Govt is 'up and about' after believing they have played a 'political blinder'

Sky News Australia political editor Andrew Clennell says the government and the Treasurer are “up and about” after believing they’ve played a “political blinder”.
The Treasurer has said the federal budget will mean a faster decline in inflation, forecasting a 2.75 per cent inflation for the 2024-25 year.
“They say it reduces it. I’m not so sure.
“That gives people money to spend elsewhere in the economy. It might get rid of the electricity price figure. I just don’t believe the 2.75 per cent prediction.
“I’m happy to be proved wrong at the end of the year.”
