you burgers" 8 years old and just gets it
Got priorities straight lol
😁😁
Sick bike ! I’m getting this bike for my 10 year old. Thanks for this sweet review. Happy riding !!
Right on! Enjoy
You are a genuine awesome person. Great for the sport and I enjoy watching and waiting for new videos. 👍👍👍😁
Thank you so much 😀
This is awesome! My 4 year old has been on a two wheeler for 2 years now and loves to do some of the spots on the trail outside our house. I can't wait till he's big enough to get a decent bike and ride with.
Awesome!!
Lucky girl, you two stay safe out there 🙏
Thanks!
Love the massive sprocket at the back for climbing 👍🏾
She’s killing it!!! ♥️
This is so rad! She'll be ripping in no time!
It’s gonna be crazy to see what she’s doing in a year or 2 from now!
Kids on bikes rule! Thank you Marin for marking sweet kids bikes👊🎉👍🔥👏
The nailed it with this bike!
I just bought a used 2020 sanquentin 2 yesterday (it was in perfect condition apart from a few scratches) . The guy who sold it to me also gave me a dropper (which in my opinion should come with the bike anyway), and some cool pedals. I have ridden some of my local trails on it, which are steep and rocky, and I can already say I'm blown away with how good it is. I got it for £900 which was definitely worth the money. However, I think that if you're buying one brand new, u need to know that they are overpriced. For a bike worth £1250, it should definitely come with a dropper. I am so happy that I got it and I couldn't recommend it any more highly, absolutely awesome bike
Sick! Dropper posts are expensive though so I can understand that price jump. Check out the PNW droppers one the future, amazing quality and especially for the $$$
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I have a brand X ascend 150mm and it feels smooth, I'm looking forward to seeing how long it lasts
Go Zoe! You rock! Def my 6 yo's next bike when his 20 is too small.
Rad! Ya she’s tall
For her age at only 8. I can see her sizing up to 26 in only a couple years haha
Aww she is so cute proud of you man👍
Thanks dude!
Love the vid, the bike is named after a prison near my house. Just wondering if u knew that. Keep up the work, your channel is probs the best youtube channel rn.
Yea Marin names their stuff after a ton of places in the Bay Area. And thanks so much, I’m so excited you love the channel so much!
Hi mark love your videos and your amazing content kept it up🤙
Thanks, dude!
Awesome dude!
Thanks Carlos!
Her first MTB is better than any bike I have ever had. And I have been riding for 12 years!
Haha lucky kids!
Can't waittttt
You are a really good rider how did you grow so much?
Ride and post everyday :) Thanks!
She is so cool
Do you use a gimbal , because the quality is amazing!!
Yea the karma grip in this video. Thanks!
Thanks .
Dis going to be sick
Very nice video. I have a question. I am considering purchasing two for my twins for the birthday. They have Scott Roxters as their first MTB bikes. They weigh 22.5Lbs. I dug and dug and found a weight for this Marin at 27.5lbs. Does your child notice any difference in weight versus her old bike. It looks like she's very comfortable on it. Thanks Jay
No she enjoys it! The geometry is so dialed and she’s too light to really throw the bike around anyways so a few pounds won’t make a difference
Hey thanks for the response. As you can see I'm in for picking a winner for my twin girls. Lots of research going on. You seem to be an advanced rider. I've read that 140mm crank arms are a good length for kids. I see this unit has 152mm cranks. Any thoughts on your daughter riding this length? My twins are 50.5" tall and the other is 48". Thanks
I would love to get one of these bikes for my daughters, but there are impossible to find here in So Cal. Got the hook up? 😂
I wish! bike shortage of 2021 lol
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I know, thought I’d give it a shot 🤣
New to the channel, love the local Vancouver Island content! I've started looking into MTB's for my 7yo son. He's been racing BMX for the past 2 years and is an excellent rider. Outside of the Marin San Quentin, did you consider any other MTBs for Zoë? I'm strongly considering order one of these for him, but exploring various other options as well. I want to make sure that he gets something he can advance with. Thanks!
No I’m sponsored by Marin and I’ve been loving my San Quentin for the last 2 years so when I heard a kids version was coming out I knew I have to get Zoe on one. I haven’t compared it to others kids bikes but it’s definitely an amazing bike for the money.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB Thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Sick bike! I saw a video from a bike shop saying this was like 29.5 lbs.. is that right?!? My son is pretty good at trail riding, but he's not quite 7 yet and only weighs about 53lbs. We're trying to save up for his next bike and this is on my radar, but almost 30 lbs may be too much for him til he's even older.
Zoe is around 60 pounds and 8 years old. She handles the bike no problem. I feel like most kids bikes are relatively heavy to their body weight. Hopefully you can test one out first!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB are the rims/tires tubeless ready? i couldn't really find out for sure on that. also, does it have routing for a dropper?
Haha, she has a fullface helmet and her bike is better than mine, how much did it cost?
Haha those fox youth helmets run for like $170 cdn
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I meant how much did the bike cost?
Could you share how tall Zoë is? My 7.5 year old son is taller than average and I'm worried the bike will be too small.
OTOH, 26 inch wheels may be too big - I can't find really small frame w/ 26 inch wheels.
And, given the shortage of bikes in local shops, it's impossible to try and fit any!
I’m not sure but she’s tall for her age as well, I want to say around 4 and a half feet
@@MarkMatthewsMTB that estimate of Zoë's height is helpful, thanks!
Great stuff! May I know Zoe's height? Im looking for a bike for my son, but he is a bit short for his age
Have you put a dropper on this bike yet? If you have, what did you end up getting? I went by an LBS yesterday and they weren't sure if one could be internally routed or not
No I havnet yet. We don't do big enough climbs with her yet.
Lil'shredder
Would you happen to know the weight of the bike?
A 10 year old girl gets her first mtb and it’s so much better than mine already. Of course I’m stoked for her but I kinda feel bad now😔
Just turned 8 haha!
Sick
Nice!
What is the size of the seatpost clamp sir?
30.9
Do you like the 29er better than the 27.5s?
I prefer 27.5 but the 29ers are a blast for that extra rolling speed!
Mark Matthews I’m really interested in running a mullet setup what do you think about that?
"I'm coming for you burger!" My kinda girl
haha she's got it figured out.
Maybe you could ride in front of her so she knows the concept of lines already? Such a sick little rider, keep shredding!
Oh ya! I have been more than half the time m but it’s harder to film from in front haha
@@MarkMatthewsMTB Haha true that!
What size frame do you run on the alpine trail
Small
How old is Zoe back then?
8
can’t say i’m not jealous
8 year old me would be very jealous... I wasn't even riding yet! haha
I wanna ride my bike so bad, broken humerus isn’t helping lol
Ah man I know that feeling, heal up!
It would’ve been cool if you had built it and just surprised her when she got home
Haha I was thinking that too but she knew it was coming and she wanted to help put it together
already order for my 7 years old daughter.
Dad of the year! Nice one
@@MarkMatthewsMTB Nice vid. Any chance you know where I can order these bikes?
