Bought mine with extended warranty for 3k$ 72k miles or 72 months, just because I don't trust that 8 speed transmission. Didn't wanted to get caught up with payments and expensive Transmission repair bills. So far it's been a great strong truck!! Wish i had Bose Stereo. Them fog lights are more brighter then headlights, I noticed that too

The 8 speed will more than likely be more reliable than a 6 speed. It can be kept at optilmal rpm so it’s better for the engine and transmission

I drive a 2019 Canyon Denali. It currently has about 35K miles and has been super reliable. I have taken a few cross country road trips towing a boat and it has been trouble free. I would note that the 8 speed trans tows great. A few comments regarding your video: Lumbar supports are standard on the Denali. I agree the center console is too deep. let me know where you found the insert...I want one. And what's with the sliding window? I've never used it because it is too inconvenient. I should have been electric.
But my biggest gripe is why the collision warning system is not linked to emergency braking. This oversight may be corrected on newer models but that doesn't help me. Oh...one more thing...I love the back up camera when it's time to hook up my boat trailer. Just an FYI...I was thinking about a Ford Ranger but the styling of the Canyon won my vote.

    Two things I'd change are:
Needs dual climate control, even the Denali doesn't have that.
And I'd like a battery and oil pressure gauge..
I also agree with the other things you've mentioned.

I have a 21' GMC Canyon Elevation standard edition 3.6L V6 and in your center info dash under "Vehicle" scroll down and it has "battery voltage", "engine oil pressure", "Transmission fluid temp", "tire pressure", "engine hours", and "engine oil life". Out of the 3 main options, "Vehicle" is in the middle.

    • @MySledgeHammer
      @MySledgeHammer 2 года назад

They have an oil temp gage - but it’s under the settings but anymore at 78 I am not going to check it regardless - which basically works the same way because if your oil is low it get hotter. As for the forward following to close alarm goes off your most likely following to close when you are changing lanes. The first time mine went off I thought my heart was going into this is the big one mode as in the really big heart attack mode sense it’s so loud and the seat vibrates. My Denali has lumbar support but maybe if you have the - I don’t like using lesser models they must not have. The radio and trying to figure out what station your on I agree it sucks. Plus try pushing the HD button it does something with station readouts but I don’t know what. My seats I find are not to bad but they lack the bottom cushions to be long enough for decent thigh support. No home link for garage door openers sucks. I really like my truck but I don’t feel like nit picking it sense we owned a Buick Enclave prior so it’s hard to compare a truck verses a Buick SUV so I want to be careful not to go there LOL.

I bought a 2019 ZR2 with 37,000 miles for $26k as it was a salvage title which with a few hundred bucks for a couple of things still needing fixed has been good so far. I’ve ordered a new magnacharger sc to help it get out of its own way. Mpg so far has been decent at 19 around town and 22 on the road. Lights are indeed TERRIBLE!!! Because of poor night vision I put PIA lights on everything I have and with my rig I put 2 smaller ones tied into the low beams and 2 slightly bigger ones tied into the high beams and it came with a couple of ditch lights installed up at the corners of the hood so my lightning now is great.
Seats could be more comfortable but I’ve solved that with some seat pads so at this point I think once the sc is installed, it’ll be great.

My '16 Canyon SLT and my '22 ZR2 both came with power lumbar. What trim level is yours? Seats break in over time and never bothered me, I'm long legged and 6'1" but everybody is different. There is a CCLB available but they are rarer to come by. One recently popped up locally but I was already set on ECLB as I'm not a people hauler and value bed space over cab space. I like my Canyon and ZR2 and I would buy again. If the 3rd Gen in '23 proves to be better than the 2nd Gen I'm just a trade away. Good luck with your truck.

Couple points, on the center console agree, thats a real world thing you'd have to own to know. That looks annoying. I'd probably get that aftermarket thing you showed, and now I know about it thx to your vid! Second though about the bed, well, cant emphasize there. You should have know it was a 5 foot bed going in. You either get a 6ft bed and extended cab, or a 5 ft bed and crew cab, obviously they chop a foot off the bed to make room for the extra seats. Now as you mentioned you can get the 6ft+crew cab, but it is uncommon, but if you needed that you should have special ordered it or whatever you have to do. The tradeoff is the 6ft+Crew Cab has a longer wheelbase than the other two, and is not going to handle as well in tight parking lots etc. That's why I'd rather have the short bed crew cab personally.

    • @MrGriffsAdventures

I just bought a 2019 Canyon Denali 4WD and I agree there is a lot of missing gadgets. And I thinks it is to maintain repairs and cost down in a long-term ownership. I come from a 2019 Nissan Maxima Platinum that's fully loaded. For example, the Maxima has distance pace cruise control and forward Collision warning. So the forward Collision warning got damage and then I wasn't able to use the cruise control at all. I couldn't even use the cruise control like cars without distance pace cruise control that you just regulate the speed. And the repair was $1,400 to replace the sensor. So as more tech you put in your car if you are thinking in a long term ownership it will be expensive to maintain. So I think they just wanted to keep the Canyon simple at the same time they try to give good towing capacity and a comfortable ride.

The console true on the tray but deep will hold larger items.
The headlights were held up for the new truck. But the present headlamps are not lacking. I get brighter now as it is.
The radio does come up on the drivers dash if you enable it. It does on my 17 Canyon.
As interphases go this is one of the better ones.
    My Canyon has a lumbar?
The lane guidance is the older version. The new truck with the new electrical a architecture will have it.
There is only so much money to invest in these trucks that is why Toyota is building a 20 year old truck. But you get things like 4 piston calipers and other under the skin stuff like full boxed frame and more that is better than a thing yo beep next to the road line.

What is wrong with halogen headlights I can see really well with the stock projection halogens & it’s easy & cheap to upgrade them to better bulbs too. LED’s are not what they’re advertised to be and with all the 6K white leds it’s actually harder to see colors.

I bought the 2021 Canyon Denali with the little dirty in it. (Duramax Diesel) I too have some complaints for the "luxury" mid-size truck. I'll list them below:
    1. Headlights
    2. Manual Seatback Adjustment
    3. Manual Rear Sliding Window
    4. Keyed ignition vs FOB
    5. Useless Door Pockets
    6. No Auto Memory For Seats & Mirrors (My wife is 5' & I'm 6'4")
    7. Body strip that runs length of truck below doors on both sides creates eyesore, looks unfinished.
    8. No Sunroof
    9. Wireless charging pad to narrow for my Galaxy S9+ even without the cover. Why GMC didn't fit the pad to the biggest cell phone on the market, then add another 1/4", is beyond me. The wireless charging pad is a neat & handy feature, but, an absolute useless feature for me!
    10. Bose radio system, speaker grills or something rattles with the least little bit of bass. I have to keep the bass in the negative range to stop the rattling & this isn't even with the system cranked up!
So there ya have it. I figure GMC left these things out as cost cutting measures & yes, I could've had all these things in the full size for a mere 20 to 30 grand more (out of my budget) & the full size would not fit inside our garage. Now, I will say I absolutely love the inline 4 diesel so far. Averaging 24.4 mpg. Looking forward to pulling the bass boat this spring & seeing how the mpg & transmission reacts. GMC states "Canyon diesel 4WD midsize pickup models are rated at 19 city and 28 highway - and 22 mpg combined". Although I've NEVER seen 28 on the highway, our combined is better than the 22 mpg stated as we average 24.5 mpg. So, I guess I won't complain about not achieving the 28 mpg on the highway. Well, all that said, I digress.

@@MrGriffsAdventures i mean no offense but, the few dollars you'll save over a few years on like 3 mpg better is noting compared to spending 40K+ on a truck, or if you even have one repair on one etc. Not saying the Tacoma was the right call or not.
Heck I calculated my current 20mpg truck against stuff getting even 40 mpg (about as high as possible) and at best I'd save like 800 a year, based on me driving 13k miles per year and 2.50 per gallon average gas. Over ten yrs thats 8k, over 5 yrs 4k. One major repair could eat up 8k like nothing. And that's 40 mpg vs 20, not like 21 vs 17 LOL.
You would have to drive a tremendous amount and or live in Cali with high gas prices for a couple MPG to b remotely worth basing a purchase over, and even then it'd be questionable! Say the engine fails on a truck, that's $7-9k right there. So a less reliable truck would lose all its gas savings and then some in one repair, in theory.
