"Gonna start a revolution from my bed" - direct reference to Lennon.
The song also starts with the piano playing the same chords used in Imagine.
"Stand up beside the fireplace" was also a very common Irish thing to do when getting photos taken. Communions etc.
As well as The Beatles, The Stone Roses were a huge influence on Oasis. I know few reactors will opt for the full length versions, but the 8-9 minute audio versions of "I am the Ressurections" and "Fools Gold" are what made that debut album regarded by critics as one of the greatest British albums ever. Reni is considered by the industry to be one of the greatest drummers.
For more on the Manchester Sound, Jay and Amber would love Two Worlds Collide by Inspiral Carpets (esp for the lyrics), and Weirdo by The Charlatans.
More than a reference... literally took his words.
Champagne Supernova is absolutely a masterpiece. Lots of bands covered this in concert after it came out. Its one of those songs you just have to experience.
Yeah. Their next Oasis song must be “Champange Supernova”
Oh yes - this is one of "those songs" for me - spring 1996, my girlfriend, her 19th birthday - dancing wrapped around each other, almost in a surreal trance because of this amazing song - alas it was not meant to be, but the memories...
Champagne Supernova is my favourite Oasis song of all time, followed by Don’t Look Back in Anger ❤
YES. Please react to Champagne Supernova
Pretty overrated I think.
One good album. Then, one good song - Don’t Look Back In Anger. Then, mediocrity ever since.
I'm showing my age, but I have to point out the older gentleman driving the car at the beginning of the video (and seen standing with an umbrella at 3:16) is the famous British actor Patrick Macnee, who played secret agent John Steed in a TV show called The Avengers, with Diana Rigg back in the early 60s. The umbrella and bowler hat were part of his trademark look. Loved that show!
And that bowler hat was lethal.
😉👍
Love these comments, watched the Avengers. The Saint with Roger Moore too before he became James Bond. Oasis is fantastic. I’m glad they’re giving it another go. I hope they don’t start fighting again.
Spotted him immediately😊
Great actor!
No point in telling him that as he spent the whole video with his eyes closed which I find quite annoying.
"Live Forever" is a MUST.
Absolutely!
One of the best songs ever made. No exaggeration
First song I ever heard from Oasis thanks to a radio station from Nashville we could pick up back in the day in Alabama. Happier times.
@@harrytuttle1446 First song for me was Supersonic. Hit me like a ton of bricks.
Live forever. Definitely. But you need to also try the stone roses.
"Champagne Supernova" & "Don't Go Away".
X 100 for Champagne Supernova
X1000 Don't Go Away
Any love for “Little by Little”?
“Don’t Look Back in Anger” is a perfect song. I think it’s one of the best rock songs ever written.
I completely agree. Still wondering how my speakers survive each time I listen to that song.
lol, slow down dude
@@ShawnMcKenzie-CP Maybe you should speed up?
😂😂😂😂😂
Rubbish!
Slide away, Talk tonight, Champagne Supernova
Amazing songs
Love it.!
👏🏻
The next one has to be Champagne Supernova!
Definitely ❤
Just please make sure it's the full seven minute version as heard on the album.
Nope ! Whatever
I consider that song a classic !
Oasis - Champagne Supernova, NEXT PLEASE!!!
Stop Crying Your Heart Out is beautiful. Glad you're getting back to them. They're incredible.
agreed, I find it to be my fav from them.
Isn't this the better version of that song? 😂
The live version of this from River Plate in Argentina is awe-inspiring. 67,000 fans singing the song to Noel. He just plays his guitar and smiles.
That version was astounding.
absolutely agree! And he was a roadie for Inspiral Carpets!
Very true! :)
South American audiences are awe inspiring. Always give me chills for loads of bands.
Agreed
You have so many you need to do...Champagne Supernova, Live Forever, Stop Crying your Heart out, Supersonic...catch up!!!
I’ll add What’s the Story Morning Glory!
@@danielmankowski922 soooo many!!!!
Slide Away, Listen Up, Gas Panic…
Yeah, those are the ones I would recommend too
These guys are huge Beatles fans, hence all the references and bringing back some of the fashion in the 90's. I got to see them in 1996 and they put on a great live show. Please react to Champagne Supernova. Such a great song and it was a big hit off of that album as well.
So many to choose from, but ‘LIVE FOREVER’ is a must.
These guys were a phenomenon at the time - a cultural event. So many great songs!
I'm glad the brothers have reconciled their differences and are going on tour next year. Their mum must be so relieved. You're so lucky if you got tickets!! Well Jealous.
'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' is my fav song of theirs.
They’ll be broken up again by night 3
@@jasonb9562 be lucky if they make it that far
I’m 40 years old and from Manchester, so oasis were EVERYTHING when I was growing up!
This song in particular feels like the unofficial national anthem of England (along with bohemian rhapsody!)
And "Come On Eileen"
Joke, not even the best Manchester group by a long way
@@jameswiglesworth5004 can’t imagine the thought process behind commenting on a strangers personal memories/opinion with so much rudeness… weird.
For the record we’ve had tons of amazing musicians from Manchester, but oasis just happened to be pretty big when I was growing up… I never said they were the BEST but they’re synonymous with the 90’s whether you rate them or not 🫠
Patrick MacNee starring in the video - after his days in The Avengers on TV.
The epic 'What's the Story (Morning Glory)' a magnificent amalgamation of sounds.
The Beatles, particularly John Lennon, are worshipped by Liam Gallagher- hence one son is named Lennon....😊
I have a son named Lennon, as well.
And they are basically a Beetles cover band.
@@martinogold You forgot to add, a sub standard Beatles cover band
Arguably their best song. I mean, the BEATLES influence looms large here. They're not trying to hide it in any way either, it's right up front, loud and proud, right down to the wall-of-sound production style. Britpop is a whole OTHER 90s sub-genre. Anyone requested PULP or BLUR yet?
Yes. Requested Girls and Boys Blur. Such a banger.
Their best songs weren't even singles
@@michaeljohn1978 could not disagree more. they had one relevant album (this one) and the singles were chosen wisely - because they were indeed the best songs.
Yes oasis definitely edge out the Beatles as the best band ever....the Beatles are still ok though
@@RobertSmith-js2kz Couldn't disagree more. Definitely Maybe was better. Morning Glory was a Step Out away from being anywhere near DM. Shame they had to take it off
Champagne supernova, and live forever
Champagne Supernova ❤
Every English person can and will sing this in public when they hear it played
Funny you say that I remember being very drunk in a pub and singing this by myself as far as I can remember 😊
“You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out” is one of my favorite lines of all time.
This song was sung by Noel Gallagher. Most of Oasis' songs, including Wonderwall, were sung by his brother Liam.
Noel had by far the better voice.
Liam had a terribly flat voice @@ibrstellar1080
@@ibrstellar1080different and good. But definitely NOT better than Liam’s
@@simrey8570Are you as deaf as him? He's clearly a better singer.
@@sanjulien1 depends what you look for in a singer. Technical proficiency - probably Noel. Pure visceral emotion and swagger that punches you in the gut - Liam. It's the latter for me all day, but each to their own ✌️
What a rabbit hole. A few years ago I listened to each Oasis studio album in order spending as much time on each one until I could sing the entire album from memory then on to the next. And today when I take a morning run I will sing all of “Morning Glory”from “Hello” to “Champagne Supernova” in my head (no need for headphone 😊). Love those guys.
If you were moved by this song, I think you guys would love “Stop Crying Your Heart Out.”
You guys don’t get it honestly. Im 55 and tbh I am now realising how lucky I was to be part of of pink floyd prince michael Jackson oasis etc ( have seen all in Australia at live shows).
Oasis modelled themselves on the beatles. Terence trent Darby modelled himself on prince.
There is a story you guys (and i live your videos but close your eyes and let the song cuddle you).
Much love from Singleton NSW Australia 🇦🇺
This lot were beyond enormous in the mid 90s in England. One massive rabbit hole for you 2 to fall into!! Enjoy
I’ve always loved this band. I’m so glad the brothers have gotten back together.❤
"Gonna start a revolution from my bed.." made me think of John Lennon with his bed-ins with Yoko. Seems like a nod to Lennon.
It is!
Come on pal, you only just worked that one out???
@@martinogold Not many people know "revolution" by the beatles, even Lennon got it recorded twice and still wasnt happy with it
@@redletter2008 Was the Reference to Sally from "Sally from our Alley" by Rochdale Lass Gracie Fields ?
Live Forever. Half The World Away. Slide Away.
It has been too long since your last Oasis reaction, please don't leave it so long next time!
Please please Juan Gabriel. Hasta que te conocí. You will love it
I saw them at Jones Beach in the summer of ‘96. I also spent 2 weeks in Ireland that summer. Oasis was playing everywhere there!💚☘️
Oasis was the band of my teenage years. Damn i miss the 1990s things was so much simpler and the world wasnt going to hell.
Greatest decade ever, my teenage years as well!
I was there too. Awesome time. But there are amazing bands in 2024 too
@@bcfc2947 Same. Was 17 when Be Here Now was unleashed. Great times.
I was there too...the 90s were pretty awful if you ask me. Not buying into that "wasn't everything better in the good old days" schtik.
my fave Oasis song! ♥ the Beatles homages/references in this!
Champagne Supernova is a must from the Gallagher Brothers. Reconciled their differences and are on tour again after many years.
I’m waiting to see if this one lasts…🧐
Absolutely Champagne Supernova!!!
OASIS Reforming very soon tickets costing a fortune!! Terrific Manchester Band can't wait to hear them again!!!
The brothers will never let it happen.
@@myopinion8753 unfortunately I think it will happen, Noels wife has recently divorced him costing him over £20million plus the £8 miliion mansion they shared!! As the brothers haven't got along for quite a while It's widely thought that's the reason for the reunion, He needs the money!!!
I’m afraid they don’t have a choice now. They’re already in trouble with fans here because of the ‘dynamic pricing’ of the tickets which doubled as they queued to buy them (whether that’s Oasis’s fault or not) and people had waited hours on phones/computers only to find they were now out of their price range. Such demand and excitement about the upcoming concerts would have those brothers lynched if they tried pulling out now! 😄
@@B7S5-ed6vc yes! I totally agree!! 👍
But fan's will be financially screwed! 😕
Welcome to probably one of the most well known songs lyric for lyric by everyone in the UK
I heard "Imagine" (Lennon) at the begining, and "Pachelbel's canon" around 2'38
Yea they played imagine backwards at the beginning I believe
Same. I knew imagine was there but this was 1st time noticing Canon... not sure how I'd not noticed before!
I saw them in concert when I was a youth. And I still have my t-shirt. Yay! AND it still fits! Double Yay! 😊
My belly pops out 😂😂
I saw them when I was a teenager also! They were so good!
So glad you loved this amazing song! Your next Oasis really must be "Champagne Supernova"...a stunning masterwork.
Champagne Supernova next guys
this is a beautiful song
They have several rockers you haven’t hit. Super Sonic, Rock and Roll Star, Cigarettes and alcohol, What’s the Story Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Acquiesce (live or Japanese official version), etc.
When this song was at its height it got played every night in British pubs, everybody in the pub sung along
"Live Forever" and "Supersonic" are both fantastic songs by Oasis.
As much as I love Wonderwall, this one is my favorite Oasis song....I am elated you finally covered it. 🤟🎸
I agree with you regarding the singer's voice, I've always liked Noel's over Liam's.
Please do the official video of Champagne Supernova it’s one of my all time fave Oasis songs since day one!!
she's electric is a magnificent song from the same album, love it!
I love that song.
"Stop crying your heart out" great rock ballad
Ah, I remember listening to that after a break-up,and imagining Liam singing this to me! It was good advice - my ex wasn't worth one tear, really!😺
Please you have got to do some Jamiroquai, another great 90s band (but very different from Oasis!). Check out Virtual Insanity, Love Foolosophy, Cosmic Girl, Canned Heat. They are very cool and have a great dance funk style which I know you guys will love!❤
Plus you need to check out Robbie Williams (Formerly from UK band Take That): Let me Entertain You, Rock DJ, Better Man, Feel
I loved jamiroquai
This tour is going to be huge!! But I know I'm ready for more Shinedown, devour, devil, bully, symptom of being human. Big fan of yours. Creed will be in OKC Nov 2nd ❤️
Oh damnn...You really should have done the "live in Argentina" version. It's one of the most beautiful experiences you can have in music.
oasis stop crying your heart out
Arctic Monkeys - I bet you look good on the Dancefloor
Check out any live version of this song...the crowd is great singing along!!
Especially that one at River Plate in Buenos Aires. The healing power of music!
Don't Go Away, The Masterplan, Slide Away, Talk Tonight, Roll with it, Whatever... so many great tunes!
@@vm4821 Roll With It was always a favorite of mine! The whole Morning Glory CD was fantastic!
Talk Tonight 👌
Don't Look Back in Anger live at the Riverplate in Argentina is a must watch.
Agreed! Even if they already heard the studio version!
Weeing thanks live audience of 50-6,000 sing with him!!! So cool!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤❤👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Supersonic, Little By Little, My Big Mouth, I Hope I Think I know, What’s The Story Morning Glory, Rock N Roll Star, Some Might Say, Hello, Acquiesce… some many bangers!!! This is such a legendary band! their music brings back memories of very happy years in my life. Thanks for coming back to Oasis, guys! Cheers! 🇨🇱
Champagne Supernova is the absolute best! Amber will LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It's from the 90's but it Psychedelic.
"Champagne Supernova" is a great tune
This song is sung by Noel Gallagher. His younger brother, Liam sang Wonderwall.
Sadly anger broke them up, but they have finally reconciled. I hope they dont look back in anger. Great song, thanx so much, Peace
Like many have said....Champagne Supernova should be next...huge hit.
🇬🇧
I cannot tell you just how HUMONGOUS Oasis were back then. It was CRAZY. I think someone in a earlier comment got it just right, when they said they were a phenomenon.
The next song MUST be "Champaign Supernova". Also check out "Some Might Say" and "Stop Crying Your Heart Out".
Fun Fact: Noel Gallagher wrote the line, "Stand up beside the fireplace, take that look from off your face" because when he was a kid, his mother used to make him stand next to the fireplace and have photos taken. He always looked grumpy in these photos, so she told him to take that look from off his face.
Dont know if you'll read this, but this isnt sung by the lead singer. This one was written and recorded without Liam, by his brother Noel. It was a big factor in the split up of the band.
Edit: BIG SUGGESTION Oasis- Live Forever
Oasis is the greatest Beatles cover band that isn't a Beatles cover band ever. And I say that with the most sincere and utmost respect.
In a bar on Matthew Street in Liverpool bout midnight on a Saturday night we’re listening to a couple of lads doing the classic Beatles set on stage. They come to the end and say they’ve one last Beatles track to perform…and break into Wonderwall!. The place cracked up and we had about 150 boys and girls singing their hearts out!.😂
There are obviously Beatles references throughout their music, they were big fans of them, but I think they are more than that. It's lazy to just call them a copy of The Beatles, they were/are so much more than that taking their music inspiration from many artists that came before them.
Na were more like The Who
They did cover I Am The Walrus, a Beatles song that they never performed live, so there is that, but despite some similarities and a lot of references in the lyrics, and obviously wanting to make it to be as big as them, I don't see them being the same at all.
Oasis is not like the Beatles, the Beatles all members can sing... unlike oasis.
You NEED to react to these Oasis songs:
Let There Be Love
Some Might Say
Slide Away
Whatever
Live Forever
Champagne Supernova
Bring It On Down
Masterplan
Rock & Roll Star
Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Little By Little
Gas Panic
Songbird
Stand By Me
Oasis are PHENOMENAL! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
MASSIVE Oasis fan here, Oasis are a massive rabbit hole to go down, they are so much more than Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova. I have been a fan of Oasis since I was 12 years old I am now 42, I have followed them religiously through the years. Real Oasis fans know the majority of their gems are their B sides. I would recommend listening to stuff from their first album Definitely Maybe which had a bit more of a punk vibe but their sound changed with each album, this is from the Album (What's The Story?) Morning Glory another great album. Start with Supersonic, Live Forever, Headshrinker, Columbia. Another great from (What's The Story?) Morning Glory is Cast No Shadow which Noel Gallagher (The brother singing this song) dedicated to Richard Ashcroft of the band The Verve (another great band). "Start a revolution from my bed" line was because that's what John Lennon and Yoko Ono tried to do.
Champagne Supernova !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you hear a stadium sing this, you understand why it's one of the defining songs of an entire generation. That chorus is one for the people.
This song and Robbie Williams' "Angels" marked an entire generation.
Funny thing is that Liam and Robbie were friends and then hated each other guts.
Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out(Butterfly Effect - Unofficial Version)
Just to make it clear, this is Noel Gallagher singing lead. Noel is the songwriter and lead guitarist of the band but his younger brother Liam, is the lead singer you hear on songs like champagne supernova, wonder Wall, stand by me etc.
Pulp were mentioned below. 'A different class' was amazing... the longer version of 'Common People' especially, (or anything off that album.)
This is more than just a song now - it is ingrained in British culture in my opinion.
I'm British we sing it all the time this band is a national treasure like the beetles
Do champagne supernova, Live Forever and Don’t Go Away…classics
Britain’s bands, man. Oasis, Led Zeppelin, Duran Duran, The Smiths, Radiohead, and of course the damn Beatles. They’ve perfected the formula.
The Who, The Rolling Stones, Queen and for solo artist David Bowie.
pink floyd, black sabbath, sex pistols, genesis, iron maiden, the clash,
Oasis aren't fit to lick their boots.
What you might have missed is that the singer on this song is Noel Gallagher, who has a more smoother voice, and the singer on Wonderwall is Liam Gallagher, who has that gravelly voice. Depending on the track, it's either of the two of them singing lead.
Recommendations that you MUST hear first :-
Live Forever
Champagne Supernova
Whatever
Supersonic
What's the Story Morning Glory
Don't Go Away
CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA!!! And whatever you're doing, Amber? Keep doing it! You look fantastic!
The song will always be associated with the bombings in Manchester.
Relevant to the people of the city, Don’t look back in anger sums them up. They look to the future with love and positivity.
Special people from a wonderful place.
PS I’m not Mancunian.
Absolutely beautiful. You are not to bad either Amber. 😂 xx
Love Oasis and hope they can make their reunion work. This is an incredible song and one of the bands that defined the era of the 90's. One of the best shows I have seen when they played Music Midtown in Atlanta back in their heyday. The lead singer in this song is Noel Gallagher. He and his brother Liam sing in the band. Liam is the prominent singer on most songs. Check out - "Champagne Supernova", "Love Forever", "Cigarettes & Alcohol", "Rock n Roll Star". A rabbit hole that should be gone down.
"DO YOU KNOW WHATTA MEAN?"
"STOP CRYING YOUR HEART OUT!!!!"
THEY HAVE A LOT OF HITS!!!!
NOEL AND LIAM GALLAGHER...NOEL DID THIS LIVE, THE SHADOWS NTIRE AUDIENCE SANG ALREADY NG WITH HIM!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sure this has probably been said. This song is such a part of the British culture of the last 30 years. Guarantee if this song comes on any jukebox in a British pub EVERYONE will sing along ( even people who don’t like Oasis )
Don't Look Back In Anger is a rock n' roll anthem, one of my favourite songs ever, one of the best songs to sing along in a full concert. Absolute classic
React to „Sometimes I feel like screaming” by Deep Purple. Perfect, really underrated song. So phenomenal. I would be glad if you checked out it.
Supersonic is my personal fave from Oasis. 😊
Live Forever, Slide Away - two of their greatest songs off their debut album, 'Definitely Maybe', one of the best debut albums ever
“Live Forever”
“Champagne Supernova”
After those, there are at least another dozen that are elite.
If you want a slightly heavier side to Oasis, I suggest Columbia next, probably live at Knebworth.
Oasis have a massive catalogue of songs and you will never hear a bad song from them.
Really? Jesus. 😮
@@hazza5999 Me too, have the made a good one ?
Hello is really good and Roll with It has some Beatle throwback to it. Anything off of their debut is classic!
Whats the story Morning Glory!!❤
