Not because she thinks its a bad song, but because of an emotional connection with the song, as its creation was very stressful, and the video she says she wished she could edit more, because there was just too many ideas within it. As for hating papparazzi, she (likely) does not hate the song, she hates the paparazzi as a people. As she has once said in an interview "“You know what I spend most of my money on? Disappearing. I hate the paparazzi. Because the truth is - no matter what people tell you - you can control it." Think about living a life with very little privacy because you've got some creep with a camera following you. That's bound to feel shitty and be painful in an emotional way. I think this song speaks more about that issue, really, as well as how much the public/media/entertainment industry expects of her, when she just wants to be herself. I also think its a bit of an ode to how Artpop and Joanne didn't do as well, and she did lose fans at that point, but she's gaining many back and more with this comeback. ;) Edit: not to mention she's had a lot of shit thrown her way throughout her career. Fun Tonight is my favourite from this album. The whole album is so honest and vulnerable and incredible, but there’s something especially intimate about this song. Gaga never disappoints. This’ll definitely be on repeat.

I feel like the fame has destroyed her mentally. Her rise from 2008 to 2011 was massive and I think the downfall must have affected her a lot. She must be very hard on herself because what she accomplished in the beginning of her career takes some artists decades to achieve and she could not sustain that growth. When you are so high up, there is no place but down but really, she should be proud because she kept pushing her career forward and she is now an icon and legend.
She’s still technically at the top of her game tho IMO... “Rain On Me” ft. Ariana Grande reached #1 in countries worldwide, not to forget her success with “A Star Is Born” and her winning Academy Awards and other massively high accolades, and then the success of “Chromatica” the album? She’s still got _it_ if you ask me! ☺️🏆✨
I think Lady Gaga has shown us that success can be defined on so many levels-Even when some people weren't as focused on her, she continued to create beautiful art, make music, and kept pushing herself by working in unexpected projects, etc. She is one of the most diversified talents of all time-Let's not forget she can act, has done horror, huge social media presence, has become a public speaker, has done Jazz with one of her idols, continues to release albums that sell like crazy, pushes the boundaries in fashion culture, and still has a desire to connect with her fans on a personal level. She has shown so many people that you don't have to be perfect, you can accept and love yourself for who you are, and that she keeps fighting and staying real no matter what stage of life she's in. To me this is not a "downfall."
I think she's in her best moment, musically speaking. I'm not a fan/ little monster, never had been until i listen this piece of art. She has been accomplishing great feats in music, and she also can be a very good actress when she wants to. Gaga is impressive.
This is the sleeper hit single on the album. There are other songs that sound like different/immediate hits but this song has lasting replay value and sounds just right to the ear.

I can’t explain how I feel when I listen this masterpiece, it’s like happiness and nostalgic because this reminds me of her when she started her career, her outfits on The Fame era, because her voice sounds like that era and a little bit of Artpop too.
I think she was talking about the actual paparazzi and the actual fame... She's was with someone thay only loved for what gaga would have and didn't love her... And she's not having fun tonight because the guy enjoys the paparazzi's attention
i needed this song last year... I am in a better place now and stronger person, but this would have helped me through one of the hardest moments in my life. now it just reminds me of my strength and makes me feel nostalgic. I know this isn't the message, but I can relate to the lyrics. My last relationship was so toxic he wanted so much attention, from other people sending nudes, videos, and he didn't accept me for me. He didnt care how I felt and how it was hurting me. It me took 2 years of putting up with it losing myself not feeling me anymore, for me to build up the courage to leave him. Finally I've found myself again and more myself now than ever. Funny how a song even if its not the same message can take you back to a time in your life.

I also related to this song because of a toxic relationship I was in. I felt trapped because I deeply cared for the person while they treated me terribly. Once the second bridge to the end of the song kicked in, all I felt was my feelings in that relationship spoken in words.

So refreshing to see a true veteran little monster here 😉 I remember Marry the Night, Hair and Highway unicorn vibe from this, painful and powerful lyrics but you still want to get up your feet and dance away the pain. Chromatica album resonates Gaga's early works especially the BTW era but in here she reinvents herself better and has a different tone that differs from the rest. And as a fan, I genuinely appreciate her hard work from this album to still revive and bring back her signature 90s touch that we all adore, most certainly for her fans. She always outdo herself. And to see her fans not really appreciating or feeling this album or this song in particular makes me feel sometimes that we as fans really don't r deserve her.

Yeah that’s so interesting - or, as I think she said in the Spotify notes “imagine you’re singing this to yourself” I think? And as other parts of the album deal with her mental health, maybe it could even be her singing to herself, or the persona she’s crafted?

I can’t explain how I feel when I listen this masterpiece, it’s like happiness and nostalgic because this reminds me of her when she started her career, her outfits on The Fame era, because her voice sounds like that era and a little bit of Artpop too.

i needed this song last year... I am in a better place now and stronger person, but this would have helped me through one of the hardest moments in my life. now it just reminds me of my strength and makes me feel nostalgic. I feel like this was written for me. and its by far the most beautiful piece on the album

I know this isn't the message, but I can relate to the lyrics. My last relationship was so toxic he wanted so much attention, from other people sending nudes, videos, and he didn't accept me for me. He didnt care how I felt and how it was hurting me. It me took 2 years of putting up with it losing myself not feeling me anymore, for me to build up the courage to leave him. Finally I've found myself again and more myself now than ever. Funny how a song even if its not the same message can take you back to a time in your life.

I believe this is somewhat the message of the song though. Being stuck, wanting out, not feeling good enough and wanting to rediscover oneself again. That’s what it meant to me. Music means many things to everyone.
I also related to this song because of a toxic relationship I was in. I felt trapped because I deeply cared for the person while they treated me terribly. Once the second bridge to the end of the song kicked in, all I felt was my feelings in that relationship spoken in words.
I wish that this song becomes a single. It has such deep meaning and I think that everyone can relate to the lyrics.

I have this song on Repeat 24/7, Theres just something about this song that makes you want to dance and cry the pain away, This is THAT type of Gaga song that Most of us monsters Adored and Missed, Best song off the album period
So refreshing to see a true veteran little monster here 😉 I remember Marry the Night, Hair and Highway unicorn vibe from this, painful and powerful lyrics but you still want to get up your feet and dance away the pain. Chromatica album resonates Gaga's early works especially the BTW era but in here she reinvents herself better and has a different tone that differs from the rest. And as a fan, I genuinely appreciate her hard work from this album to still revive and bring back her signature 90s touch that we all adore, most certainly for her fans. She always outdo herself. And to see her fans not really appreciating or feeling this album or this song in particular makes me feel sometimes that we as fans really don't r deserve her.
